You have to find all the star stickers and add up the totals to get a number. Then type that number in with the change you can get in Chapter Four (present your money to Dunning) and get the lipstick. But I don't know what it's used for!

You can give it to Rosa, Iris, or Helen. You can also show it to Mila and get her rare smile sprite.

Woo, got and completed this game this week. Great fun. I got the second-worst ending.

Spoiler:
Kyle left with Mila, no Jenny. I got a couple game overs, gave the Pinkie Rabbit doll to Melissa, first playthrough.

Looking back on it, I can only say one thing. Jeff's a dick.

Seriously, I got a game over because I didn't notice him in the hallway and he sicced Dunning on me.

Join the club! My first playthrough, I got that ending!

If that's the second-worst ending, what's the worst? I've heard rumors of Dunning shooting you, but I really doubt that. It'd probably be rated M if that was the case. Or not. Stupid ESRB.

The Dunning going nuts ending is a rumor.

Hey, that's what I got first playthrough! Exactly the same, down to the rabbit!
Well, by first playthrough, I mean only playthrough as my Mum's been playing it for the last three months. :nick:

I was like a lot people at the end of the game; how the hell was everyone in the hotel related to each other? Yeah, felt like doing a tree to just lay it on paper instead of my mind, but working on my second playthrough!

After reading the GFAQs script, I have only one thing to say:

Spoiler: Game Over spoilers
Getting a Game Over for accidentally tearing the label off the wine bottle and having Rosa chew your ear off for it is the lamest excuse for a Game Over ever.

I just bought the game a few days ago (yes, it took me that long) and I'm currently in Chapter 7. From what I've heard, the ending is amazing. Is it really that great?

Spoiler: The end, kinda
When Dunning knocks Kyle out, where did he come from. It says from behind, yet he had already knocked Louis out, so he can't have left and come back that quickly, Kyle would have seen him.

I forgot the coins... no vending machine! :ack: !

Good game though, very good.

The best ending IMO is the good ending without the bonus cut scene

Spoiler:
Having Jenny be returned so many years afterwards seems out of character for Nile, they killed Mila (Bradley's sister) and several other people even after said person did what Nile wanted, Dunning said "screw you" to Nile, yet they let his daughter live? And even let her go almost 10ish years after kidnapping her!!

Actually, Bass, I have a perfectly good explanation for that.

Spoiler:
We know that Nile kills their hostages, as evidenced by the death of Bradley's sister, Mila. You must remember the rumors about a girl going missing in the hotel, and here's the important part, the police being told where her body was but not finding it. This was of course Jenny. My guess is that Jenny, through some twist of fate, avoided meeting her end at Nile's hands, and escaped without knowing the location of her father or how to get there. Dunning either never heard of the police getting such a note, or put it down to Nile taunting him. Nile, realizing Dunning thought they still had Jenny, pushed him with blackmail even long after she should have been returned (hence Evans' letter.) After ten years on the run, Jenny managed to track her father down to Hotel Dusk, the place she was kidnapped (she likely visited there between the time he took over and her kidnapping, and so did not find him there) and through coincidence found her way there barely a few days after Kyle Hyde exposed her father's secret.

Wow. I finished the game a couple of days ago and the ending was just.... wow. I can't even describe it. I got the ending where
Spoiler:
Mila leaves with you. And I also saw that little scene where Jenny comes back. The only thing I thought was disappointing was the fact that I still have so many questions even though I've finished the game. Hopefully the sequel I keep hearing about will answer them.

I have a few questions myself:

Spoiler:
-What happened to Rosa's husband?
-Where is Grace?
-Will Helen and Martin ever see Alan again?

Well, I'll post my questions here since someone might be able to answer them:
Spoiler:
- Why did Grace ask Dunning to paint her something?
Did she sell this painting to pay off the lawsuit?
- I understand why Bradley wanted the red box to be found, but why the magazine? Did he hope that Kyle would find out Cecily Lee is Iris and then make the connection to Grace?
- Why did Dunning have the red box locked up in his file cabinet?
- Did Bradley kill Robert Evans?

There's more but I can't think of them at the moment.

Spoiler: Questions Awnsered
- Why did Grace ask Dunning to paint her something?
Did she sell this painting to pay off the lawsuit?
Yes, that is where she got all her money, Kyle even comments on it.

- I understand why Bradley wanted the red box to be found, but why the magazine? Did he hope that Kyle would find out Cecily Lee is Iris and then make the connection to Grace?
I believe he knew the connection and hoped Kyle would track down Cecily Lee aka Iris to discover the truth, it just happened that Iris was at the hotel the same night, unless Bradley was posing as Grace to get Iris to go to the hotel or knew about the arrangment between the two. Bradley's good, but I don't think he's that good.
- Why did Dunning have the red box locked up in his file cabinet?
Same reason he closed off the room the old Kyle Hyde (Bradley) had slept in. He knew anything the guy had must have been important (why else would he have the Angel opening a door?) but he couldn't open the box, so he kept it safe and secret.
- Did Bradley kill Robert Evans?
Yes He did
-What happened to Rosa's husband?
That was a cameo to the last game they made (Trace Memory). Rosa's husband brings the main character to the island where Trace Memory takes place.
-Where is Grace?
Like Bradley, most likly on the run from Nile.
-Will Helen and Martin ever see Alan again?
Umm I don't think that has any barring on the story, but I assume so. I actually found this sub plot useless, it has no connection to Nile, Angel opening a door, or Bradley

Also Bolt

Spoiler:
Your idea works, but its not very well supported by the story, I could take the same evidence and say Nile was scaring Dunning by leading the Police on a wild goose chase. Eventually Nile realized they were never gonna get what they wanted...so they let her go? I mean, for the best ending to be canon your idea or a similar one had to happen, but its still never really explained in the game with hard detail.

Actually, not true. My best friend, who happens to be a fan of Phoenix Wright, didnt get past the first chapter of hotel dusk before giving it back. Said it was far too slow. She never even got to that
Spoiler: ? I guess?
"interrogation" bit where you find out about Louie's past.

She hated the music, as well. I personally loved the music and the story, but she spent four hours on the small bit she played. Idiot.
My brother was more interested, but has stopped playing it.

Its similar in some ways to phoenix wright, But the pacing is very different. Wheras Phoenix Wright always starts with a bang, Hotel Dusk has a much slower, drawn out introduction. (with amazing art, though 8D)...Its not like PW, where each episode starts off with a murder. Just get through the first chapter, and everything will get much, much better.
