As it's not on the official website, no.

That goes for pretty much every other rumor, too. Unless specifically confirmed by Sakurai on Miiverse and/or on the website, take any "leaked" characters as nothing more than fiction until proven otherwise.

Thanks for answering the question and the link. Any news on any more characters being announced or the release date?

I feel ya man, loved gunning fools down. The game had it's fair share of problems but for a big of quick fun it's totally worthwhile.

And it's not that I don't think FFVII is being milked more than FFXIII...it's just that XIII is so BAD it really doesn't deserve to be milked the way they try.

I wonder why so many people felt Blaziken was going to be playable :ron: It's an old-gen pokemon I don't see why now they'd decide to introduce it all on its ownsome...I already have a problem with pokemon summoning pokemon.

Typhlosion was the best fire starter anyway. We don't need no Blaziken.

I agree with you. I do agree that Typhlosion was a much better starter which would be cool if they brought back Pokemon Trainer with Silver and Gold starter pokemon.

Well perhaps you won't get Silver and Gold starters but considering how we've seen 'palette swaps' of like Wii Fit Trainer that change her gender, perhaps some of the alternate costumes for pokemon trainer will be other gen trainers?

I was hoping one of the three characters from Pikmin 3 would appear with Rock and flying Pikmin by they're side.

More characters are a given - it's very likely we'll be getting new characters all the way until the game is released, as was the case with Brawl. They're announced rather infrequently (sometimes months apart, sometimes days) with no set pattern, so it's all a matter of waiting.

As for the release date, nothing concrete yet, though it has been confirmed several times that it is coming out sometime this year. It'll mostly likely be in the fall or early winter, probably just in time for the holidays. That is, if it isn't delayed.

I don't know if this is relevant here, but I've read that some folks want one rep per Pokémon generation, hence the call for Mewtwo returning and so on. That and Blaziken being a fighting-type makes it a good match for a fighting game. I personally consider the Pokémon Trainer a 3rd gen rep, since he's visually based on FireRed/LeafGreen, but there are those that don't like that he doesn't use Hoenn Pokémon for whatever reason. And I like Blaziken and all, but he'd probably be too similar to Lucario and Charizard put together.

I'm surprised they'd kept Lucario in, as I though the reason he took Mewtwo's place was because he was from the most recent Pokemon generation, and so they'd popularise 4th gen. Although, there are no 6th gen equivalents that would match either Mewtwo or Lucario, I'm guessing they might have both, with their final smashes being their Mega Evolutions.

I'm 100% certain that Yoshi, Captain Falcon and Ness will be back, and I really want to see Jigglypuff and Ice Climbers again. (These guys should've been announced as veterans ages ago! Unless they're unlockables, like how Jigglypuff was 2nd last to be revealed for Brawl, Wolf being the last.)

Lucario does have lasting appeal, being one of the most popular Pokémon of all time. Aside from the new Mega Evolution he gained, the fact you get one for free in X and Y probably helped in the decision to keep him in. Maybe the lack of such an iconic 6th gen Pokémon contributed as well, though that's more of an opinionated issue.

The first four have been in the series since its inception, so their return is more likely than, say, Ike or Dr. Mario. They probably haven't been revealed yet because Sakurai seems to save certain characters to announce them at specific times, such as on the anniversary of their series' premiere (as with Little Mac and the 30th anniversary of Punch-Out!!), for the release date of a new game in their series (Diddy Kong for Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze, King Dedede for Kirby: Triple Deluxe) or for a special event (Luigi for the Year of Luigi). In fact, Yoshi's New Island is releasing tomorrow, so a lot of people are expecting a Yoshi reveal to go along with it. There's a chance it may not happen, but the possibility is there.

As far as the Ice Climbers are concerned, Sakurai mentioned at one point that they would be difficult to put into the 3DS version because coding a twin NPC for a playable is hard, especially when there's multiples of them at the same time. Thus, their inclusion is uncertain. Then again, he did make the somewhat similar Rosalina and Luma, so it's possible he's gotten over that limitation by now.

Is that so? It'd be a shame to just leaven them because of coding difficulties, and not at least just have Nana or Popo as single characters, and you can change costume to switch character. I guess in Rosalina's case, Luma will be essentially a peripheral, and move on command attack, sort of like gun bullets. They can still animate the fancy moves etc, just preset everything to the buttons. (Although that's probably kinda restricting.)

As for how with a new game release comes a new Character reveal, I'm pretty confident also that Yoshi's being saved until New Island's release.

Just wondering, Smash is probably the game which will make me buy a Wii U. Do you guys already own a Wii U or are you waiting for a price drop like me, since smash is the only must have title on the system?

I have a Wii U, it's a great wii (hur hur) console. I got it for Windwaker which I hadn't played before and it's lovely. A great amount of games can be played on the gamepad screen alone so if you share a TV for whatever reason it's handy for that too.

I'm waiting for a price drop. And from the current or upcoming library of games, I don't feel like getting a WiiU at all. The only reason I was gonna get one was for Smash Bros if it had Ghira (although I probably could've just bought it for the 3DS then) or a Zelda WiiU.

They might release a special edition new Zelda WiiU, they did for Wind Waker which had fancy hyrulean script around the Wii-U controller.

I've got a Wii U and am LOVING it so far :phoenix: I currently own Super Mario 3D World (one of the best games I've ever played; it is definitely the Wii U's 'Killer App' for me), Wind Waker HD (a great remake of a great game) and Super Mario Bros. U (which came with the system, and is pretty good as well). I've also heard Pikmin 3, The Wonderful 101 and Zombie U are pretty good titles as well, and the former is a lot of people's whole REASON for owning the system to begin with. Then of course there's its backwards compatability, which opens up a whole WORLD of great games to play from the last generation: the Super Mario Galaxies (PHENOMONAL titles), Metroid Prime Trilogy (AMAZING first person adventures, and this is the best way to play them, the Zeldas (Twilight Princess and Skyward Sword? Need I say more), as well as MANY other great games as well. So yeah, if all these games are enough to warrant a system purchase, I'd reccomend it :phoenix:

...that said though, I bought it during boxing day sales when the Deluxe Console bundle was selling for $250; with 2 Mario games coming with it as well as a fair bit of memory (32 GB, while not a lot of memory on other system, goes a long way with Nintendo), it was a no brainer for me. While I think it's worth the $300 dollars, whether it's worth your time to wait or not is up to you :trucy:
"No one can change the past. The only thing we can do is strive to make up for our mistakes. Why must we make up for our mistakes, you ask? Because in so doing... we can find the way back to our path. And once we've found our path, we can move on from our past mistakes toward a brighter future."- Phoenix Wright

So we didn't get Yoshi, but we did get another new 3DS stage:

Image

I'm not entirely sure what it's based on. Given Sakurai's comment about it being a "bachelor pad", perhaps it's a stage representing the Japan-exclusive Tomodachi Collection?

Sjibbey wrote:

That is most certainly not the case. Even if you personally don't like the other games, there are several that are more than good enough to consider "must haves" for anyone who owns (or one day will own) the console. And that includes non-Nintendo titles like The Wonderful 101 and the upcoming Bayonetta 2.

As far as I can tell it's still in development. It's almost standard Nintendo practice to announce things and then conveniently not talk about them until close to release. Ironically the only thing I've really seen them do otherwise with is Smash Bros.

Yay! Now we can have rule 34 in the style of the 3DS game!

Characters are going to remain constant across both versions bro. Ain't gotta worry about that.

Smash was going to be the game that got me to buy a Wii U, but then they announced the 3DS version, so... Right now I'm shaping up to get the Wii U for X, but it's too early to say for sure yet, since we have so little info on it.

I'm still waiting on that SMT x FE game :\

Yeah I always joke to my friends that someone at Nintendo is just rolling dice with franchises on each side to make these random crossovers.

Phoenix Wright X Professor Layton
SMT X Fire Emblem
Dynasty Warriors X Zelda

It's just fun to see a company do something so out there.

Isn't Animal Crossing already Harvest Moon, minus the actual fun of farming and dating and having a virtual child?

I haven't played Animal Crossing, but from the LPs I've watched, it's basically just real-time doing nothing but talking to virtual people and digging some stuff up. No real farming, no actual dating in it... and I personally don't like the real time stuff.

I tend to get hyped for a game and once that phase is over, it can take months before I play something again... and I would not look forward to someone bitching at me like they're having a PMS just cause I didn't do anything for a while... :ron:
