I think the lives system that mostly gets used in classic platformer franchises like Mario and Sonic is outdated. Lives were used to limit your session time in arcade games and games without saving, but we've been able to save our games for over two decades. Could you imagine a game like Super Meat Boy having lives?

Super Meat Boy does have lives in some of the warp zones.

Pokémon needs an Eeveelution for every type! We're still missing Fight, Flying, Poison, Ground, Rock, Bug, Steel, Ghost and Dragon Eevees.

I'd imagine a Dragon-Eevee to be kind of purple-ish in color, maybe purple-teal as a combo, with spikey ears and a thick tail with a trident-shaped horn at the end. Evolution through... stone. Name: Dracoeon

Ghost-Eevee is white/silver with creepy red eyes. (And half-transparent, durr) Evolves into this by dying (or Leveling up... that seems more convenient) at a Pokémon Graveyard-like area. (Around Lavender Town, Mt Pyre, etc)

Bug-Eevee evolves through a Spore item that gets sprinkled onto it, looks green and has feelers on its head.

Steel-Eevee is metal, with sharp lines, like it looks like it could cut sharp like a razor. Evolves in a metal-heavy area, like around a heavy industrialized city.

Rock-Eevee has a scaley, darkish brown/gray look to it. Evolves when near a... Rock-Rock. Close to a mountain.

Ground-Eevee looks similar to Leafeon, only the ears flop down and look like flowing sand. Evolves through a transformation stone.

Poison-Eevee is purple, oozy in appearance. Level up + Poison Barb equipped causes transformation.

Flying-Eevee is pale blue, with white as the accessory color. Sprouts tiny wings on its back, how cute~ (It can fly... hey, if I can surf on a Zigzagoon, I can fly with an Eevee!) Evolves to Flying type by level up, while it has a flying-type attack. Like Peck. Name: Aeraeon

And Fighting-Eevee gets long, bunny-like ears that ball up into 'fists' at the end and has them high up, in order to punch with them. Orange-ish colored. Evolution through a stone.

You might as well just turn Spyro the Dragon into a Pokemon.

The main character of a very popular PSOne Platformer with the same name. Spyro and Crash Bandicoot were the go to platformers back in the day on the Playstation.
On April 3, 2016, Court Records Forums experienced a miracle upon that day.

I'll clarify my stance on lives. I think they have a place in a mode in which you need to beat all the levels in one sitting, like the old days. But not when you can just quit and save your progress, because getting game overs after dying too much breaks the flow even more.

I think it works in Mario, and nothing else, no clue why. Probably because it's just such an easy game that it needs to be somehow difficult?

Also, I finally beat LoZ2, now onto a Link to the Past, my second favorite in the Zelda series. :edgey:

I finished LBX. Surprisingly fun for a game meant to promote a toy-line. Plot is mostly comprised of points you've probably seen in several shonen anime, with a few mature moments thrown in. That said, I'm kind-of pissed that they introduced a character for a grand total of one chapter, then had him disappear, only to be replaced by someone else in the end. That, and...
Spoiler:
Half the main villain's motivation was because he discovered that power was actually in the hands of a small group of people pulling the strings behind the scenes. This is mentioned once and then never again.

I'm having a hard time remembering who your talking about here exactly.

Also i just thought i'd point out that the toyline was made to promote the game and not the other way around.

You know, when I first played Pokémon Y and got to the Elite Four, who mentioned that the champion was a 'she' ... I honestly thought Shauna had become champion. I thought it would have been nice, she even laments eventually that everyone on the journey has a goal, where as she just wants to make some nice memories. It would have been kinda neat, had Shauna realized she had no goal, but was intent on proving herself and became a super fresh champion, like, seconds before I got there.

Would've been better than Diana. Nothing against her, but she was so blah, I figured her only role was to be an actress who reject Lysandre's confusing plan of... suddenly beautiful world to immortality to KILL ALL POKÉMON (and pointless humans)

I'll admit, while I probably wouldn't have cared for the idea of Shauna being the Champion, I'll agree that I didn't think much of Diantha turning out to be the Champion. My reaction was pretty much "Oh, hi, Diantha! Fancy meeting you here," followed by an awkward silence as I realized I had nothing further to say.

It's supposed to be obvious, because she was the only NPC with an important design... which, honestly, I find pretty stupid of a reason to give. As I mentioned, she had her important scene of being talked to by Lysandre and made much of. She reappears when talking to Sycamore, but other than that... she's a non-entity. The previous champions - your Rival in Gen I, Steven in Emerald - even Wallace in R/S, Cynthia in Gen IV, they all had much more important roles and appeared throughout.

I kinda miss having the rival be... you know, an actual rival. In X/Y, Serena/Calem are so-so, they just do things and fight you. The rival in Gen I had a petty hatred for you, so he wanted to prove he had a bigger wiener he was better. I believe the opponent in Gen II, 'Silver', fought you because he hated you, cause he was brought up to do so... But Gen III onward, the rivals just teetered into... friends.

I mean, I don't mind that all too much, but there's no real... reason to fight the rival anymore. It's just, "Hoho, another rival battle, good show, ol' chum" and then you're off again. (I'll be honest, I don't see why anyone would count anyone other than Serena/Calem as the rival in X/Y)

I wanted to get Project X Zone 2 after seeing Phoenix and Maya were going to be in it, but wasn't sure since I didn't like the first game all that much. Then I watched a trailer today and...

Me: Holy hell...CHROM AND LUCINA ARE GOING TO BE IN THIS GAME? *Explodes*

That's it. I'm getting this game when it comes out.

Because she makes better sense as a team-up with KOS-MOS. And fanservice.

For me, Segata Sanshiro and Ryo Hazuki are definitely the surprise additions that managed to pull me over together with Phoenix/Maya. Now I'm even hoping for a Segagaga reference...
