The stage begins aboard the Great Fox. Team Star Fox defends the gate from missiles, which can be used as platforms for a short while:
Eventually the team goes through the gate, where the fighting shifts to atop the arwings as they proceed:
Sakurai describes the stage in general as a "wild and hectic ride", so while it's probably not the most fair stage to fight on, it looks pretty damn awesome to me.

This is stage reminds me of that scene in Return of the Jedi when Lando & Co is destroying the Death Star.

Yeah that game was a Starfox game in name only. Since I never played another Starfox game before I did enjoy the game though.
I'm really glad that no Dinosaur worlds or ... *ugh*... Crazoa Palace made it into smash as stages. Corneria is a great stage and one of my personal favorites.

I probably won't fight anyone just yet, though; I want to get used to the controls first. I'm going to reconfigure them to better mimic the Gamecube controls. Once I've gotten the hang of the controls, we'll see about some matches.

Though if there's anything the online has taught me, it's to invest in an XL at some point. My hands are all cramped up from fighting for three hours straight on my tiny original 3DS.
Then i need to get the trophies to get 100 percent.
And all the outfits, equipment, custom moves, and the challenges... unless you did those already. Well done otherwise, though.
You should've gotten the update before the game. Having to wait for the download makes the anticipation that much worse.

So apparently Dark Pit is an identical clone AND a costume change. ...what?
But on a brighter note, Mii fighters have finally given me the opportunity to play as a super deformed Gordon Freeman and beat the crap out of a super deformed Yukari Takeba. All is forgiven.
