Honestly...the reason you pay is to keep the game running with highly trained professionals that want to expand the game and make it more fun. I understand how paying for a game after you buy it might be annoying...but sometimes it is worth it. WoW is one of those games.

Velo is in Europe, they have a completely separate server system over there.
He can't connect to an American server.

As for the paying to play thing... I second what GvK has said.

True... See, I've played games online with others that don't require payments, such as "Habbo", "CokeMusic", or... err... something else... (Doesn't like bringing up RECENT past)... hence why "P4P" or "Pay For Play" doesn't appeal to me as much... though my SISTER played "Neverwind Nights" and "Guild Wars" often... you know, she MIGHT even have a WoW account! I'll have to ask her when she comes back home (She's in Alberta) if she has one, and if I might be able to use it! :gymshoe:

I'm afraid I cannot join this for the reasons Don has stated. Besides that, as you will find out if you play the game for a long time, you go through several stages of your WoW "career", and once you've been through one, you don't want to relive it.

Being in a levelling guild is one thing I'd prefer to avoid doing again. Oh the memories... D:

Oh, by the way, when you register a full account for the game, the first month's play is completely free. You won't be charged until after that first month. If, after that month, you decide to cancel your subscription, you can do so at no harm to you nor your wallet. ^^

Just a thought. :)

Finally: although I cannot help you on my characters in-game, I can dispense advice here as is necessary. By all means ask me about how to play and how to do certain things in-game; I shall be happy to assist.

I'll also be interested to hear about how your characters are progressing, so keep me posted! :D

I actually keep Velo open in IM while I play so I can ask him stuff as the questions come up.

I would actually suggest going to him for any questions you have.
Just earlier I asked him about a strange piece of (useless) ore I mined. =P

I'm actually getting ready to get back on WoW right now.
If anyone wants me to help them with anything just let me know.
IM preferably since my WoW and Firefox don't run well together. (They slow eachother down.)

I might get back into WoW sometime, though I have a friend in real life who plays it so I'd probably main on his server. I'd probably make at least 1 character for the court records server though.

Wrestlemania wrote:
I want to get out of the way that the WoW game isn't what I'm AGAINST... it's the "Monthly Payment" aspect. :nick: Not the best idea for someone with a low income, but at least the Demo should help me get a few days of fun out of it! And now that that's out of the way, allow me to reply to the above post:

1st Paragraph reply: Technically, the "Host" is always one of the selling points! Mind you, as soon as someone says that they joined "Just for Donald Serrot!!!" I'll be the first one to yell "FANGIRLS! RUN!!!" and break out my Level 4/100 Fire magic (I don't know what it's called in WoW, okay!? :nick:)

2nd/3rd Paragraph reply: It sounds a lot like "Contact"!... AWESOME! Also, I guess I'll need to use a microphone as well and a headset... Great, I wonder if there's any Voice Modifiers that are cheap... :nick-sweat:

Remaining Paragraphs: I'd start with people like The Doctor and Lord Nathaniel first... and don't bother with Tails (I ranted about WoW players with him a little while back, and I'll be posting the transcript on the same day that I post a picture of myself where people can see my Totally-Existent-And-Not-Made-Up tattoos that are on my back. :nick:), since I doubt he'd join... But if you think you can convince him, it'd probably gain a lot of ground in getting others to join! Also, try some of the admins, unless you want ME to ask (I might as well ask them another question... I haven't been filling my Quota lately. :sassy:)

Actually the game itself doesn't have voice chat (though there are unofficial ways of doing it), it uses text.

yep the voice chat is indeed there, but lacks the options and quality of ventrilo, and also some people's microphones don't seem to work with it (person talking but no sound). If interested you can ask me about the game as well, although I'm only experienced with caster dps (mage, warlock, shadow or smite priest, ele shaman and moonkins)

Yup, Ventrilo. Ventrilo or Teamspeak are the weapons of choice for voice chat services.

Voice chat makes things much, much easier to co-ordinate. Getting used to that early on could be beneficial to you all. :)

In order to form a guild you have to have 10 signatures (including your own) on a charter.
It is an item you carry with you and you can ask people to sign it. Once you have 9 other people sign it you can start the guild.

A charter is sorta like an agreement that you'll join the guild if it gets made, but what if your trial runs out before the guild gets made?

Well... thinking about it this could be to prevent people from making 10 trial accounts so that they can have a guild fast.

This is a very common practice, Don, especially for guilds that when finished will be smaller than the charter itself. Don't worry about it.

Some people even offer to sign charters for gold; that's another option you've got.

Good news!
I got some help from some kind people who (for 1 piece of gold) were willing to sign the charter!
So as of now the Court Records guild is now open!
I also made sure that everyone would know that this was made for the members of the Court-Records.net forums and if they wished to stay they needed to come here and let us know.
And anyone who didn't would be removed on Saturday.

What I'll do for the newer people to the game or for the people who are making new characters is I will try to get to where you are to get you signed up if you are interested.

Unfortunately... in getting the signatures i used almost all my money. So it may be a little while before we can have out shiny new Phoenix tabards and allot longer before we can have a guild bank.
But as soon as I have the funds I'll make sure to get those.

I wouldn't waste the money on a guild bank for the moment, they're really not that good except for raiders, the price also means that you shouldn't really be buying them till a later level. If you do get one though put it so that only the people in the guild you trust can access it, there are to many accounts of guild-bank stealing around.

The latest WoW patch is live!
I don't remember all the fixes but there is one that I've been very excited about!
Mounts at level 30 instead of 40!
And I'm almost to 30! This will make things much easier for me to come find everyone once the time comes to really get things going!
The guild is started and we are good to go!

I doubt I'll be hooked more than a few monts, but to me the fee doesn't seem too harsh.
The Phoenix games were like 40 bucks each, and I beat those in like a week. Ten dollars for a month isn't too bad :)

I'm all over Maive server. =P
It's not to hard to find someone for me.
Basically, all I need is your character's name and when you'll be online.
Then I send a "whisper" to your character to let you know I'm on, add you to me friend list, and it shows your current location.
I go to my handy map and make a bee line there!

It worked when I found Sklarvv the first time. :godot:

Only players from the other team can randomly attack you, and in a starter area you are well protected by high level guards. =P
And the other players can't take your lunch money. =P

I made a rogue on Maiev. Name's Ninfreak.

I picked human but I'm thinking maybe I should have made him a Night Elf... he's really low leveled (like lvl 1 or something), so I can delete him and make a Night Elf Ninfreak without much loss...should I?

What's the best race for a rogue?

Humans and Night Elves make great Rogues. Humans have a stealth ability as a racial thing...but so do Night elves...so it's up to you.
