So, would that mean he's not a Playable Character? or are they throwing us for a loop?

It depends about who you ask:
:I'm staying silent about that...Jokes aside, There is no confirmation yet that Nook is or is not going to be playable yet. Some people will say he's AC's playable characters while other's (like myself) say he's not. Those who say he is NOT the playable character go with The Human Characters to be playable. Or say that there will be NO AC playable character at all. It's still up in the air.

Either way there were three signs that told me Ness wasn't coming back:
1.Sakurai wanted to replace Ness in Melee
2.His move set in melee seemed a little "stretched" what I mean is that they might not have a different move him (Just speculation)
3.Was the appearence of Lucus and the description that he is "better than Ness"
So my guess is why would they put a weaker character in when they have a similar character, but much stronger. I know they had clones in Melee, but I am guessing they are doing their best to avoid clones. Most likely one of the reasons Assist Trophies exist. With all this, I was able to conclude that Ness wan't coming back. Speculation only.

A lot of people believe it because there is an Animal Crossing logo (the leaf with the circular cut on the side). There is also a stage, music, and a certain item that all belong to the series. Why would they have such a huge proportion of Animal Crossing and NOT have a playable character.
Now, I am one of the people who strongly believes Tom Nook is going to be the playable character. Him being in the background makes no difference; you can have four Links or four Bowsers fighting, what's one in the background? Besides, the audience in the back changes, so it wold be really simple to just not have Tom Nook in the background if he's in the fight?
The last arguement people give is what any AC character would have as weapons. Well, I got some:
Bug-Catching Net (could be used to catch items as well as catch)
Axe, Shovel (attacking weapon)
Fishing Pole (teeter recovery, grab)
Pitfalls (Diddy Kong throws bananas, AC character could throw Pitfalls).
Wide variety of household objects (the motherload of random throwing weapons!)
We'll have to wait and see.

Feel Better Now?
I have to say that this is the first Metroid level in the Smash Brothers Series that I actually like. In the past games, I found them just to be an annoying (and kinda cheap) trick for a stage design. This time around, The lava actual adds a challenge to stage like it should since the first game. And the Lava Tide Wave is something I certainly can't wait to see for myself.

I actually remember when two people managed to get into the container as the wave approached. You see, when the wave comes up, the container is sealed shut with a metal frame, so you cannot see the people inside. But you can see the 'impact' animations from their hits.
It kind of makes me think of two wet cats trapped in a carrier. RAWR FFFFT RRRRRAAAARRR!

I took a look at the the video Mr. Rufus gave us, I saw Samus turn into the metroid fusion version of the outfit. Then again, the quality of the video did distort it, so I don't know for sure.
