I just re-beat Twilight Princess, and watched the ending, and now I know why it makes people cry at the end.

Midna was about to say....
Whoever said nothing was impossible obviously never tried to close a revolving door.
"Suspense msuic plays" Oh crap, SAVESAVESAVE! Oh wait, that's my phone. And the caller ID is... MOM!?
"Cornered music plays"

Probably something in Phoenix Wright that escapes me at the moment.

Aaaaaand...

Paper Mario :TTYD
Spoiler: some big spoilers
When Bobbery read the lettery, the fact Peach got possessed, and also that just about every female character fell in love with Mario but never told him made me cry.

And I'm pretty sure I'll cry when I finish Super Paper Mario...

That being, Tidus disappearing leaving Yuna alone, when you know they were meant to be together.

I know, they get back together in X-2's perfect ending, but this was before then.

Seconded

Thirded!

Also

Spoiler: FFX-2 spoiler
Yuna's concert in the Thunder Plains, when Lenne's memories of hers and Shuyin's final moments play out. That together with the song makes it a rather heartwrenching moment.

Spoiler: Suikoden V
Reuniting with Miakis after the attack on Doraat. You feel bad for her because she's pretty much been isolated like the Princess, and she feels like she's lost everything and has to cling to the one thing she still has... her duties as a Queen's Knight. So much, that she's willing to turn on you (and even slit your throat if you lose in the duel!).

Galleon's flashback. You can't watch that and not feel your heart tear open. When Queen Arshtat comes out of her trance and immediately realizes her irreversible mistake, sentencing her own husband to die, you just feel so horrible for her and Ferid. And then Georg has to come and finish things...and you feel bad for him too.

Also, if you didn't collect all 108 stars, Lyon's death in the ruins. When the Prince raises his hands and you see he has both Runes, and then Georg runs over and hugs him, it's such a sad moment.

Spoiler: Xenogears
When Fei and Elly declare their love. It's so sweet and moving.

Spoiler: Xenosaga Episode 3
Well, it's hard to pick a single moment, considering half the game is wracked with tragedy. And disc 2 is just one big sobfest.

Virgil's and Febronia's scene, when they meet again after 15 years, despite the fact that they're both dead. When Febronia's theme kicks in with the violins, and Virgil starts going on about his regrets and loneliness... aahhhhh. And then Feb embraces him and assures him there's nothing he has to feel bad about. Awww.

Little Shion's near-death experience. Man, no wonder her grown-up counterpart is so fucked up. Having to witness the violent deaths of her parents, and being put in danger countless times, and then (later in adult life) having to endure the burden of being the one who summoned a race of creatures who turn out to be the greatest threat to human life.

Gaignun/Nigredo's death. It made me so mad, and it made me hate Dmitri Yuriev on so many levels. It just seemed unnecessary to me... but then, it was his choice to sacrifice himself in the end, so whatever.

KOS-MOS' awakening as Mary, or rather, Shion's memories leading up to it. All the flashbacks with Mary and chaos...something about it seemed so precious. And the music sells it quite well.

The whole "Shion tries to go with her ex-fiance/semi-evil Testament Kevin but is stopped when her friends kick her ass, followed by Allen and Mary talking some sense into the girl" thing. When you realize you have to turn on one of your own party members, and all that drama...ahhhhh. But then something awesome follows and a true happy ending is born from the pain. Allen, you are AMAZING AND ILU <3 <3 <3

Jin's death. Wahhhhhhh. :sob: I suppose he's with Pellegri now, though.

Spoiler: LUNAR: SSSC
After much lulz at the Blue Dragon Cave entrance, the part where Alex starts to play his ocarina. His and Luna's love is so strong that she hears him miles away and starts to sing along. It's just so moving.

And Alex reuniting with Luna in the Goddess Tower. Wow.

Spoiler: LUNAR: EB
Freeing Mauri from Zophar's mind control.

Finding out the Goddess' fate, just seeing Althena as an old woman who gave up her immortality for love.

Spoiler: PW:AA:JFA
Everything about Acro.

Spoiler: PW:AA:T&T
Quite a lot of them. I almost cried after breaking Viola's psyche-locks, and then there's Fawles dying and Godot being found guilty of murder.

Spoiler: Terranigma
The ending.

Spoiler: Mother 3
Another incredibly sad game. In fact, I don't even know where to start.

Spoiler: Zelda: The Wind Waker
The king of Hyrule dying.

Spoiler: Resident Evil 4
The death of Luis. I loved that guy.

Spoiler: Hotel Dusk: Room 215
Confronting Dunning in chapter 10.

Spoiler: Elite Beat Agents
Failing "You're The Inspiration". I thought the song itself was more heartwarming than sad, but I felt like such a jerkass when I failed it.

Spoiler: Final Fantasy VI
I didn't know how to rescue Cid the first time I played it. When Celes found out that he was dead, I wanted to cry, and when she jumped off a cliff while repeating a quote from the opera scene, I really cried.

Spoiler: Pokemon Mystery Dungeon
The whole leaving the Pokemon world and then deciding to stay and all that crap. Made me cry just 'cause I was young, but it had a nice story nevertheless.

Spoiler: Hotel Dusk
I didn't exactly cry, but I felt such strong emotions at the end with Dunning's confession and Bradley's letter.

New Super Mario Bros.- When Mario finally got his girl in the end, I bawled.

But seriously, no video game has ever made me cry.
Then again, I don't play a lot of RPG's so I don't have much encounters with epic storylines.

FFX's ending also made me cry, but not nearly as hard as Crisis Core. I was actually bawling.

Final Fantasy games just do that to me. :sadshoe:

Let's see, big list...

Spoiler: Super Paper Mario
DX Tippi and the Count just HAD to die. So sad... And Mario was so heartless as to just go buy a new Tippi-like pixil after she died. So messed up.

Spoiler: Trauma Team
Naomi and Alyssa hugging was just the perfect "D'aww" moment. That was the most emotion Naomi had ever showed in either of the games. And the ending theme... it just added to the tear-jerking. When merely listened to, it sounds odd for being in a game like that, but the words... It just pulled it all together.

As pathetic as it is...

Spoiler: Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Blue Version
""DX I DON'T WANNA GO BACK TO BEING HUMAN! I'LL MISS YOU, [INSERT PARTNER'S NAME HERE]!!!" *fades away into ZE LIGHT* .........

A few moments later...

"Oh, hey, I'm back everyone! WHAZZAAAAAP!?""

Made me cry out of sadness and then frustration within a minute.

Spoiler: Kingdom Hearts
I was only like 8 when I first watched the ending. D= The song stuck in my head, and now whenever I hear it, I cry.

Spoiler: Kingdom Hearts 2
B-BUT...! WHAT ABOUT ROXAS!?!?

Spoiler: KH 3.14/2 whatever number Days
It went right back to the beginning of KH2. And we all know what happens to Roxas after that. DX THANKS FOR BRINGING BACK THE SADNESS, STUPID GAME!

Spoiler: Phoenix Wright
"The miracle never happen." made me cry tears of annoyance.

Spoiler: Hey You Pikachu!
NO, PIKACHU, DON'T LEAVE MEEEEEEE!!!

Spoiler: Super Mario Sunshine
I thought FLUUD or whatever was going to die. D= I freakin' loved him.

Spoiler: Luigi's Mansion
I cried throughout the whole game. It was SCARY. IT STILL IS. Just thinking about it makes me want to hide in my closet. I have no idea why, but this game scares me so much more than those typical horror games like House of Dead and Resident Evil.

Spoiler: Persona 3
SHINJI!!! DX Why couldn't they just kill the kid instead? It was beautiful death with perfect last words, but still. I cried so hard after that. He was like my favorite character too.

Spoiler: Trauma Center: UTK2
I cried when Emilio died. For a long time after that, I completely stopped caring about Derek and absolutely HATED him for letting such a cute thing die like that! He should've just let Ross die. XP She was like an Angie clone in disguise.

Um, yeah, the list is getting too long, so I'm just gunna stop there. =D

Obligatory World Ends With You. Actually cried several times during the game, not just the ending.

And... God, I'm such a hardcore fan of these games, Professor Layton. All of them. Even the third one that's not in English yet.
I'll be as non-spoilery as possible.

Curious Village: It wasn't a sad ending, but I still cried.
Diabolical Box: Anton... ;3;
Unwound Future: One word. Claire. TTATT

I think I cried a few times during JFA (Mostly at the end), And for Godot at the end of T&T.

I think PW, PL and TWEWY are the only games I've ever actually finished. XD
Can you handle us? So cool, baby, scandalous.

You're about to die since the Shadow Queen is invincible, but then something awesome/heartwarming happens - everyone you met during the adventure cheers you on through the Crystal Stars. And after that Peach returns to normal briefly and helps you.. The music gives me goosebumps every time I replay it. I think I shed a manly tear or two as well, hence why it's in this thread.

I don't cry very much because of video games...Though, Rouge Galaxy's soundtrack did make me cry a bit because it is so darn good.

Maybe I should play more games...Oh wait! Mother 3 made me very teary eyed. Almost made me...Almost...All...Most...

Oh wait! Though it's not a real game persey.....Touhou Mother was incredibly sad and did make me cry....

I guess the Mother series and fan-made spinoffs of it usually get me...

Okay, I'm done.
