This forum's spoiler rules do not currently apply to Undertale, though it is still in bad taste to put spoilers for a recently-released (and immensely popular) game in one's avatar and/or signature.

I'd think if anything the spoiler rules should be MORE strict about non-Ace Attorney related things since at least as far as Ace Attorney, you should be aware of the chance of being spoiled for browsing a forum dedicated to the series

Agreed, I don't share Danny's viewpoint on spoilers and as a fan site dedicated to a specific game its inevitable other games get discussed casually as well. I'd like a standardised ruleset or policy regarding spoilers in general on the forum.

Right now there's nothing stopping me from looking up the end of a game someone is playing and spoiling it from them other than a slight bit of disapproval. Would be nice to have a bit of protection for things like that.

As far as Undertale is concerned too, I believe in the files of Undertale, Toby has stated not to release any sprite sheets until a year after the game has been out because of spoilers. I'd gather that was his intended time until spoilers for the rest of the game too but..... internet.

Still, I think with spoilers in general, at least 6 months to a year is a good wait personally. It gives people enough time to hear about the game and play it through themselves. 1 month or 2 is waaaay to short to hold out before spoilers imo.

I'm lucky I played Undertale myself a few weeks ago because right now I'd honestly be ticked stumbling upon this and seeing all these spoilers. It'd discourage me from ever buying or supporting the game because those spoilers took all the fun out of it for me.

And I agree with Fran about how spoilers should be MORE strict for games that are not AA. It really, really sucks when I wanna go through topics like this, and I stumble upon spoilers on games I'm interested in. Like in my example above with Undertale, it kills any motivation I have for ever wanting to play and enjoy a game because the spoilers killed it for me. At least on here, I know I can expect AA spoilers so I know where to tread, but for other games, it's really hard. And I can't ignore it either because it's right in front of my face.

Then again, I know everyone treats spoilers differently. But, for myself, unless it's a super popular game that everyone knows the twists to or Ace Attorney because I know everyone on here has played them, I try to use spoiler tags when I can because I know if I hate being spoiled, I'm sure others do too.
On April 3, 2016, Court Records Forums experienced a miracle upon that day.

It's been almost 20 years since Aerith got stabbed by Sephi's sword and some forums still remove your posts for not covering up that spoiler.

I was introduced to her through Kingdom Hearts, so I've grown accustomed to calling her "Aerith." Recently, though, I've come to favor a different spelling: Æryþ.

Aeris always looked super stupid to me. Always makes me think of the spell Air Thrust エーアスラスト from Tales. I much prefer Aerith, it at least looks a little less stupid. (Though what was the point of giving the player an option to change character names in VII? Aside from leaving me the option to label Cait Sith as Judas, as he should be called, it served no good purpose...)

So, I've been noticing a lot of Undertale talk on here recently. I have a question for you guys. What are your opinions on Comic Sans, Papyrus, and Wingdings as fonts after playing it?

I always consider using Wingdings as 'alien' language in videogames to be subliminal messages that insult my family or talk nonesense.

That's like asking intense shippers to please not ship people who are not officially labeled as being in a relationship with each other, and to not start shipping wars. It ain't gonna happen.

Pretty much. For you, it ruins the desire to play a game. For me, it could lead to me playing the game to see how soon a hint could start up. A lot of people say Tales of the Abyss makes the major revelations at the end of the first arc much more obvious on a second playthrough, because it now allows a player to see all the hints that were strewn around. (Which I disagree, I saw those hints on a first playthrough...)

I only have close to 2 Million Gald debt left to pay off in Xillia 2. I can pay those off, get that obnoxious scene out of the way, so I can get the titles/trophies for it and then go through... :larry: the Land of Canaan again :larry: ...and get the other ending, then I could just do NG+. Because fuck the bonus dungeon.

Yeah this exact same thought actually occurred to me. I mean it wasn't until I was finished with the game that I uncovered anything about Megalovania and the character it relates to. In fact this was one of the things that put me off the likes of Dangan Ronpa with all the obviously evil looking characters in the avatars being portrayed cuddling the villainous mascot while grinning maniacally.

As for the folks who enjoy spoilers about games and find they might motivate them to play something like Cat does. Then tighter spoiler rules on other games wouldn't affect them at all really. Things would still be tagged and labeled so you could just open them up easily and see them.

Its no effort to open a spoiler tab which is plenty protection for folks who don't want to know. It can really impact the enjoyment of a game for the spoiled.

Trust me, you didn't need to see spoiler avatars to be spoiled in Danganronpa. The game did that to itself.

Spoiler: Xillia 2 Ending
Um, if Elle becomes the millionth crystal, why does humanity FAIL Origin's Trial? In fact, why should I give a crap about the damn trial, anyway, considering Chronos practically admits that he PURPOSEFULLY made it incredibly difficult-to-unlikely for humanity to succeed the trial? I see no reason why Ludger should have to sacrifice himself meaning succeeding. Elle is part of a fractured dimension, anyway, so she would disappear if I wished fractured dimensions would cease to exist.

Or maybe this just shows that Xillia 2 had no idea what its plot was and the 'Origin's Trial' thing was not fully thought out.

I gave in and started playing Yokai watch, i'm about 25% through with it give or take and i have a team i am perfectly happy with.
I have Komasan
Blazion
Frostina
Badude
Cadable
and Blandon.

Right now i really only have one complaint with the game, i think it's a great game but the way you have to befriend monsters is kind of annoying, trying to get half of my team was just spending four hours trying to give it presents only to have it reject me...

Or maybe this just shows that Xillia 2 had no idea what its plot was and the 'Origin's Trial' thing was not fully thought out.

C-A

Spoiler:
Origin's trial was that humanity had to reach him in Canaan before one million fractured dimensions were created. If they succeed, they get one wish granted, regardless of how extreme it is, including enslaving all the spirits. In order for humans to achieve that, they needed to obtain five waymarkers, one of which requires both requires a human sacrifice and the potential to create a fractured dimension, another which belongs to Maxwell, one in long sealed-off ruins, and two behind the schism in Rieze Maxia. All of this was supposed to test if humans could control fossil fuels spyrix properly. Yeah, for someone who supposedly loves humanity, Origin comes off as a bit of a dick. But wait, it gets worse.
Chronos was trying to convince Origin to abandon humanity because the soul purification process required for reincarnation puts enormous strain on Origin. So what's his answer? Let humans create fractured dimensions so even more strain can be put on Origin. He also forgot that spirits live off of the mana produced by humans, meaning if they go extinct, spirits follow shortly. And apparently, the Chromatus is so powerful, it can create an entire universe, even another Maxwell. You notice that a Maxwell gets produced along with a fractured dimension, but no Origins and Canaans do? How come? Maxwell is just as powerful as Origin, so it should be possible for the Chromatus to produce another Origin. Hell, if it could, every fractured dimension would have its own soul purification guy. No need to commit mass genocide 999,999 times. Even if it couldn't, what about the wish? No way that can't produce another Origin.

...Origin's Trial still makes no sense to me. It's like, no matter which way I pick to get the millionth crystal, Chronos still says we failed - cause he's a major dick and hates us - and Origin seems more, "Oh, you humans are so cute." But I've felt like this with Xillia 2 from the beginning: something about the story feels so off, it's like Chrono Trigger and its time travelling - the beginning has different rules compared to the rest of the game, because someone else wrote that part and the team changed mid-way.

Spoiler: Xillia 2
Origin seems to say that I fail, if I have Ludger become the last crystal... why? Also when Elle becomes the crystal. Again, why? It doesn't matter how I got the last crystal, I got it. I was actually a bit confused that Bisley didn't become the millionth crystal, but... he punched himself in the chest, to stop his transformation into a crystal and then died naturally... from what the scene made it look like.

I started NG+ on Xillia 2. Ludger was still in the Kitty Cap, Cat Collar and Jude-Colors I finished the previous game in... dunno what to think of that little feature, but it's neat. Looked a bit silly, though. (Which was the point, kinda) But now he's in *cough* Clothes from the Good Ending and wearing his brother's glasses. And earrings. (He looks kinda... effeminate... gay, to be blunt) And Jude got his No Jacket + Earrings + Cat Hairpin. Oh, and Xillia 1 hair. Awww, he wooks so adowable~ :pearl-blush:

Had 5.200-something grade at the end. I didn't get everything I could have, to make things easier, but I did get the things I found important. As you can tell, that means clothes and attachments. (I have to re-open the DLC I downloaded, though? Huh?) Also 5x Experience, Jobpoints, Affinity, Arte Usage, etc. I would like to have kept the Allium Orbs, but whatever.

Speaking of Allium Orbs, do you keep getting points in it, even after unlocking everything in that element, and does it do anything?

Awwww. I mean, I unequipped them, after the characters no longer learned anything from them, but was wondering if you got more defense from elements, if you kept going. Do the Lilium Orbs in Xillia work the same way/similar?

No, Lilium Orbs are much closer to a classic mastery/talent system. You don't "equip" anything for the Lilium Orbs, and each level-up you get a certain number of points, which you can use to unlock the same amount of nodes in the orb. However, the abilities/skills are tied to the spaces in the web, rather than the nodes themselves, and you unlock the skills/abilities by unlocking all the nodes surrounding its space.

(Tbh, I like it better than the allium orb. It's a lot easier to see what skills are available overall, and you don't need to worry about juggling the proper orbs between all your characters.)

You'll never know true peace after doing what you did. After the genocide run you had 1 shot at removing the infamous file 963 and after you miss it... you won't be able to avoid the consequences anymore.

I do think I would've preferred if it ended ten minutes before the actual ending but whatever, I loved the ending anyway (and the music)

It's on sale for $2 now if anybody is interested

Spoiler: Early Xillia 2 Scene - With Late Game Spoiler...?
Hey... how did Elle get to Trigleph? She comes from a fractured dimension, how the hell did she manage to get onto a boat in her own dimension's home, then suddenly appear in Trigleph? Yeah, sure, she's the Key of Kresnik and has powers, but nothing is shown of them. Or does this mean, if I walk a certain direction from Trigleph, I walk into a fractured dimension?

Why am I bothering with this question, anyway? I'm not awake enough... :ron:

I was going to post that Elle's power activates when she's in great distress, but that didn't line up, so here's the Tenth Doctor's explanation.

Spoiler:
That would make sense, but I think Victor is depending a little too much on, like, contrived ability, considering he just says go to Canaan and he doesn't know if her Key To Kresnik ability WOULD instantly teleport her to the prime dimension and not another fractured dimension, which it seems to do with most occurences. And why she never teleported in her life before, considering the whole distress part.

People keep referring to Jude as 'doctor' and I'm all, "But... scientist..." :eh?:

I do not understand the point of the hatred between Rieze Maxians and Elympions. So what if they use spirit artes? And even if they do not obtain peace between the two worlds, what would be the POINT of being at war, now that the schism is gone? Elympios apparently is dying, anyway, so even if they break all contact and banish all Rieze Maxians back to their own part, nothing would change for them.

Holy shit, it completely destroyed me

Oh man am I happy to know someone else played that game.

It rocked me to my core back when I first played it.

So much so my avatar and custom title still serve as a memento of that game.

It was nice, but... meh.

Although I really liked the game, I can see where your coming from. The gameplay itself is pretty lackluster and as DoMaya pointed out: the ending doesn't really make sense even in its own universe. However if you're not overly critical and just get tugged along for the ride this is one hell of a game in my opinion.

Spoiler: To The Moon
Even if Johnny got to go to the moon with River in the end, they still erased his memory of growing up with and learning to love River, which is what Johnny actually wanted.

Not really a 'bad' end, but I think they made things worse, not better.

True but thanks to wishful thinking, he ended up falling in love with River and recreating that romance under a different guise anyway.

The REAL kicker is when you realise that in spite of the ending, River actually died feeling neglected and hating her husband for failing to understand her or remember their promise.

So, Elympions hate Rieze Maxians, cause they can use spirit artes... which seems pointless to me, since the Elympion people in my party (Ludger, for example) can use elemental stuff, too. So... WHAT is the difference between these people? There is none. Not one that makes sense. At least with elves/half-elves, I could see them having longer, pointier ears. Namco, you can't just TELL me people hate each other when nothing is shown to be so... different between them, that it is a difference. With elves, yeah, they could use magic - Klarth had to use pacts and cover his body in tatoos, to even ask for assistance from spirits. Damn sure something similar could be done with RMs and Es.

Maybe Team Destiny just can't explain things worth beans to me...? :ron:

I think Neil did mention he was upset about it, but the doctors did ultimately have to fulfill his wish of reaching the moon

I'm not saying the doctors necessarily made things better, but at least Johnny got to realize how much River loved him in his new memories

I don't know...I didn't really see their relationship as sad as other people online did. I don't think River hated him, I think she loved him as much as Johnny loved her. The only "sad" part is that Johnny couldn't realize that

I think River did have some hope that Johnny would remember after she died. She made him promise to watch over the lighthouse everyday after all

You see that's all fair and good...but there's one point. When they are arguing about whether to finish the house or pay for treatment where she remarks "Do you KNOW what makes me happy?" or something along those lines in a very challenging manner and it came across as quite spiteful towards her husband in my book. I don't think she died happy. Especially considering how insistent she was in trying to remind him of that moment, going so far as to cut her hair to try and remind him of what it was like when she was young. Was probably especially traumatic for her considering her condition.

I just got done with the main story on Yokai Watch and i'm currently doing post game things like collecting items to evolve Yokai into S rank.
Apparently there is a Yokai that's an old man that evolves into a young lady. Excuse me what?

I dunno, probably some reference to a Japanese legend? :ron:

I want Xillia to appear in my mailbox already. I want to play Jude without him being nerfed. Also, with Japanese voice acting.

PS: Entirely random idea, but can Tales Of games please stop making Free Run something you need to hold a button down for? Just let me run around the 3D field by moving the analogue stick. I do it in Radiant Mythology, it's awesome!

Ugh man, people are freaking out because Nintendo removed the breast customisation and de-skimped some outfits for the 13 year old girl in Xenoblade Chronicles. Throwing around heavy-terms like censorship and boycott like it means nothing.

Man I wish the internet was more chill about things like this.
It's Nintendo's call as a marketing decision, it's not a major element of the game. I suppose it's my failing, I just don't understand how something like this is so important to upset people so.

@pierre: Sure the boob slider thing I guess would have been okay, at least for me, if I was wanting to make a female character, say from another game or if you're a female and you wanted to make a somewhat accurate avatar that represents you.

Really though, taking it out doesn't bug me at all. As long as the censorship isn't affecting the game play and story, I could care less. This censorship is really nothing compared to, say, FF4 (which they called FF2) on the SNES where they took out abilities, changed some of the dialogue, which both affected the core gameplay, strategies, mechanics, and story of the game. XCX isn't doing any of that.

And in my opinion, I can bet ya no one would have been upset about the exclusion of a breast slider if there wasn't one in the Japanese version to begin with. It's just the internet and people just want something to complain about even if it's nothing worth complaining about.

And as for removing the risque outfit from the 13 year old girl, I'm glad. Don't wanna feel like a sick pedophile. D= If anything though, if I had to force a complaint about this, is that they made the new outfit a little generic looking. But really, it's no big deal.

I did joke with some people though saying that taking away the boob slider made the game more gender equal. As in, why do women get an option to change something on their bodies and not men? XD
On April 3, 2016, Court Records Forums experienced a miracle upon that day.
