The summit's probably not coming back.

That's unfortunate because I would have enjoyed playing with the Aurora Borealis in the background.

There's a slight difference between having the rights to something and licensing something. Nintendo bought DK back yes, and the characters and concepts that go with them all. But. Nintendo needs to do their own thing with them. This doesn't strike me as a remixed track, it could, but unlikely. Because Nintendo doesn't appear to be modifying the track, they would need to license it from RareWare.

Also, it could just be wishful thinking, but with all the engine modifications Nintendo's made I haven't yet ruled it out. Is Dedede swimming? Or is that a trick of camera angle?

I think it was mentioned that the Delfino Plaza stage playable at E For All had water in which characters could swim for a short while before drowning.

But in buying the rights to the DK series wouldn't they also have gotten all the music that was in the games? :yogi:

Bass, if that was the case, then Nintendo could just port the DKC games on the DS and not let RareWare have their logo on it. The way I see it, Nintendo could take the Music and Remix it whatever, to make it their own composition. If it's a matter of copy paste then they are using RareWare's unmodified work. The unmodified is the important term.

Guess Who, the terms were wrong, but the concept stands. Nintendo owned Donkey Kong yes. But RareWare owned the modifications they made to the DK franchise.

We now have (for those who haven't seen it yet) Meta Knight's FS, Galaxia Darkness. Meta Knight swings his cape out. If it misses, nothing happens. If it hits someone, the entire stage is sent into darkness and Meta Knight starts slashing everyone, including those not caught in his cape.

Hmm, I guess that makes sence, in the end though I still don't think we will see any Rare characters (PD, Banjo Kazooie, Conker, etc.) in brawl cause all the new games in that series are going to the Xbox 360.

So far the most surprising thing they've dished out is stage builder, can't wait for more.

Meta Knight's FS seems unsurvivable once you get hit with it, but who would get in front of someone who is ready to use their final smash?

Well, speaking as someone who's seen it in action, let me clear up a few things.

• It is hard to survive, hard to pull off too. Ike and, on a smaller note, Link have the same problem.
• Best way to survive is be low on health and not on the top platform.
• It's good to sneak up on people distracted when battling or stunned from a hit. Better yet, grab a Deku Nut and stun them... hee hee hee.

is anyone else here really pissed about ike?
from what ive heard, he is almost as slow as bowser, and all of his moves are slow and predictable.

i'm a player of marth and formerly roy (only because marth's moves are easier to ko with). i was hoping that ike would be like roy, only better, but apparently, all the experts at smashworld seem to think he's going to suck.

What does everyone else think?

I was at E for All.

Ike kicked so much ass, I hoped he would be downgraded before the game came out.

His special moves are strong, his normal attacks are powerful with long range, his FS is an almost guarenteed KO with explosive effects, and he's invulnerable when B+Up is in effect.

Trust me, if he's as good as he was at E4All or even close, you have NOTHING to worry about.

But yeah, I am pissed about Ike, because sword-using characters are overpopular. :edgy:

All right, Bomberman has a good chance in being in Smash. Here is my good reason-If any of you didn't already know this, there is a Bomberman game coming on the Wii in January.

Seems like everyone wants the Mans. Mega Man, Bomberman, Rayman... hmm.

Today we have a rather unecessary (but useful) update about the return of the character entrances. High points include the Ice Climbers getting a lift from the orange condor from their game, Lucas riding in on Mr. Saturn's living tea table and Snake dropping in while turning off his optical camo.

I think it's kind of the opposite, Orca. Useless, since it doesn't really do anything, but necessary because it means a lot gamer-wise. Of course, that's just my opinion.

Well, I may have been wrong wrong wrong about Krystal, but I still got high hopes that next week, she'll be announced. Or maybe... maybe at long overdue, Captain Falcon will.

Some pretty cool openings. I really want to know how Wario, Zelda and Pokémon Trainer enter, as they're the only ones we don't know of.

@Magmar
Seeing as Peach's entrance is the parasol, I think we can assume Zelda's is her teleport - they did this in the first Subspace Emissary movie. I'd imagine Wario to ride his bike and step off, and Pokémon Trainer.. It'd be cool if he was pixelated, and then warped into the Smash Bros. world, like an opposite of the start of a Pokémon game.

Same thing I was thinking of, when he gets warped in his comes into full 3-D. I would play with him all the time just for that.

pixelated sounds like it would be a reasonable option. if the advance wars and the excite bike AT are pixelated, then the dovelopers might consider that option for the Pokemon trainer

Agreed! It would seem more realistic and more of a surprise that way. It would just set the mode better for the unlocking battle. :garyuu:

Why not just have PT fly out on Charizard? That way you would have Charizard out on the field (as the starter) and PT in the background after he jumps off of Charizard?

Sorry, but that's not very likey to happen. The Pokemon Cycle for the Pokemon Trainer always going in this order: Squirtle→Ivysaur→Charizard. And this has already been comfirmed on the site under the Pokemon Change update. Just like in the Pokemon games, you start off with the most basic form which is Squirtlein this case. So, Unless you can make Squirtle fly, that's not gonna happen.

That's a very good question actually, TSS. As far that goes, I have only 2 guess:

1) You'll see him run off the screen from the background after he loses. (You know, cause all of his Pokemon are knocked out and he has to get a Pokemon Center.)

or

2) The Pokemon Trainers lets out sighs over the lose and hangs his head low. Then, he collaspes to ground and stays in the background as the match goes on. (If a player lost a match in the Pokemon game, The Trainer Blacks Whites out.)

There's nothing really necessary to do with the Pokémon Trainer once his team dies, but I assume once all the stock is gone the Trainer uh... whites out or something.
