Ok, WHY do some of you people think Phoenix will be in brawl???? There is a small small small chance at MOST that he would be in it... I know hes cool, but as everyone else says, hes just not the right kind of character of this kind of game. (Chances are Very Very Very Very Very Very bad)
Balrog's right, not only is phoenix not capcoms main guy to send into another companies game (that would be megaman), but he doesn't do any physical combat. notice that every character has been in a game that has some sort of pysical action in it. the only other characters who were't in a fighting based game were game and watch and c.falcon but they were what, NINTENDO CHARACTERS
Even if capcom was willing to put their characters in brawl, our chances of seeing him as an assist trophy are still slim to none

Mega-man is the most well known poster boy in Capcom. I heard that Nintendo is asking Capcom about possible characters in brawl.
Rush would be an assist trophy, him, Protoman Bass.

While I agree Phoenix hasn't got much of a chance, this isn't true. Captain Falcon came from a game where he didn't get out of his car, Mr. Game & Watch never even existed, Ice Climbers had their moveset made up, and the same goes for Zelda, Marth (and Roy), Fox (and Falco), and Peach.
Little Mac did not get in because he couldn't do much else than punching. People get in for moveset potential, not for physical combat ;)

Well, I agree on Ghost 'n Goblins being hard, but Mega Man?! It's probably the most well-balanced side scroller there is, difficulty wise. At least, if you look away from Mega Man 1, Mega Man 2 and Mega Man X6.

Well, that might be for the fact that Phoenix Wright is owned by Capcom and Animal Crossing is owned by Nintendo. (Although I don't think either are likely to get in as a playable.)

but still, all of the characters u mentioned were from a game or series that invovled physical action.
anyone who has played phoenix wright knows that the only action in phoenix wright is dialogue. In other words, NO ATTACKS, exept maybe objections, but they are also, dialogue

My guess would be it shoots up in the middle of the stage. Anyone hit by the iceberg directly takes damage, and has a chance of being frozen; higher damage, higher chance of being frozen.
This makes Zelda the only veteran character currently up to have her Final Smash announced. Still no details about Sheik... I wonder if Sheik would have a different FS... hmmmmm...

Oh, and about Phoenix Wright being a PC, I actually have thought of a great move-set for him. I know, you all think that anyone could have a moveset (I disproved that quite a few pages back, like how L-Block, several Pokémon, and others cannot have movesets), but if you'd like, I could give it a whirl and show you all a convincing PW move set, equipped with Final Smash, Taunts, Entrance, and others.

Yeah, everyone, and with that EVERYONE can have a good moveset. But that's not the point - Little Mac, Sukapon and Lip did not get in because they would have hard to make movesets overall. Plus, it's not just the moveset that's keeping PW from becoming playable >_>

it is a good one from what i've seen so far. there are a lot of final smashes that have a chance of not hitting, but this one is almost guaranteed to hit (serously, it covers almost the whole stage.)

hey, I was just reading that Wikipedia article, and it says that Kojima originally wanted Snake in Melee... but the game was already too far in development... Snake in Melee...

Well, I still think that having Captain Falcon, Mr. Game & Watch, Fox, and (possibly) an Animal Crossing character has proved that you don't have to have a physical combat record to be a playable character. This is a video game that takes many elements of Nintendo and turns it into a fighting game, after all. We have PictoChat as a stage, banana peel weapons, and other goofy elements that make this not just for Nintendo's best bruisers, but allows many different elements into the fray.
So yes, while there are reasons why Phoenix Wright wouldn't be a PC, I still hope. After all, there are people who hope for Master Chief, and we all can agree he's MUCH less likely to be in Brawl.

Now we finally have Training out of the way, and I notice that the old game modes are usually combined with double updates, which is considerate of them. And the Super Bomb... wooooo!

One the Phoenix in Brawl matter, I can seriously on see him as a AT yelling out objection and stunning everyone around him. If Nintendo and Capcom are talking we all Mega-man is going to be thrown into the mix, probably as a secret character.
Also, I never watched the Melee updates. Did they announce any of the secret characters to be in the game??

Actually, for a game to get rated by the ESRB, the developer has to send a build of the game that best represents what the whole game is like. It has nothing to do with merely sending the more explicit parts of a game, as that usually leads to incorrect/unfair ratings.
The ESRB probably got a build of the game not too different from the E for All demo, maybe one a little more advanced, probably with Snake and some of the online components unlocked for review. The "crude humor" bit probably comes from Snake's codec moments.

Yeah... But I just realized something, they can send in video footage of the game so they dont have to play it. Sometimes they send in demos though.
And Training mode... we can send in ANY item... Including Assisst trophies and most likely Final Smashes, so we can practice and get better with FSes.
EDIT: Yeah, they probably showed all of the footage and screenshots on the site... plus a little more...
Wait a second! If they do give the ESRB a little more... maybe somebody from the ESRB might tell it to someone... and then that person leaks it... although most of them probably are told as part of their job to keep it a secret... they could get fired, but there's a small chance (only if they gave them more than what is on the site) that someone leaks the information.
