Of course, I can argue that probably not all of the games that the composers worked on will be represented in game - I mean, there's Chrono Trigger, Ape Escape, Devil May Cry, Streets of Rage and Meteos there.
But hey, we can hope ;)

I just was looking through some of the songs and spotted Nobuo Uematsu was the Composition Supervisor for the Super Smash Bros Brawl Main Theme... for those who aren't in the know of VG music, Nobou is the composer for the Final Fantasy Music... another third party company : Square-Enix... maybe with the new to come release of FFXII Revenant Wings for the DS we can see some FFXII characters.

True, maybe an Advent Children Cloud. That would be cool. (Like his final attack on Sephiroth as his final smash!)
But ultimatly, the fact the Nobou is there means that Final Fantasy is a possiblity, and I just discovered that Nobou didn't do the music in FFXII, maybe some of it, what I have says someone else.

Well, to be fair, Cloud was an assistant in Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories. Sora could summon him to do wide-swing sword attacks.
But it would be ridiculous to have him be a PC because he was a cameo in CoM. It's much more likely Sora will be a playable character, mainly because he's the main character of CoM, and there's another KH game coming out on the DS.
Face it, with Mario, Snake, Sonic, AND Sora, this game could gross more money than 2007 and 2008 movie box offices.

My guess is that the coins are going to be used for gambling somehow like betting on mutliplayer/online matches.

Man, Today's update is certainly a nice one. I love to watch computer characters going at in Melee and now this is even better. Plus, I can profit from it even if I bet wrong. And the fact that it's optional to share your matches is nice for those who like privacy. And the sneaking in a few alter-costumes colors was a nice little touch.
I need to get me a blue cap just in case if I go broke in betting all of my coins.

Yes, Scrooge McDuck was a Capcom Character and so was Darkwing Duck. Personally, I would reather have DWD rather then Scrooge. Although, Scrooge would be fun, I think DWD would have better moveset.
Then again, getting the rights from Disney to use either character is very unlikely and give them pretty low chance of them making any kind of Brawl apperance.

For Capcom characters, I think that Mega Man, Jill Valentine, Viewtiful Joe, Phoenix Wright, and Maya Fey would be perfect characters. As for Scrooge... he started as a cartoon character, not a video game character, thus it is impossible for him to be a PC.

Congratulations, he's in.
Anyway, you'll have to wait for pretty much any of these characters. Capcom has to give permission first (of course, they'll have done it already if there's a character in, since the game is almost done, but officially), and I don't really think there will be more than 1 or maaaybe 2 third-party characters for one company. It's still a Nintendo game. If, say, a Capcom character would get in, I'd guess it was Megaman, and Phoenix Wright could be an AT.

Phoenix Wright (chances are GOOD!!!)

Ok, WHY do some of you people think Phoenix will be in brawl???? There is a small small small chance at MOST that he would be in it... I know hes cool, but as everyone else says, hes just not the right kind of character of this kind of game. (Chances are Very Very Very Very Very Very bad)
