I haven't played it yet, but from what I've seen and heard, it's like the videogame version of that game where you have to take things out of someone and, if you touch the ridge, you get buzzed. Also, visual novel style story and interactions, I think.

Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess...
And Skyward Sword. Damn lack of left handed support for that game! It was way too difficult to slice correctly when every action with your left hand is off centre, and you're not all that co-ordinated with your right!

My suggestion for Twilight Princess: play the GC version. The Wii version is................. *cough* not good.

Counter-suggestion: The Wii Version is totally fine.

Though given your complaint about the handedness of the swinging you probably already tried the Wii version. Wonder if that Motionplus add-on improves the quality of the motion sensor for all games?

No, it doesn't help. Because the waggling is a game mechanic, not something that got altered just cause the Motionplus was added to your WiiMote. If they wanted to change it and make it more precise, like in Skyward, I guess they'd need to really alter the game itself... maybe bring out a patch that updates it, but I dunno. It might be a bigger thing than that.

As for the Wii version... meh... eh... I just don't like what they did with it. Mirroring the entire world, just so that Link is right-handed? That felt silly to me, why can't he just stay left-handed? If Lefties have to succumb to the Righties' world, I want the Righties to have to think of how to much their hand and how Link will move then. It'd be brain training!
...although I don't know if simply holding the WiiMote in the left hand would help, I'm a righty, after all.

The motion controls just seem so... pointlessly shoved in. They're not very good - okay, this was before motion plus, but still. Waggle. Waggle waggle waggle. I guess it's just the small parts in the Wii version that bug me. Link being right-handed (something I don't enjoy about Skyward, either), the world being mirrored, that stupid little fairy cursor on the screen... and hitting the far-off pole in that bow mini-game in Kakariko village was actually kind of an accomplishment on the GC version. In the Wii version, just follow the cursor.

Then again, maybe it's just cause I'm too used to gyro used in Skyward, compared to IR in TP (and I think Link's Crossbow Training, too... there, the motion controls just felt so off to me)

This wasn't just 'before motion plus' this was LAUNCH title. It was there to show the motion controls, the game would have been panned if it hadn't shown off the features of the new console. On the plus side I always found it pretty decent for aiming but I quite like lightgun games so maybe that's just me.

As for Link being right handed? Meh not something to lose sleep over, every Link is a different incarnation anyway nothing to say he can't be.

*shrug* I just am used to the idea of Link being left-handed. I think another reason I dislike the Wii version so much is because it just incorporates the parts I disliked with more parts in the Wii version I didn't like. Next to the freaking weird feeling controls, I had the disappointing villain AND Romance Plot Tumor under my nose, it just bothers me too much.

If I recall, I think the Gamecube version is more "complete" than the Wii version, as in the Wii version has more bugs and glitches that are much more easily exploitable than in the Gamecube version. Heck, you can pretty much cheese the 50 floor challenge dungeon in the desert by snuffing the torches in the Wii version as they forgot to take that out from testing. The reason I prefer the Gamecube version to the Wii version is strictly because I like playing Link using a controller rather than using motion controls.

If I manage to get $130 I'll go out and buy it, but it's way too expensive, and I already own the Wii version.

On the whole thing, It's just not easy to control on the Wii. And the point of Link being left-handed makes it even more odd the option wasn't in Skyward Sword! Ah well... I've watched my brother beat Skyward Sword, sso at least I know how that ends, but Twighlight princess is still something I really need to get a move on in!

Also, Motion plus in Skyward Sword did nothing. It just made it less easy to swing the sword! All that awkward flailing around :meekins:

Seriously? I thought the motion controls in Skyward were just fine. Maybe it's cause it was the first Wii game I played with mandatory motion controls, but I think they worked really, really well. When I went from Skyward to Link's Crossbow Training, as I said, it felt so awkward and like the tiniest twitch in my wrist (which can happen frequently) the cursor went flying almost off the screen.

Eh it's not so bad for me I found it quite satisfying finding all the fish to map out every area which means treasure hunting is a doddle now. Only thing I need to do is find that ghost ship. Also if anyone knows a way to improve my Magic bar in that game I'd mighty appreciate it.

Eh, I find it boring because you sail around so much to find charts, which you then have to decipher and THEN you sail around some more to finally find the shards. (At least in the GC version) I know they were running out of time and had to cut out, I think, 2 temples, but this was just a really, really bad move to make. I was so sick and tired of sailing around after the Wind Temple.

As for magic, you need to defeat the Big Octo with 2 (or was it 4) eyes, who ate the big fairy of magic. I think he's close to 2 Reef Isle?

Yeah, Cat's right, you need to find the 4-eyed Octo. He's in the section straight east of Outset Island I believe where the Earth Temple dungeon is. Just look for the group of seagulls and he'll be there. Because he has only 4 eyes, he will suck you in faster, but it's still easier to beat.

In the Wii U version, they cut it out to where you only have to find 3 Triforce charts and the rest of the shards you just find. Cuts out the tedium a bit and costs you less rupees. Still, I didn't find it tedious in the Gamecube version, but I loved sailing in the game. Now if I had to watch somebody do all the Triforce collecting, I'd probably be tearing my eyes out.

Thanks now I'll be able to sort that 'flying' minigame when I boost my magic.

Also yeah the WiiU version you get given a chart which shows you where most of the shards are and where the remaining Triforce Charts are located.

This is so weird. When I was still a wee lad and ordering online was still considered 'scary' so I went to a local game store to see if they had Ace Attorney. I brought a gaming magazine (Power Unlimited) with me to show what kind of game I was looking for, since it had an article about AA in it. The shop employee gave me a puzzled look and told me he never heard of it and they didn't have it, so he recommended Trauma Center to me 'since they looked similar'. So I kinda played that game for the same reason as you.

Speaking of Trauma Centre, may as well stick it on this list for me, I just found the precision and timing required to play the game too difficult. Granted I didn't give it too long a chance and maybe it just had to 'click' for me but it was a borrowed game so I had little time.

Though that's a pretty cool story, nice of the guy to help you out like that

I started playing the original Trauma Center on DS like two years ago, but never finished it. I got stuck on where you have to do multiple operations in succession around town. Man was that difficult.

I'm wondering what the Wii version is like. A touchscreen just seems more precise to me. Speaking of which, they should do a TC game on Wii U.

Maybe not defeated in the traditional sense, but there is one game on my blacklist... that game is Fairytale Fights (no relation to the anime). That game was so boring I couldn't bring myself to play further. All the game is walking with the left stick and mashing the right stick in a direction to attack. Even when I brought a friend for local co-op the game didn't got any better.

I really hate this game.

TC for the Wii actually (for me at least) seems functional, since you use the motions controls for all the procedures instead of the DS Stylus.

That being said the new artwork fro Trauma Center: Second Opinion looks like garbage compared to the original TC on the DS

I agree. The second one for the DS practically caused me to tear up my screen with my stylus. That shit goes fast. Trauma Team defeated me about four years ago on one of the very last endoscopy levels; I tried so hard but truly couldn't make in time. It's a shame, really, because I was so close to being done of the game. But I don't have the motivation to go back now because it's been years.

I must admit that even if Team is the easiest one in the serie, the endoscopy mission made me cringed the most because you need to move constantly at some point and at the same time, you have to be careful to not touch those damned walls. Also those special tumors... :dahlia: I think for the last one I cheated and did it at easy (shame on me!). But the original center has defeated me too... on DS and on Wii. I know now I will never become a doctor :will:

Another game that have defeated me would be Mario bros, any of the main serie. I just suck at platformers and it make me wonder if I'm considered a casual now that I can't even beat the first Mario Bros. And Wind Waker, but only because I can't find all those triforce pieces. I can't aim with that damned boat. Oh and Tetris, because I just suck at Tetris...
Please don't hit me...

Eh. Trauma Center 1 isn't that bad once you fight past the really annoying zoom controls. The X-missions are pretty brutal, but... With enough practice you can beat them all.

Trauma Center 2 (on Easy) is actually pretty easy. I mean... You get dat 20 vital gain when using the stabilizer, and bleeding barely affects anything... The time limit is always plenty enough... So... That game isn't too bad either.

On hard... I can see issue for some of the missions, but still, it isn't too awful. xP

UtK2's X missions are brutal though. I honestly still have no idea how I beat X5 and X6... But whatevs, I beat it fair and square. xP

Oracle of Seasons. Not that the game was difficult, but because I got bored of it after barely two dungeons.

I also feel like putting Oracle of Ages onto this because... well, I'm not a puzzle buff. I'm not terrible at puzzles, per se, I just get frustrated with them after a while or I think differently and get stuck, cause it's not working out... and I repeatedly ask myself why I even made Ages into an LP...

Regarding Trauma center, this is all I will say. That is excactly the reason I failed the first operation several times.

Tsk! beginner mistake, always use antibiotic gel before you apply bandages!

Nah man, I feel your pain. In my case I completed the surgery and only needed to close the wound at the end when the timer ran out. This game is brutal.
Face your emptiness don't be afraid. The danger is often smaller than your fear.

Sonic Advance 3. Like the classic games, you need to get all 7 Chaos Emeralds via Special Stages. The problem is the last one. You need to collect about 280 rings, and there's about 286 attainable in the stage, so there is little margin for error, because there are obstacles and enemies everywhere.

9 years later and I still can't beat it.
