Mace Griffin: Bounty Hunter... I mean, how can a game with Henry Rollins voicing the main character SUCK this much!?

Only a few video game related stuff scares me. The undead zombies on Conker's Bad Fur Day used to scare me, but they don't anymore. Manfred Von Karma is incredibly scary and evil, his "Objection" made me jump and nearly scream the first time I heard it, he sounds way too evil. The only time Franziska Von Karma scared me was at this point in Justice For All:

Spoiler:
When she knocked out Phoenix by whipping him I had to make an effort to convince myself to play again :(

Oh yeah, and one time my older brother left a rented copy of Evil Dead (based off the Evil Dead movies with Ash in them) on and it started playing in demo mode and the main character started hacking people apart and it was really bloody. That's the scariest thing I've ever seem in a video game, because it was so realistic.

Usually I make it a point to avoid anything scary, including video games, so I've never seen or heard of any of those games people have mentioned, like Silent Hill, or Resident Evil.

I have to agree with those people who say ReDeads are scary. They still give me some shivers, but I laugh at them now.

Once when I was playing Windwaker, I was crawling around in that maze that was under the island that school teacher on Windfall Island gives you, if I remember correctly. There was one part where there were ReDeads in the room. In this part, you dropped in from the top. So I go and drop in, and the next thing I hear is the ReDead's scream. I flinched so badly, and went mad killing the ReDead. After that, I made it a point to kill the damn ReDeads in that room everytime.

And when I was four, I was scared of dying in Bomberman. I used to watch my father play, and everytime he died I ran out of the room. I dunno what exactly scared me, I think it might have been the music. And I also distantly remember being scared of Dr. Robotnik, for I don't know what reason. :payne:

Call me a wimp, but the old Army Men games used to give me nightmares. I was like four at the time, watching my dad play, and I was always convinced that the army men were going to come to life and attack me in my sleep.

Spyro: Enter the Dragonfly scared the crap out of me in that farm/space level. Giant warping cows just appeared out of nowhere, scared the crap out of me.

Alex Rider scared me too, but for a completely different reason. It was so AWFUL that it wasn't even funny. It was scary that someone could pass this off as a GAME!

I thought that Shadow Hearts: From the New World is supposed to be funny and whimsical right? It is except for the that all of the enemies look like they wandered over from Silent Hill? That scared the crap out of me.

Once I get over something scary in a video game I get used to it and fight back with whatever weapon I have be it camera or a plank with a nail it.

However, I am always scared of the Smiling Faces in Killer 7 maybe it is because you have to scan them find their weak point and hope they die. Or it could be the buggy controls on the Ps2 the one error that makes me reload my gun constantly while the Smiles laugh while they huff and puff right up to me and explode in my face. :beef:

Maybe I was a little unsettled when I first came into a room that was the aftermath of a Smile explosion with blood everywhere and a dead person in the corner. To make things worse Smilies always respawn after you leave the room they always come at you all at once making aiming for their weak spot time consuming and increasing the risk of dying.

Garcia can come after your corpse but he will have to go in the same room that you had trouble with and when he goes down it is game over.

I am looking forward to Suda working on Fatal Frame 4 game and if it is as disturbing as some of the things in this games then I will walk away a happy fan.

Ugh... the redeads from OoT. I was screaming on the inside, and I just wanted to get out of there the first time they started to walk towards me. *shudder*

Also, the mummies from A Link to the Past also scared me, as they could just pop up next to you in the dark.

In PhantomGlass, I didn't like how those reaper bird things would stalk you. :<

I haven't played a lot of scary games, but I do hate monsters that creep towards you when your sight is limited and are incredibly hard to get rid of.

American McGee's Alice. That was a freaky game. The game enviroment, the music, the opening trailer, that little booklet that was basically the notes on Alice's mental state... even the game load screen was creepy. I could never even bring myself to play it.
You expect the culprit to be the least suspicous person, but the culprit expects you to think that way. Or do you expect him to expect your expectation?

It was so unexpected, I should have expected it.

Playing a demo of the first Silent Hill for the first time.
Just imagine how freaked out I was when I ran into that dead end with a hanging body on the fence, then ambushed by those weird freaky looking things.
Then, imagine what was going through my mind when I found that the only way out was closed out!

Someone else mentioned this (and I just spent an hour reading the ENTIRE TOPIC), but Adam from Second Opinion freaks me out to this day. First time he appeared I jumped and I think I screamed a little. "Floating... zombie... thing..."

Spoiler: X Missions
When you get started on the X Missions and Adam talks to you, that scared me really badly. I mean, he says some cool stuff, but it SCARES me. "Floating... TALKING... zombie... thing..."

Rawr...Honestly, I was scared when I played the first Phoenix Wright game 'cause it was the first time I've ever played a game involving murder and things...and some of the murder/crimescene pictures cared me and kinda got me paranoid (when i had to go to the bathroom at night, i always think there was someone behind me and I would always look at all the directions before I walk out of my room) Since the bathroom is down the hall from my room and there's an empty room before the bathroom (it used to be my grandma's), I always get the feeling that someone is there...lol x] It also gave me nightmares hahaha...but i still loved the game <33! :D It's only during the first game though, games 2,3, and 4 didnt give me nightmares/scared me...xD maybe 'cause i got used to it and probably 'cause I got obessed with the series xD

I don't remember any other games that scared me...but then again, I have a really bad memory xDD :bellboy:

Depends... What kind of scared?

The Sorrow fight in MGS3 scared me mentally...

As for scared scared,
Resident Evil 4 - Garrador, mostly the first one. And also all Regenerators and Iron Maiden.

In my point of view F.E.A.R is not scary, surprising maybe, but not scary.

The by far scariest game ever is Penumbra: Overture... Those dogs are just creepy and there's not one place in the game where you feel secure.
And the ending was the worst thing ever.

Also Ocarina of Time, First time I went outside the temple of time as grown up Link. And the redeads.

Not too many games have scared me, per se, but I got PLENTY that have totally freaked me out.

Topping that list is Earthbound.... Giygas, 'nuf said. Playing the game at 2am and staring at the background for a bit starts to wear at one's sanity after a while.
Too lazy... hur hur.

I was flipping through some old game videos on youtube and I found the final fight of Luigi's Mansion. It's still creepy to see Bowser's head come flying off like that...

Sword of Sodan: it is a very old hack and slash for Amiga. It was quite difficult and violent (it was 1990...) and some parts were scary, especially the catacombs and the final battle.

Doom: during the last level of the first episode, when you get into a chamber and then, suddenly, the portal of Hell swings open and the bosses come out crying loudly. It was a tense scene for a nine years old kid. :larry:

Floormasters are the things of my NIGHTMARES.

Are those the things that snatch from the ceiling?

The music in Shadow Hearts. And some of the enemies... like those headless dogs. And lots of the locations, actually.

Do you mean SH 3: From the New World?

I hated the Judges from FFXII, Hojo from FFVII and Seymour from FFX. Eew.

And probably more. I get scared pretty easily, mind.[/quote]

For some reason, Wallmasters from LoZ have always scared the living HELL out of me. Every time I see one in a room, I think, "Oh, God. DDDDDDDDD: "

And then when I actually enter the room and then see the shadow, I'm like "OMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMG AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGH" ...Even though when and if it gets me, it's not really that bad. :yuusaku:

The Redeads are freakish for the same reason. I think any monster in Zelda that sneaks up on you and "gets you" freaks me out. D:

Oh, and that really scared me, too, KL. I was like, "NOOOOOOOOOO, don't die, Phoenix!! I don't want to play Apollo Justice just yet!!! D':"

Edit: It's okay! XD Thanks!

Definantly the first Fatal Frame. Played that when I was about 13/14, and couldn't sleep until I beat it, which was a long time. I had this paranoia that one of the ghosts were going to get me in my sleep. >.<

The first half of Clock Tower 3 was disturbing (then they made it all weird). That man with the giant Hammer? Yeah... I would never want to cross paths with him.

And... Silent Hill series is creepy man. 4 just freaks me out because I live in an apartment by myself now. I don't need Walter coming out to carve numbers into my body. Not cool.

Pokemon Crystal. Go to Ruins of Alph, and turn on the radio. Search for a while to find a station named "???" and listen to it for a while. You will hear rather creepily put together sounds of Unowns on that station. It scared me couple of years ago, and it still creeps me out. And I found that game again few days ago and I had totally forgotten about it before I went there again and turned the radio on :adrian:.

That only got me at all when I realized I was playing it in the same room as a massive mirror, and every time Kirie came out of the mirror at me on the screen it reflected in my own.

I've probably been scared by more, but this is the only one I remember:

Resident Evil 4.

Why? Well, on top of my friend getting his head chopped off five times in a row, I was watching my brother's friend play it at the house.... and then our (real) window got shot. WTFH.

I just remembered this one.
Trauma Center.
Well, yes, it scared me a little.
Because? For one thing, I don't like hospitals much and for another:

Me: ...Yay, I'm saving someone's life. ^^
Nurse: Yay, you're doing great! ^^
Me: *slips*
Demon Nurse: OMG, WTF! YOU'RE KILLING HIM! GO AWAY! I'LL FIX THIS!

In fact... that reminds me, Cooking Mama. O_o

Me: ...Yay, I'm making Pizza. ^^
Mama: Yay, you're doing great! ^^
Me: *drops pizza on floor*
Demon Mama: OMG, WTF! YOU'RE KILLING MY PIZZA! GO AWAY! I'LL FIX THIS!

See a connection here? :yuusaku:
I couldn't stand either of them for very long...

Blood, a First-Person Shooter for the PC, particularly when I played it at nighttime. I can think of no other game that creeped me out more than Blood. When I first came across it, it did tend to spook me a lot back then, notably with mysterious whispers going on in normally quiet rooms, enemies jumping out of nowhere and attacking, and the soundtrack was eerie too. Had lots of really nasty looking monsters that, while they didn't induce nightmares, still made me feel rather imposed when I encountered them.

I got used to it afterwards, but I had a better time with this game than when I was playing Doom 3. I wish I could play Blood again, but it's not compatible at all on my current OS, and it doesn't work well with DOSBox last time I tried it... or at least, I think... It's been a long time. It probably is and I forgot.

I know it sounds stupid, but Ragnarok Online. It was when Nifleheim was just implemented, and I didn't know how to get there. I was just trying the Umbala bungee jumping when I was suddenly transported to Nifleheim. And my speakers were turned off so it was much creepier to me... I guess I was too absorbed in the game, but the thoughts of seeing an armless swordsman, a spirit that sucks your life out, a zombie that eats your flesh THEN gives you a quest item... DDDDD: I was so freaked out!
