For no reason at all guess what? both doctors will be able to use the Healing Touch! Even though you can only use it once per operation maybe the rules change if you have both doctors with the same ability? Then does that mean that you can use HT more than once?

Imagine player one using healing touch and player two using it the second time in order to finish off the operation in case they get in a bind. :beef: A big part of Trauma Center's appeal for me is the option not to use that ability at all it makes it that much more great when I do get through an operation with out it with just my skill alone. :phoenix:

In case you think I'm bluffing look at the New Blood site and click on the characters section and see for yourself.

I haven't got past the worm operation yet a friend of mine who picked up the game and started playing it after I got it is stuck in the same spot too. What operation did any of you get stuck on? Or couldn't get past without finally breaking down and using HT?

The new trailer has voices for all the characters! :keiko:

I think they're pretty good, even though the nurse is Gwendolyn.

It's true that both doctors will be able to perform the Healing touch, but I think Valerie will get Weaver's Healing Touch, the one where the vitals are healed whenever the player gets an OK, Good or Cool. After all, I think both doctors using Healing Touch and freezing time completely in any mission might make the HT function a little too powerful.

Of course, I had to use Healing Touch the first few times I ran through it, but when you try to S rank the missions, you'll eventually learn to stop using it.

The missions I got stuck on during my first runthrough, and had to use a walkthrough to get past:
A Real Doctor (I forgot about the blue syringe)
Life or Death (This mission, and the missions before, I forgot the green syringe even existed!)
Awakening (So many aneurisms exploding at the same time!)
An Explosive Patient (I couldn't figure out how to drain the water and deposit it correctly, and during the motherboard section, I though I had to cut the wires instead of fry the microchips)
Forbidden Knowledge (It's common to get stuck on Triti when you don't know how to stop it from multiplying)
Under The Knife (I was so in a hurry, I kept forgetting about the patient's vitals)
Infection (I kept cutting them up all at once. Poor Cybil, she died like, 30 times)
Death Awaits All (Angie didn't tell me I had to stab Savato with the scalpel! "It's all in your hands Doctor Stiles..." I was sat there wondering what on earth I had to do next)

So, yeah. I suck. Hehe.

I hope I don't sound patronising (because I don't intend to), but this may help in drawing the five-sided star in the game.

http://www.wikihow.com/images/2/2e/Star.png

It doesn't have to be a perfect star, you can even do a small, wonky one in the corner. As long as the game can recognise it, it'll activate the Healing Touch. Unless you're talking about Second Opinion. I haven't played that, but I heard that performing the Healing Touch is quite harder in that version.

From looking at the co-op trailer the female doctor's healing touch stops the patients vitals from dropping or regaining, which can be a good or bad thing.

It sounds like the female doctor may have the first Healing Touch that is a double edged sword not that it isn't a strain on the doctor when they use it in the first place anyway. :phoenix:

I got past the fiberous worm patient I don't know how, I just got past it. I find it so easy to lose track of how many sections of the worm that you have to cut when there are a lot of the small ones moving around. I think I'm on the last two patients as far as the story mode goes the one where you have to deal with a guilt that looks like a spider.

For now I'm taking a break and playing Life Signs: Surgical Unit it's a nice change of pace from Caduceus, though I have no doubt that Dr. Tendo couldn't handle a GUILT outbreak if it happened in his country. :grey:

It's funny because they reference the Healing Touch in Episode Two(I think) so many times that it became kind of old.

Actually, I think they're just using it as a figure of speech, not the TC 'healing touch.'

I love UTK, but I haven't played it in months, I'm stuck on X5 (s ranked X1!!woohoo!:D) and just don't have the will to try and beat it. Pempti is evil..:(
Everyone says Trauma Center is really hard....for me, it's kinda the wrong word......'challenging' is what I would describe it as. I was on a pretty boring holiday, and amazingly, this was the first game where after repeated attempts I didn't get frustrated..(The rainbow level on Super Mario 64 means one of the hinges on my DS were broken...)I just carried on. X1 took me about 2 1/2 hours...I just sat there and repeatedly did it. I love that game! :D

Triti...the best, non-confusing method without HT is just to remove them in lines, and as only 1 side is exposed, it's kinda easy to control the thorns. The only tricky bit is where you get to the last few triangles, watch out there are no thorns, it has a habit of freakishly multiplying. I HATED Triti, don't know many people who like it lol..still don't really like it now .(I was attempting it at the airport, after every go I was sweating and my heart rate was about OVER 9000) I actually never thought I could beat X3, after I did, I had this huge feeling of relief that I'd never have to come across that thing again...

Yeah I'm stuck on X3 too right now I did the first two missions without the Healing Touch but the challenges UTK throws at me makes me consider breaking the no HT rule again the last time I used it was in Shifting Guilt and by accident in the one with five tumors.

I heard that Second Opinion was easier then UTK but I haven't had a chance to play it yet at this rate the chances of me S ranking Under The Knife mission is slightly higher then passing this level at this time. :grey: However I will take the tips people posted in dealing with this guilt into consideration.

For Under The Knife, get used to I/Ging, then during a Kyriaki mission, concentrate on cutting them open, I/Ging once or twice, laser them all, and leave the wound suturing to last, when the Kyriaki are gone. Keep practicing I/Ging Kyriaki missions until you can cure a patient in less than two minutes (or even better, a minute and a half.) To suture wounds while there are Kyriaki left is wasting time.

When playing the Under The Knife mission, S-rank requirements are: No misses, No Healing Touch, all five patients cured in under 10 minutes. Your score doesn't really matter, because it's going to be high enough when you finish the mission. The most likely time you'll get a miss is when closing the patient's widened lacerations, so take your time with that, and rush on the rest. Also, if two burrowed Kyriaki are near each other, don't make one big laceration to cut them both out, as that will count as a miss. Make two individual small cuts.

All it takes is practice, so keep at it and good luck!

I adore it. * w*

But I really hate how sensative it is.
You have to suture wounds and apply
bandages JUST right, and what would
be thought as "good", earns you a miss.

SO THEN YOU GO CRAZY AND THEN
START SCRIBBLING EVERYWHERE.

Then hey! Bam! It worked. -sigh-

AND.
I absolutely loathe disabeling that bomb.

How about "Trauma Center: It Just Won't Die!!"

That's how I feel about some of the missions in the UTK game it is hard as hell to get through them. :grey:

Remember when I said that I started the X missions already? Well, it turns out that I'm still in Chapter 6!
That means when I'm done that I will really start the X hard operations. Sorry for the confusion, unfortunately I won't be finished with UTK by the time I start SO something that I wanted to do before I got into it.

Even though it's the same game with a new doctor I still want to beat the original hard version first.

Triti will always be done with a healing touch for me at least until I can beat it without using the method the best rank I got in challenge mode was a B Rank where you encounter the first mutant strain and a C rank in the Third Sin with scores so low that it would make a new player's score better in comparison.

I hear rumors that New Blood is really short especially with CO-OP. I really hope that isn't true!

:grey: :grey: :grey: :grey:

Goes back to battle 6-3 and 6-5.

Heh, kidding. Probably something generic like Trauma Center series I guess.

Anyone know just how co-op works in New Blood? Is it just two doctors fighting over the tumors or more?

I want New Blood so badly, but I'm grounded right now and can't get it until December.

This is absolute torture for me. Under the Knife is, without a doubt, my favorite DS game and amongst my top five games overall. Second Opinion looks loads better, but it's easier and I don't feel connectd like I do with UtK. Still an absolute blast to play.

I really want to get NB and kick ass online. ;______;

And from what I've seen, the co-op consists of both doctors working together. Like, one could be cutting out tumours, while the other is keeping vitals aloft and finding new ones. Big emphasis on teamwork.

Hail, all of ye olde and newe Trauma Center fans. It has been quite some time since I've posted, so I'll be brief.

I've finished up New Blood a couple of days ago, and let me just say that it is utterly amazing compared to SO. The variety of operations is much greater, and I honestly love the work they did with the voice acting and character personalities. Most of the BGM is really good too, though I seem to be in the minority there as far as it being better than SO.

I don't have ANYONE to play with for Co-op, so I can't say first hand how it plays out, but from a certain team I HAVE seen, it looks MUCH easier than 1P is. And that would be saying something, because some of 1P is ridiculously hard, much more so than SO.

Then we have the WiFi leaderboards keeping some level of competitiveness. I'm not one for competitive things, as I just like training my speed, but if someone posts a brag, I honestly just lose it and go rape their score to spite them, or something along those lines.

Anyway, my guide will be added to GameFAQs on Monday, so refer to it if you need any help (though it needs some revisions currently) and you know how to reach me.

My WiFi board name is rather obvious, BTW. *Points to username*

In terms of controls, yes, it has the exact same controls as SO.

However, the variety of operations is much greater, the difficulty is greater in most cases, and as usual...well...if you read earlier in the topic you would know about Stigma. There's less of that than normal operations. It seems Atlus listened.

Heh. I've had an account here for a quite a while. I haven't actually come around since the board move though. I liked Invision better.

And yeah the youtube co-op videos leave me in utter awe. I have NO ONE to play co-op with around here though, and even if I did, I don't know if they could keep up with me.

Brandon Strong wrote:

Yeah, the new plot is pretty original. It takes place 10 years after the original Trauma Center. New characters with their own personalities. The male doctor inherited Derek's HT, and the Female has an improvised version of Weaver's. Her's actually freezes Vitals for the her duration of HT.

Derek and Angie do, however, make a Cameo appearance in 7-3 as the head surgeon of Caduceus Japan, and again in a special post game challenge operation. Its special for a reason, and don't want to spoil it if I can avoid it.

I barely recognized Derek when he showed up. Hair loss, anyone? :toupee:

While we're at it, I gotta thank you, Windy-kun, for your ultra-helpful guide. I have to agree with you on your praise for the game as well. The voice acting was awesome, and hearing people like Dr. Chen and the Culurumans speak just added to the flavor.
