I don't know what it's called. I just know it was an awesome song that played when encountering FE characters in Melee.

As I said once before, we're keeping the hidden characters in spoilers for the benefit of those who want to wait to unlock them in the game, so please mark your spoilers for the time being, at least until the international release on October 3rd. But to answer your question...

Spoiler:
He's the game's surprise retro character, and is based around NES zapper games like Wild Gunman and Hogan's Alley. Take a look at his moveset if you'd like.

You must be referring to Marth's song. It became a series staple after it was started to used in games where Marth wasn't (but Roy or his father were in).

I'm with you on this. Although I have the special demo of Smash 3DS, it's pretty much limited. As in the game limited you to Mario, Villager, Pikachu, Link, and Mega Man. I'd like to play as the other fighters

Thought it'll keep me busy while I wait for the full version of Smash 3DS to come out in two weeks.

In my opinion the demo got boring after a while, but it's still fully enjoyable if you have 3 people to play with, and since pretty much everyone with a 3DS at my university has the demo, it's incredibly fun during school hours.

My boy Lucas better be in the Wii U version or DLC

I'm actually kind of disappointed in the new entries this time around. Megaman and Little Mac are the only ones that I got happy about

Lucas was my main in Brawl, It's a shane he didn't make it in.
You didn't like the roster so much?

U.S. commercials are up and currently airing both on TV and online. You can see them here, here and here. They have a bit of a late 90's/early 2000's feel to them compared to previous Nintendo commercials. And the tagline, "Settle it in Smash!" is starting to become something of a meme already.

JesusMonroe wrote:

As mentioned several times previously, the roster between both games is identical. So unfortunately, no Lucas this time around. And while DLC characters are possible, that's not a guarantee that he'll be included as such either. Although I've read that some of Ness's alternate moves make him a bit more like Lucas, so there's always that option.

Well, there's still the wording "they will be identical" that was used quite a while back. I still think that part of the connectivity will be bonus characters rewarded (or even unlocked by) synching WiiU and 3DS. Maybe when the 3DS comes out and Ice Climbers are more feasible?

I've said this another forum and I'll say it here. I've mained Lucas in Brawl, and have never liked playing as Ness. Their playstyles were too different. Giving Ness Lucas's specials changes nothing for me. What made Lucas different than Ness was his superior PSI smash attacks over Ness's weak yo-yo, and I much preferred Lucas's slower movements and prolonged dodges compared to Ness. Giving Ness Lucas's specials is just that. Ness with Lucas's specials. It won't be Lucas and it won't have that Lucas feel. I never played Lucas for his specials, they really weren't that useful outside of PK Thunder. I'll probably still give Ness a try, but if he still controls like the previous three installments, I probably won't play him much.
On April 3, 2016, Court Records Forums experienced a miracle upon that day.

I was thinking. Since the full Smash game is about to release in 2 weeks or so would people be game for an official C-R Smash tournament? The people in this thread seem to be playing it when it comes out. I raised this question in the fighting game fanatic thread, but the best place to set this up will probably be here. I'd like to exchange friend codes regardless when it comes out, since playing a friend is more fun than playing a random person online. So are people here up for a friendly tournament? If that's the case I'll try to arrange an optimal date and time.

Well i'd be happy to do that, but we should make sure to do it sometime after release just so we've had practice as other characters.

Well depending on how many players will enter (at the moment I have 4 entries: Pierre, Doitsu, Klonoa & myself) it will take some time anyway to set a date when we'll all be available. I'm expecting 1 or 2 weeks after release should be ideal. That's also enough time to familiarize yourself with at least one character.

We did something similar back in the Brawl days as I recall. Nothing tournament-structured per se, but a somewhat weekly meeting time to play together and see who came out on top over a period of time. We did that for a few months before interest fell off and we eventually stopped trying to schedule it.

If you want to try to schedule something more structured, I'd be up for that. I suppose it would depend on the ruleset though. Items? Stocks/totals? Regular stages or Omega mode only? All things to consider.

We didn't make a separate thread for playing Mario Kart 8 online together, so I'd say keep the discussion to the pre-existing thread here as well.

Isn't that moot now with customizability? Actually, wouldn't that make all clones moot due to customizability?

I think you are overselling customisability.

As far as we know only specials are customisable. That leaves a great deal of other moves unchangeable. Also inherent factors like how heavy a character is and how much damage their attacks do.

Recently got to play Project M and Wolf was wonderful in it.

Ok so for now we got: Pierre, Doitsu, Klonoa, Alonso, Prof Yoshi, SquareMB, Sumguy, Blademaster Orca, Genodragon (and company?) & myself, which amounts to 10 players. With 12 players we'd have an ideal number to make even pool brackets, but off course anyone is still allowed to join.

I haven't put much thought into the rules yet, but here's what I have in mind:
First player to win 2 matches advances (So best of 3 matches) in the tournament
Match type: stock matches with 3 lives per match.
Matches will be 1 vs 1 player
Stages: All stages have a final destination option and are therefore OK (no hazard stages)
Items: ???

I'm not sure what to do with the items. I think they are great fun and definitely add value to the game, but it could mean that someone gets 'lucky' and lands a cheap victory. I'm personally leaning towards no items, but what is your feedback on this guys?
