I really need to play FE:Awakening :acro:
I had the GBA one, and It confused the heck out of me as to how to control battle segments. Is the 3DS one the same with moving on squares?

Also, Character or Assist Trophy, Dillon from The Rolling Western needs to be in this game! He fits in perfectly!

I'm pretty sad no one here mentioned Donnel. He'd make a great lethal joke character.

But Donnel doesn't have sick bird puns or is invisible....

Also I just watched the full Rosalina Reveal trailer.

I love how after Kirby lands the Mario Kart gang swing up like some Hells Angels or something "There's that punk who messed up our race"

I can only imagine the delightful offscreen violence after the end.

Tbh, it looks too big to be a regular move to me. And it looks too small to be a final smash. I actually think that suit of armor is an assist trophy.

TP Zelda again... well, at least it isn't Skyward Zelda. Maybe they realize that, if they used Skyward Zelda's appearance for Smash Bros and gave her tons of magic and attack prowess, people'd complain about why she never did that in Skyward. I know I would, if she could have done that in Skyward, I would've told Zelda to can the job and do it herself.

And I dunno, isn't it sort of a staple or a given that, if Zelda is there, Sheik would be, too?

Apparently, the one that worked on Sheik for Brawl was Aonuma, and the guy's busy as heck in and outside of Japan. Other than that, Sakurai said he wanted to revamp a couple of movesets, could be possible that he replaced Sheik by giving Zelda a more unique movepool, but it's just that, a possibility, nothing concrete.

I feel switching between two characters was the most unique thing about her movepool, though...

Hey nothing's to say Sheik's NOT there right now, other than we've not seen her. No reason to believe they'd drop her from Zelda's movelist since you are right, it was her unique thing.

I'm pretty sure Zelda's only shown the slightest bit of fighting prowess in like three games, and unless you count the Bow of Light, none of them really involved magic.

Indeed, but in Ocarina she displayed magic powers - so her using them in Melee made sense. TP Zelda had a badass design and, while she didn't use magic per se except to create the light arrows with the help of the light creatures, she had a clear head on her shoulders and did some stuff, even if it was behind the scenes. Her using magic makes sense.

But Skyward Zelda........ does nothing in Skyward. Her suddenly having magic powers to defend herself with and fight people would be such a slap in the face. It would feel to me like she would basically be even more of a manipulative bitch than she was in Skyward, saying, "Nyenyenye, I can fend for myself! You did all my work for nothing, ahaha!"

Although if Skyward Zelda were to be put into a Smash Bros game, I know who would be my punching bag...! :that-b-word:

The first update of the new year confirms the return of trophies. The first one is Saria from Ocarina of Time (particularly the 3DS version):
Image

Trophies will be different between versions; the Wii U version will feature trophies from console games and the 3DS version's will be from handheld games, much like the stages.

They revamped the 3D Models I believe. It's a lot more noticeable for Link in OoT3D.

Well I get that, yeah. It's just, for the trophies, I'd have expected them to make them look up-to-date and not give us the blocky polygon versions of the N64 era. I was more referring to, is there a difference in appearance between the N64 or 3DS Saria.

So, to actually answer what the DIFFERENCE between appearance is... There is none. The graphical overhaul shows no difference between them and it's kind of silly to point out that the Saria Trophy will be the 3DS version, because by god, you kinda expect them to use proper current-day graphics for games they bring out and not to give us a trophy with the shitty-ass polygon mess that was barely revolutionary in '98.

Not really, Cat Smash Bros is all about nostalgia and a love letter to nintendo classics new and old. For some people old retro graphics are a part of that, besides it's only trophies. If it's left with retro graphics it's intentional for that nostalgic feel.

Besides I think the 3DS Saria also looks...younger to me. Looks like they changed her skirt to shorts.

Anyway DeDeDe being back is great, he was always hilarious fun to play.

No, that's the graphics from back then, too. Otherwise I would say, "Hey why did they make Link wear shorts under his tunic now?" because it always looked like he was.... well at least not wearing any green shorts underneath.

........

I'm not gonna ask :ron:

Well it might be graphical differences or not. They did try and de-sexualise the 3DS port where they could after all, Ruto being the prime example I think.

I never thought that Ruto - as child or adult form - could be sexualized. I mean, come on. Who wants diamond-shaped-flat boobs to rub up against? Or even "deflating" Child Zelda's dress. Who the hell thought that those were supposed to be boobs? Guys, that's similar to an empire waistline. It's on the upper body and the fabric is generally really loose, hence why it "puffed out".
And you don't need to be a woman or a clothes-freak to know that.

Arguably the most popular Warioware character aside from Wario himself. No news on what she does yet, but would turning your opponents into spoons be out of the question?

Well, Sakurai did create the Kirby series, so I really, really doubt Metaknight won't return. Maybe not quite as "unbeatable" as before, but a comeback is all but inevitable.

Yeah I don't know why, but I really liked her in Warioware. I hope her song plays along with her assist when she shows up.
