It should be noted that Sakurai mentioned on Miiverse that the special meter fills up as Little Mac fights, and when it's full his standard special changes into an uppercut that's also an instant one hit KO if it connects.

It's a technique used in boxing where the user bobs and weaves while advancing to avoid his opponents punches.

I suppose the question would be whether or not that's a move or how he actually dodges. Either way, he's shaping up to be quite the unique character.

That's the power of the STAR UPPERCUT! HIT LIKE A GROWN ASS MAN!
I'm guessing his bob and weave is a special move of his since he was able to follow up quite quickly after going through projectiles.

Oh believe me, I'm well acquainted with the power of Mac's punch. Not in the way Glass Joe is, but...

That's a good point. Hopefully it counts for items as well.

Also, since the boxing ring was revealed to be Little Mac's stage, I hope they do a Corneria/Shadow Moses-type of secret with Doc Louis, where he describes Mac's opponents in his usual nonsensical way.

Im glad they finally added him to a smash game but hopefully they don't make him too overpowered like they did with Sonic.

I wouldn't say Sonic was overpowered, his attacks hit light and his speed makes him hard to control.

Just his Final Smash is really good but he's not alone in that.

I honestly didn't consider him that overpowered either but then again when I played with my friends they didn't really use sonic a lot. A lot of people say that he is overpowered which is why he is banned in a lot of tournaments

Probably the case. For me my most used character is Toon Link as of Brawl

wat

Meta Knight is by far overpowered. There's a reason that they had to ban Meta Knight from competitive Brawl. And how Meta Knight is the only character in Smash history to ever get banned from meta.

Ike was mid-tier at best. Metaknight is SS-tier which is why he's been the only character banned from tournies.

I guess again it could be that my friends didn't use Metaknight a lot but from what I experienced I didn't think he was as bad as Ike.

Ike's pretty slow, so if you get hit by big-ass Ragnell then it's your own damn fault.

Well its hard not to get hit by Ike when there is 3 other opponents on the field that are not Com it tends to be a bit hard especially in small maps. Plus Ike is not that slow that his attacks are so easy to doge.

I've always considered Super Smash Bros. a party game first, and a competitive one second, so I understand where you're coming from. When I play with my friends and/or brothers, Ike wreaks havoc due to his range and strength.

However, on the competitive side of things,Meta Knight is nigh unstoppable, having unparallelled recovery and great speed. Compare this to Ganondorf, who would barely even properly hit a professional player playing Meta Knight. This is partially why I'm hoping for Ganondorf to be buffed this game.

The other part is that I just want to shoot energy bolts at people and fly around while laughing maniacally - WHY CAN GANONDORF ONLY PUNCH STUFF?!

Why is Metaknight considered so OP anyway? Because his moves just hit so many times?

+1 to Ike being super strong. The huge range on his sword helps too.

Just watch some footage from EVO 2013 and you'll understand why Metaknight is OP. He has superb mobility, speed, overpowered special moves and great combo potential. Plus his recovery potential is simply absurd.

The only character who stands a chance against Metaknight are the ice climbers, since 1 grab can lead to inevitable death.

Yeah thats why I hate Ike, he had too much range and ridiculous damage that I remembered I got flown out of the map with I believe only 60% damage. My friend is actually really good with Ganondorf so I wonder if he could actually beat a professional MetaKnight since I never seen a professional Metaknight player.

Er...I highly doubt that. There's no way Ganondorf, no matter how skilled the player, can keep up with that. I believe Ganondorf at one point in time had his own tier because he's so useless.

Of course, when you play with more people and lots of items, that's another story.

Damn I have to admit after seeing that i agree Metaknight is much more broken than Ike. His recovery rate is ridiculous and so is his speed. Its always different with a play as a party because you have to worry about not just one person.

From one thing to another, I've watched the Little Mac trailer an unhealthy number of times. The music is just fantastic, the training part makes me want to work out and there's something alluring about the coach's voice.

A game can serve more than one purpose, no? Just look at Pokémon; on one hand, you've got these kids spamming Blizzard, Hyper Beam and Fire Blast with their all-legendary team, and on the other hand you've got the EV training breed maniacs who know every move pool and stat distribution of every single pokémon.

True I just get bothered when one friend insists on playing with no items and mocks characters based on tiers at a party, sort of impedes the fun I'd say.

Chaos IS Smash Brothers. People complained about Brawl because it was less Chaotic compared to Melee when they slowed things down.

I remember this one time I was playing Ike, and I rushed to give my friend, playing DeDeDe, a taste of good ol' Ragnell. I ended up tripping in front of him and he brought judgment down on my head with his hammer while I was still recovering from the embarrassment. Pitfalls I can accept, but tripping over my own feet isn't something I can avoid. Lame.

Lame.

Well it's removed for 4 isn't it?

The tripping mechanic was cute... the first time it happened. Then it seemed pointless. But then, I kinda had problems with Brawl, too. I liked Melee, it was a fun game, I didn't understand the big deal of how it was supposedly chaotic. When I played Brawl, I still didn't notice what was really changed. I noticed that some things took longer or they changed the way things were in Melee and I didn't like them that much... I'm a speed player in Smash Bros, I do not care if Zelda is invincible while switching to Sheik or back, I want that thing to take less than a second so I can immediately switch back and continue to combo.
