2. The amount of space.
I mean, if you slow your pace and sneak around it, it won't do ANYTHING. Also, it takes a while for it to turn around and approach you.
However, since it was a "8 red coins" mission, we were all like "Dear lord, THAT'S where the coin is! I'll just grab this an- AH! AHHHH! AHHHHHHHH!!!! WHAT THE HELL!?!?!?!?"
Also, this is from a Spyro game, I think first or second: I don't even remember the level's name, or the enemy's. You approach about 20 feet from the enemy, which looks like a tree. Suddenly, the bottom rises up, and it charges fast at you, and if you don't have a good reaction time, it just eats you instantly. I ALWAYS hated those things.

Buffy Chaos Bleeds freaked me out a bit, but that was more, 'I have no weapons and there's things coming at me out of nowhere' than 'EEEEK! I is gonna die!!111!!!1!' But the hospital level made me twitchy for about an hour...

Re-deads didn't really scare me as much as they did a lot of my friends. I just loved using Din's fire on 'em and stuff. It was satisfying to kill them.

The last game that "scared" me was Silent Hill 4 The Room. Not that it scared me, but I felt uncomfortable the whole time because of those unkillable ghosts and the bizarre sounds they made. They were freaky as hell. Then came the part were a murderous serial killer goes chasing you around at a park while your still trying to figure out where to go.

RE2 makes me twitchy and nervous whenever I play it. The music, the backgrounds, the zombies never dying... it ticks me off.
I saw a trailer for Silent Hill 1 when I was reaaaaally little, and it scared me so bad that I wouldn't even go into the store they had played it in XD I still think it's freaky...
