That's essentially left to right.

If that´s the case you´d better steel your resolve oliver. If you start liking the characters and feel the genuine feels when you reach the ´true pacifist ending´ you´ll get tormented on your neutral run. This game is exceptional at making you feel like a terrible person if you don´t play nice.

Spoiler: my 2nd ´genocide´ run and my feels
I wanted to do both pacifist and genocide routes. Thing is I didn´t look up how to properly do this. In the first game I just spared everyone and in the latter game I killed everything I saw. BUT IF YOU DON´T COMPLETELY WIPE OUT EVERYONE YOU´LL GET A NEUTRAL ROUTE. So not knowing my mistake I got every character basically saying: You killed my friends, I get your reason, but fucking hell I hate you so much.

I don't think I ever felt this bad about playing a game. Honestly I was depressed for half a day by this, but I respect that the game could evoke that much emotion for this relatively small game and simple story.

Yes, I've heard that from a lot of people.

Also, your avatar is awesome.

Hah! Off the top of my head, can't think of another game that has NPCs reacting like that.

Hey, I'm not leaving practically half the game untouched because a pixelated flower told me to do so. In addition you'll never get to hear the best song in the game combined with the hardest boss, so everybody is going to have to die unfortunately

Eh my curiosity was sated with just finding out where the other tracks on the OST played "Battle against a True Hero" and "Megalovania". Watching those, I felt ok.

Thanks, I love it when shows make Street Fighter references. My favorite Gravity Falls episode also did it when that arcade character came into 'reality', fun stuff.

Earlier today I got to play a game of League of Legends with Geranimo~

He's a challenger player (and Twitch streamer), meaning he's legit one of the best players in the world. He was playing on PBE (the beta-testing server), so he was just friending + inviting everybody. I even got to lane with him, got him super-fed, and he said he liked playing with me~ (because every time he wanted to do something stupid and go ham I'd go right in with him)

I have no idea who that is and I haven't played League of Legends more than like 5 minutes, but I'm really bloody jealous...

It's October 30th and I picked up my pre-order of Devil Survivor 2: Record Breaker.
Neat. I hope it retains an option to turn voice acting off, like in Overclocked, cause I do not want any English voices.

I'm on Day 3 in DeSu 2 and have difficulty with Bortis. Yeah, I know, it's a Level 37 demon when I'm only at Level 20, but I've defeated it on new playthroughs before. I was putting points into the protagonist's magic, but I think I'll start the game anew and alter his fighting style... not sure into what. Fumi and Otome are amazing mages, with Otome having more survivability. And Hinako is my go-to woman for agility-physical stuff. Then again, I could make the protagonist that... And the game tends to give you mages at first - Io, Joe and Airi, all more emphasis on magic than attack.

Recently, I've found myself "protesting" pointless apostrophes in the names of characters by actually pronouncing the names as though the apostrophes mean something. Usually, I treat the apostrophe as either a glottal stop or a transliterated "ь" depending on the letters around the apostrophe. It's just a minor annoyance of mine for apostrophes to be put in names as a means of making them look more exotic.

Like Ken'ichi? Personally, I can't stand it when apostrophes are misused. You do not use an apostrophe to make a word plural! The apostrophe is there as a means for possessive indication. Or misspelling words where the apostrophe would be - like lil' when it should be li'l because the apostrophe is there to replace the two Ts.

If Ken'ichi is a Japanese name, it's actually fairly common practice to write it like that (to make sure people don't read it as ke-ni-chi, instead of ke-n-i-chi). You don't see that writing practice often in games though (probably because it takes up another character in the box), but you'll see the (correct) apostrophe ib Japanese names/terms often in literature/academic writings.

True, yes, it was in reference to a Japanese name I stumbled over recently. Can't remember from where, though.

I restarted Devil Survivor 2 and opted to make the protagonist AGI/STR based, so Multi-Hit and Multi-Strike hit nicely. And I managed to defeat Botis this time around, though it was a long, painful battle, cause he resists Physical and I had to prolong until he ran out of MP to cast Diarama, as well as him to stop killing things, which recovered some HP and MP.

Started playing Tales of Symphonia is a friend, and... jesus christ why is this game so hard?! Seriously, we get our butts kicked by the upper-level random encounters, and are having tons of trouble with even the sub-bosses.

The weirdest part is that I've played ToS before, and don't remember it being nearly this tough.

Free run was probably the greatest single innovation in the Tales franchise.

Are you playing the PS3 version or GC? And on what difficulty? If it's the former platform, recall that it's the updated re-release from the PS2. The AI was just made smarter.

I know I have to do it for the Triumphant title in DeSu 2 (for my LP and Record Breaker), but I just don't think I can stand doing Jungo's fate link scenes. I did them once and they made me hate him. Then again, no need to worry about it for Record Breaker now... no real plan on which route to go for, but Triumphant will not be achieved in a first playthrough.

Devil Survivor 2, then. I would say the regular Devil Survivor, too, but that one lacked the Compendium. It made it annoying to upgrade your demons, cause you'd need to re-fuse them again and again, instead of just summoning them from there. But the story and battle system were still pretty good. As for DeSu 2, it was already good on the DS. (And despite having a 2 in the title, it's not a sequel, so there is no real continuity to worry about)

Ouendan
EBA
Hotel Dusk/Last Window
999
Bowser's Inside Story
World Ends with You
Prof. Layton and the Unwound Future
Pokemon Black 2/White 2 (though I personally had more fun with Black/White, the sequels are probably better games)

If you include ports, Dragon Quest 5, Final Fantasy 4, and Chrono Trigger are great

I imagine the Ace Attorney games go without saying, considering the forum we're on. Let's see... other than those games, these ones also stand out in my memory:

Pokémon Diamond/Pearl/Platinum
Pokémon HeartGold/SoulSilver
Pokémon Conquest
Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass
Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks
Kirby: Squeak Squad
Kirby: Super Star Ultra
Advance Wars: Dual Strike
Harvest Moon: The Tale of Two Towns
Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story
Mario & Luigi: Partners in Time
Rune Factory: A Fantasy Harvest Moon
Wario: Master of Disguise

If you like sidescrollers, I rather enjoyed the Mega Man ZX games and the Mega Man Zero collection. If you're more into rpg-esque games, you might give MegaMan Star Force a shot, although the battles are real-time instead of turn-based, and you only get stronger by collecting more powerful battlecards from shops and enemies. EXP isn't a thing in this series.

Mario Kart DS is also good
And my personal favorite, Radiant Historia.

Ditto. Which is why I listed an RPG that has replay value in it. It's an RPG, so you have some time to go through the story and with DeSu 2, you also have the Death Videos that, if you don't manage to unlock the scene of the battle to save them early enough, the character is dead for the duration of the game. Leads to some slight differences. (Unfortunately, I cannot let Ronaldo do, though I'd really like to...)

Just swung by to make sure "The World Ends with You" was here, Franzise has not disappointed me.

Well there's a lot here not sure I've got any new to add.

But I cannot restate "The World Ends with You" enough, it's a super unique and super interesting game, the likes of which we probably won't see again.

Since you can play them on a DS however: Check out the GBA Golden Sun series, those are fantastic.

Outside of what's been recommended so far, I'd give Picross 3D or Dragon Quest: Rocket Slime a try. The DS is probably my favorite game system just because of how much gold exists for it.

Man, the hardest bossfight was a pretty thrilling. I completed the whole 'genocide' run. I'll spoiler just in case, but if you ever want to do a genocide run yourself I recommend you read it.
Spoiler: complete genocide run
First of all: the fight against Sans was pretty rough, but I managed to beat him on my 11th try (Sans mocks you everytime you retry with counting your previous deaths, so it's easy to keep track). I expected it to be harder, but maybe I've gotten quite good at the game :godot:. If anyone doesn't know about the fight click this link if you want to see what trial I went through. FYI it's impossible to grind either more or less levels for this fight, so you can't power through this one.

So at the end of the game, and this is important if you want to do this yourself, the game asks you to erase the entire world. The game crashes after that and when you restart you'll be treated of literally 10 minutes of black screen with loud static. After the wait the game offers you to recreate the world if you give your own soul in return. Giving your soul roughly translates to: Never being able to get the 'best pacifist' ending and everyone will basically mistrust you.
I want to show the good ending to my friends, so I tried to dig deep into my files and delete the saves, but the game won't let you. THE GAME WON'T LET YOU TINKER WITH YOUR OWN FILES. I had to spend nearly 2 hours finding and executing a guide on how to properly reset everything. It worked, but man that was a LOT of trouble.
So for future reference: If you do a genocide run: reset the game immedeately after you kill flowey (or sooner, like before assgore fight), if I read correctly this should prevent a 'tainted save file'.

At the very least this achievement will be locked in my personal game highlights. Now I'm satisfied with the game for a while.

Hrm hrm...in a way it's a shame that nothing can be sacred. As well as this game tries to avoid it, even it is not immune to the ravages of hackers messing with the game.

I think it's a shame you couldn't accept the consequences and had to hack the game to block it but congratulations on beating the hardest boss. I hear there's special mocking dialogue if you erase the game file and start again right after you kill them.

I get what you're saying, but it's still a game and I want to play it my way. If the game had a way to reset everything in-game I would definitely love to do that. I probably want to play this game again with some friends and I want to have the best ending available then, so even if this is exactly not what the creator had in mind I'll delete some files to get a new clean slate.

Also: I checked the Terms of Agreement. As long as I don't spread my files on the internet I'm free to adjust what I want, at least legally speaking.

Surely it would have been easier to just delete the game in it's entirety, wipe the files from your computer and install afresh?

I mean it took like 5 minutes to download for me because the assets are all pretty simplistic.

You thought you could be safe in your courts, with your laws and attorneys to protect you. In this world only I am law, my word is fact, my power is absolute.

Nah nah nah Pierre. If you simply delete your local content (or uninstall the game) the game will still regain your player data. I went as far as looking for the game data in my appcache folder (where additional files are stored) and even if you delete those then those files return when you start up the game. Even when you turn off the cloud computing mode from steam off and then delete all the files for some reason this game is able to keep your player data.

I was lucky to find a trick that only works once, when you wait the 10 minutes after the genocide run and do what allows you to play again. My point being, if you think getting a clean slate is easy you're definitely wrong.
Face your emptiness don't be afraid. The danger is often smaller than your fear.

Heh well credit to him for trying at least. It's pretty impressive how well he locked it up to prevent manipulation. Felt sure there would be a way to reset everything to Zero via Steam
