I used Venusaur and gave him Venoshock to easily wipe the floor with the fairy gym. ._.

I found a shiny Gulpin a while back... Mah first shiney evaahh!!1!... ok, I'm done typing like that.

*glances at 3DS* Over 30 hours and I'm still not at the second badge!? What have I been doing in there this whole time!?!?!!?! the correct answer is "breeding, gardening, and farming Pokemon for Wonder Trade/getting starters from my bro", actually, but still

Speaking of shinies...I remember running into a shiny Poochyena WAY to early in the game of Ruby (I didn't even received my Pokeballs at the time :beef: )

But that was in the past and right now I already caught my 2nd shiny!

So I just beat X's plot.

Spoiler: Plot spoilers and opinions
This plot has really weird pacing....and I guess it highlighted a lot of problems I had with the Pokemon Universe. In a way this game provided a lot of things I've wanted to see in a pokemon game...an acknowledgement that Pokemon are powerful tools that can be used for war, that there is some degree of conflict in the pokemon world. That everything isn't rosy and cheery for everything. However...there's just no...recognition or impact to the plot. It hit home once Xerosic activated the Super Weapon destroying most of Geosenge town and I stepped outside. No one cared. Lysandre had previously announced that he was the evil benefactor behind Team Flare and planned to destroy anyone not in Team Flare and the whole world and this message went out over everyone's equivalent of a mobile phone. No one cared. No emergency meeting of the Pokemon League, no Police mobilising to assault Lysandre Labs, no one cared. The Professor is implied to care but I call him up and he's like "So how's the Pokedex coming?" I go to Geosenge town where it's been destroyed and occupied by Team Plasma and folks are just like "Golly Gee who'da thunk it" at the Ultimate Weapon being underground. Sure that's one thing but where's the FEAR. Where's the concern for your neighbours that has been made homeless or injured by the earthquake? Where's the fear for the criminal overlords forcing you to remain indoors while they prepare to wipe out all of humanity?

Then when all's said and done it's just "Welp lets get back on the trail =D". God this is something that should have been saved for after the Pokemon League, where it was positioned it was just weird. Stepping out of the labs when the weapon was activated and just having all the free time in the world was absurd. I expected Serena or the Professor or someone to show up and be like "We gotta GO!" and take us straight there, it felt like it was all in at that point.

Ugggh, it gives me some of the things I want but the lack of consequence or any kind of acknowledgement really grinds on me. It had some really heavy goals too "The Eradication of all pokemon because people will always seek to use them?" That's a great super-villain goal! It's even somewhat justified by previous games always having "teams" that misuse pokémon. After beating it, all I'm left with is a big hole in the ground and a giant Rainbow Deer....

Then again who play pokemon for its story...

I think they put so much in the mechanic in order to make the game easier that they forget a bit about the story. Sad since after Black and White there was potential for more "deep" stories. What I found the most annoying was the pace and the serious lack of moment where team flare intervene. Is it me or there was less encounter with them than with plasma, rocket, galaxy, aqua/magma?

On side note: WHY CAN'T I HAVE A SHINY RALTS?! :larry:

Spoiler: Response to above
Nah that didn't bother me, like I said I thought it was a great Supervillain goal and Lysandre had already been hamming it up before so big dramatic statements were entirely in character for him. Plus he didn't shout it as much as admit it sadly, hell he cried at that point. It's real rare to see someone cry for drama reasons in pokemon.

I randomly got a Shroomish the other day in WT... Ended up being perfect to train into a capture-Breloom. Adamant nature, perfect IVs in everything except attack (which is 21 at the min, don't know exactly), Japanese for boosted EXP, hidden ability (technician), and it already knew Spore.

Thank you wondertrade <3

Ummm, I finished the game in 17 hours... My friend who went to each route to catch each pokemon in the route was at ~15-20 hours after he beat the second gym. What have you been doing?

Did you get it? I think shiny Eevee is one of the most valuable shiny, since well, the eevoltion shiny are just great.

Do anyone knows if we will be able to send object through the pokebank? I want to get all my master ball and distribute them in wonder trade on New Years Eve (sad it is not available for chrismas.) I will distribute a bunch of honedge with rare candies for chrismas.

You know you can straight up catch Eevee's this time round? Granted you'd need to beat the game first to get the radar but it means you can chain them for shinies if you like.

Black 2 might be my favorite Pokémon game because of how long it took me to beat it. I find X and Y way easier and I don't want to finish it any time soon.

My favorite pokemon game so far was HeartGold. I just didn't get into Gen V much at all. I really really like Y, but its postgame is just... way too barren. Hopefully it's something that'll be fixed/changed in Z.

But they're all pretty easy.

Also, Pokebank, y u no in eshop yet?!!!?!

I played through SoulSilver and when I was done, I thought I was done from Pokémon for good. I tried to play Black and White, but the lack of the classic Pokémon turned me away. It wasn't until my friend let me borrow his Black 2 when I got back into the series. It took me forever to beat, since I was rusty, but I had the best time. I want to take my time with X and Y and savor it.

That's the reason I'm taking so long on X and Y.

Uuuuuuuuuugh, I spent all day waiting for PokeBank, and when I finally got it was a piece of junk T_T

Unless they sent out a rinky-dink version today to make the strain on their servers lighter and they're going to send out a usuable version in a week or so, I am not paying $5 for that.

It's really clunky (can only transfer one box at a time, and that box has to be box 1) and really crashy.

I don't think so.

There was a period of time when I kept getting errors when trying to connect, and I think that was from server overload. When it was working though, connecting to the internet was fine. The problem was that it kept on having to connect to the internet to do everything. And it kept on checking my SD card, which took an especially long time for some reason. And whenever I was at the main menu, it would freeze for ~10 seconds before any options came up. And, as kwando mentioned, you can only transfer the pokemon from box 1 of your PC. So to transfer more pokemon, you need to go into your gen 5 game and manually move the pokemon to box 1 and repeat the entire process.

I really see pretty much all of these issues as issues with the programming/design of the app, rather than with server overload.

We'll see, though.

If its as bad as you say I can see them making a patch for it since that sounds horribly unwieldy. Is there a function to swap boxes entirely? Or would you have to manually transfer every individual Pokémon from box one to another?

I'm pretty sure you have to do it manually, in the actual gen 5 game.

In XY there's the option to move around multiple pokemon at once, but that was introduced in XY IIRC.

Ugh that's a really inefficient way to handle moving around potentially hundreds of pokemon. I'll bet the transfer process takes some time too.

When you say the first time, do you mean it crashed and you had to restart?

Between downloading, setting up, crashing, and figuring the programs out, yes.
