Oh I'm not making light of a costume swap, in fact I welcome them, I'm just emphasizing my point that I can't see Wii Fit Male as anything other than a model change.
Like you guys said, pretty sure Villager's gonna get something similar but Pokemon Trainer....

Edit: Reading a lot of disappointment regarding Marth not being Lucina, and I am VERY bothered. You can't just replace the representative of Fire Emblem with a character who dresses up as the said representative... Stupid people. Just make Lucina an alternate costume and be done with it.

According to Sakurai, the physics of the stage is affected by the pull of gravity from the planet, so strategy must be planned accordingly. I'm guessing it was revealed now to coincide with the announcement of Rosalina as a playable character in Super Mario 3D World yesterday.

When you're at high damage and are hit by a strong attack, this red and black effect happens. Essentially, it's almost guaranteed that you'll be KO'd.
I like the idea that a special effect shows up when you're going to kill someone after a long, drawn-out fight. It'll make for some epic pictures.

I'm actually rather indifferent to her reveal, to be honest...I'm only hoping for three things: a remade and buffed Ganondorf, Zelda and Lucina from Fire Emblem: Awakening. Sadly, I think I'll just have to make do with just Zelda, since Ganondorf has been a Captain Falcon clone in both the games he has been featured in, and Chrom is a far more likely candidate than Lucina.
While I'm on it, am I the only Zelda fan utterly confused by Ganondorf's move set? That guy is blessed by the gods, can fly, shoot energy balls from his palms, wields a kick-ass sword, can conjure up ghostly phantoms out of nothing etc etc...and all he uses in the game are a bunch of punches and kicks? This has bothered me for years.

I doubt they'll include Robin since it was up to each individual player to create their own version of him. Chrom is by far the more likely candidate, considering he's the de facto main character and on all the boxart. However, I found both of them to be a tad too bland, which is why I really want Lucina instead. But you've got a point, if Mr. Sakurai is/was on the fence regarding who to include, Lucina's attire might lead him to choose Chrom instead simply for the sake of outfit variation...

In addition to what Cat said, I'd like to point out that Mr. Game and Watch, R.O.B., and Ice Climbers have been made into fighters, so "personality" is definitely not prerequisite to be a fighter in Smash.

At the beginning of the of the game you're asked questions that alter the way you look. It's not terribly deep since it changes basic stuff like gender, skin color, and what your eyes look like. You can change your hairstyle and whatnot. Nothing too fancy. You can create your own patterns for your clothing too.
Honestly, I'd love to have Robin over Chrom solely because Robin would make an awesome-ass mage character. Hell, make them a duo like Rosalina/Luma and the Ice Climbers, and you'd have all my money!
When it comes to fighting games, I don't really base my expectations of fighters on personalities but rather how I can see their movesets playing out.

I see. That does indeed sound similar Robin...I remember the same debate regarding

Characters' movesets are important, sure, but to me, hearing Lucina shout "I CHALLENGE MY FATE!" when she uses her final smash takes priority.
Edit: By the way, do we know what the Skull Kid assist trophy will actually do? Summon the moon? Oh please let him summon the moon!
