When I was growing up, my favorite toy was a little kangaskhan.
I had a plastic screw that had a hole in it that was juuuuust big enough to fit it's hand into.

I loved playing with it so much... then one day I lost it when I was moving...
None of my other toys compared...
Now I'm saaaaaaaad.

Looking at your sad stories I remember I also had a pokemon plastic toy with a hole.
It was pikachu, as its hamster-like old design. As a kid, I wanted every holes to be fit by something(like a bean in my nostrills) and I put lego shiny-cone into its hole.

And my pikachu lives in despair to this day.

I gotta say, in terms of originality, this is probably the best Mega evolution so far. That ability can be devastating if used correctly. Could you imagine double-hitting Hyper Beams?

Back in my day When I was a kid, I had all the Pokémon toys from Burger King (I think?) - the working pokéball stands with the gold cards inside, the action figures, those wind-up toys from the second movie, all that stuff. Then around when I turned 14, my mom threw them all out when I wasn't home because I was "too old" for toys. Considering how much they go for online these days, I'm still somewhat resentful.

It's never been just a head. Actually, they've shown the baby out of the pouch a few times in the past (Pokémon Snap, the TCG, etc.), but not so beefed up like this. So I guess that means the Mega evolution ages it, or at least strengthens it up to the point of being able to move independently.

Ah, I never had a Kangaskhan TGC card, or played Pokemon Snap :payne:
Although I think the Mega stone evolves the Baby if that's the case, and so in that regard, It's really unique!

This new English trailer for Mega evolutions is pretty cool. It has this retro 90's feel to it, with the music and graphics.

I think Gamefreak wanted them to look simpler than others, looking as if they're from 1st generations.. Blastoise lookes like siege mode-siege tank in Starcraft.

plus: Actually, Mega Blastoise is Hellbat in SC2..!

Wait did I just read that there would be a cloud system to store pokemon? A PAYING CLOUD?! So if I want to transfer my black/white pokémon I have to pay?! Hope there is a limited free trial time.

Also I wonder if Charizard will finaly become a fire/DRAGON.

I love the idea,,, but PAYMENT! All those my entries in Black2... This can become like the crisis that happened between 1~2nd and 3~ generations....

Fire/dragon.... It's the badass. Ampharos as Zekrom, Charizard as Reshiram.

The cloud is probably for people who don't have two systems. Considering you might have to pick between a small user fee or spending $100 for a system just to transfer your Pokémon over...

MegaVenusaur's ability is pretty nice. whoop there goes two of its weaknesses

Still a bit sad since it's a children game... I know it probably won't be costy but still a bit sad. Also it only leave me 30 days to buy the game and reach far enough to transfer all of my ancient pokemon in it (so like that I don't feel guilty about restarting a game.)

AHH!!! THAT MEGA BLAZIKEN!!!! WHAT THE HELL!?!?!?!?!?!!? :beef:

D-did GameFreak look inside my fricking dream when I was a kid!? No, wait, don't answer that. Darn you, Munna! (I had a dream as a kid that my Blaziken evolved. It looked exactly like that Mega Blaziken, albeit more pixilated, as it was still the GBA screen. And yes, I still remember how it looked.)

At any rate, my bro decided to reserve both X and Y before I even had plans to get a 3DS. Why would he do that? He doesn't play handhelds, and I barely play Pokemon :payne: So, I'm covered. Fennekin's my first choice (I like fire types, ok!?), but I'm going to try to trade all the starters over to one game, using a friends 3DS xD
So I finally grew a brain and remembered to give myself a signature... Whoopee.

People already started in the games? I know some people have already gotten the game in the Netherlands today and the Japanese E-Store also started early! (now downloading)

Oh yeah, X dispatched, arriving tomorrow. Hopefully early in the morning, so I can get a proper marathon session like the days of old!

Probably starting with Fennekin, too, since it looks kind of like a fennec fox, and they're awesome. Even though I usually start with grass or water, that's what the first gen starters balance out. Probably Bulbasaur, so I have something against rival's inevitable water type.
Although Chespin's final evolution looks great...

Oh, and may have decided on X purely because the legendary reminds me of the Forest Spirit from Princess Mononoke. Like an amalgamation of both its forms.

Ooh, didn't realise we could straight-up download a Torchic, so if I went for a non-Fennekin starter, could have one of each of the three starting types, hmm...

Sure but...Fennekin's final form doesn't look as nice. Really Grenninja is the coolest looking one of the three, as much as I like Fennekin.

Though X and Y concern me because I hear the new pokedex is only 69...which seems...really small.

Yeah, it's the lowest number added so far if true, but I haven't played any of the 5th generation, so they'll still be new to me as well.

And I quite like Fennekin's final form, it's like a fox-turned-sorcerer, with the robes and all. Could always just keep it as a Fennekin, become the Pokemon champion with nothing but a completely unevolved starter. (Yeah, I know, that'll never happen...man can dream, right?)
I'm sure I'll find a way to get a Chespin down the line, for its final evolution is so nice.

Yikes - I only pre-ordered mine last week. ;p

I've beaten the 1st gym leader, and so far this game honestly seems like more of the same. I'm liking the 3D for the most part, but unfortunately it makes the game feel pretty sluggish at times - especially when there's a lot going on graphically.

The most welcome change for me has to be the Exp. Share alteration. Instead of equipping it to one Pokemon, the item's now a toggle-able Key Item which adds EXTRA XP to every member of the party. Brilliant.

Nope! In RBY, Exp Share evenly distributed experience between all Pokemon in the party (am I supposed to say "in the party"? I swear that was a more, uh, Pokemon term, but I can't remember it atm). This time round, the Pokemon currently in battle gains as much experience as it would even if Exp Share were turned off, while the other Pokemon get extra Exp (I think each one not in battle gets half the original amount, although I could be wrong).

Perhaps the benched pokemon just get sheer experience but not EV's from the battle? So if you wanted EV training use them for the right battles then bench em for pure EVless XP

From what I hear is that the Amazon Prime members get the game first then the regular members. I'm in the same boat as you. I ordered Pokemon Y with 1 day shipping and I won't get it until October 16th. 5 days left. Too much hype.
