Hopefully she's avoided using the Healing Touch so far, so when she has to shoot the core with the laser, activate the Healing Touch. With the rotating lines of plates going really slowly, you can take it easy. Healing Touch lasts longer than you need to incinerate the core, so if the plates are inching too close to the core, take a little breather while it passes, and then continue shooting. A steady hand is required, so try to relax and not panic.

Oh right, I forgot about the healing touch. :P Thankies, I'll need to tell her that.

And by the way, I HATE bythos. I get too nervous when all the spores start flying around. I sometimes flinch, which makes me hit the spores when I'm trying to take the core out... >.< ugh my hands aren't so steady anymore. Wait, I was gonna say something else about Bythos.... OH um on the final boss, when bythos appear and you're supposed to take the cores out while injecting the eye, how the heck am I supposed to know when the internal hemorrhaging things appear? I check often with the ultrasound and it doesn't seem like there's any there, but as soon as I'm dealing with one of the bythos, they pop out of nowhere and I don't have time to cut them before they bleed, which I'm pretty sure is keeping me from getting an S on the operation... help...

Thanks for the advice you guys. I beat Strike Force on Normal, and now I'm past the halfway mark on Hard. I'm up to the mission in Culuria/Culurama/whatever the country's called, where you have to show Maria how to treat Stigma, by treating three patients in a row. The first has Soma, which is simple enough, the second is Brachion, which I'm getting faster at, but I keep injecting the purple stuff away from the grapplers and pinching the loose grapplers instead of the pods. I have to activate Slowdown Healing Touch on the fourth branch, which leaves me unprotected for Ops, which I suck at. I need a lot of practice. The only reason I beat it on Miracle Surgery is because I used Valerie's HT and lasered it to death instead of draining the nutrients and lasering the tumors, and Brachion kind of stomps on that desperate excuse of a strategy.

So, my boss was pitching to me an idea he had for an immunology game (I work in an immunological laboratory focusing on cancer vaccines), as he was sick of seeing his sons (aged 5 and 8) play nothing but Sonic and other "un-educational" games. I said there was a surgery game for the Wii, and asked if he would like to preview it. He's going to over the break.

This is going to be interesting. He has no exposure to anime or video games beyond Super Mario. He's already convinced I'm certifiable.

Maybe I'm just "bliss"fully unaware or I live under a rock, but until I played New Blood I thought the names for the strains of GUILT were made up for the sake of sounding cool. Since they actually explained the meaning of the strains in New Blood, I figured I'd find out what the GUILT and Neo-GUILT strains were named for.
according to http://www.smartphrase.com/Greek/gr_general_words_voc.shtml:
"Monday-DEUTERA
Tuesday-TRITH
Wednesday-TETARTH
Thursday-PEMPTH
Friday-PARASKEUH
Saturday-SABBATO
Sunday-KURIAKH"
Though technically Sunday is the first day of the week for them (so I finally get why the letter Doctor Kasal received about Kyriaki said "Sunday"... durhur).
then, on TVtropes.org (I know it's not exactly reliable, but I'm too lazy to cross-check it):
"Under the Knife 2 introduces the Neo-GUILT, named for four Greek-derived concepts from Gnosticism: Nous (Intellect), Bythos (Depth), Sige (Silence) and Aletheia (Truth)."

I got SO for Christmas, and right now I'm on Savato.
I WANT IT TO DIEEEEEEEE!
Spoiler: I guess
Just when you think you got, it does that big cross thingy and you fail the operation! And that's with tge Healing Touch! GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!

Funny thing is that if I try it today (because I got to it yesterday) I'll probably pass it. It's like that always with a hard operation for me.
BTW, how do you get the X missions? Are they after Episode 6?

X-Missions are unlocked automatically when you beat Chapter 6.

Which Savato op are you on? Death Awaits All or Vulnerability? For DAA you can't use the Healing Touch until the end (when the automatic one kicks in) since you need a double one to stop Savato. For Vulnerability you take turns as Stiles and Weaver, so you can use Weaver's if you need it.

Also, NB and UTK2 are very worth it, though at times UTK2 feels like a DS version of NB - they reuse a lot of operations.

cut randomly, youll actually expose the Hemorrhaging that way even if it doesnt show on ultrasound (assuming you dont miss any) it should keep your chain from breaking.

*revives topic with stupid newb like question* TT_TT i've been stuck from finishing the first game TC:UtK for ages cos of Paraskevi. i know it's stupid cos the solution to my problem is probably something really simple i just didn't realise but oh wells. soooo my cry for help question is
Spoiler:
i can sometimes cut the paraskevi once i've lasered it, but sometimes it just doesn't cut when it turns gold. it just wiggles a bit then lacerates wherever it is in meyers body, and then eventually after countless times of lasering and cutting and wiggling, it gets to the heart and then i BLEH. oh rite. so my question is anyone have tips on how to beat paraskevi/what i'm doing wrong?
i've read plenty of walkthroughs, but none o' them helped. i think one said about if it flashes it has immunity to laser, but it didn't work either.

apppart from my problemo, i'm up to alethia whats its called in TC:UtK 2....mayuzumi (i forget her name.) is so scawy. x3

Paraskevi's a tricky one alright. Keep them frozen as long as possible.

When you laser its tail, it turns gold. Depending on its size, it will remain frozen and can be cut until it starts shaking. If it shakes while gold, it's about to start moving again. You can't cut or extract while it's shaking, so ready your laser if it shakes to zap its tail straight away.

Once you cut a segment, it's a little different. When Paraskevi is cut and two separate skevis come out, they flash. This means they're invulnerable for a short while. Ever noticed in every platformer when you take damage you flash for a while to regain composure, and you're invulnerable during said flash so the enemy doesn't combo/juggle you? Think of it that way, the Paraskevi has that flash. When the Paraskevi is cut and the two parts are flashing, wait until it stops flashing and zap it again with the laser. If your reactions are quick enough, then once you've cut it, you can switch to sutures or gel and suture the laceration it makes upon being cut, or spread a line of gel over the laceration to minimize blood loss from it for a short while.

Now what I tend to do with Paraskevi is divide it into two phases. When it first appears as the longest size, freeze and cut, and it will split into two. I like to leave one of those parts to travel to the next part of the body, and focus on the other. With less worms to cut, its a load off your mind. Keep doing this when you keep cutting it. Leave one of the two sizes and focus on the other. It's a good idea to keep that left one frozen though, so you can deal with it later.

Observe how many little parts there are on the Paraskevi's body before deciding whether or not to extract it. If it has two or more sections (you can tell by a line between each section showing it as lined up squares), then it's not ready to be extracted yet, so keep freezing and cutting. If there's just the one section between the head and the tail and it moves at a fast pace, that's when you can freeze it then extract it with the forceps.

When you've got the freeze the worms, do NOT keep the laser on the body and follow the worm, you'll create tons of wounds on the patient. Lightly tap the worm on its tail until its frozen. Remember, the longer the worm is, the longer it will stay frozen. This makes it a good idea to freeze the longer worms, then the shorter ones and then cut/extract those, then they'll all unfreeze at the same time for you to refreeze them.

Don't forget the vitals as well. If your patient's vitals are low or they have lots of lacerations, don't let the Paraskevi move free! Freeze them first, then inject to increase vitals. If they shake, ready the laser to freeze them, before suturing the wounds.

Also, when you've extracted all the worms on the screen or they've moved to the next screen, don't suture all the lacerations straight away. Suture all but one, pause to take a deep breath and compose yourself, increase vitals via the injection, then suture and proceed to the next.

Being able to quickly switch tools will help tremendously. Best of luck with the Paraskevi mission.

Anyways, holy crap I used to love Trauma Center as much as I currently love Ace Attorney. xD

The only game I actually own though is UtK 2, which I haven't played in AGES. Me and X Missions aren't exactly on speaking terms right now.

Paraskevi's pathetically easy compared to Savato =D

...If you're playing it on the DS anyways. If you have Second Opinion (an extended version of UTK1) on the Wii let's just say you're screwed if you get to the Liver and you haven't cut Paraskevi to removable sizes.

The key to clearing it is to focus on removing the GUILT while keeping your vitals above 30. lazer/cut//lazer/cut until you can take 'em out. Then lazer/vitals/lazer/vitals as needed. If you think you have time feel free to lazer/suture/lazer/suture too. Don't worry, unless you're at the liver Paraskevi will wait for you in the next area. Of course it's VERY possible to clear it at the first area =D

Savato's a monster. Folks having trouble are usually stuck when they're waiting to get another scalpel. use that time to raise vitals.

NB and I are not talking since I refuse to play it solo. I played it with my brother before we got an Xbox360. Now all he wants to play is Call of Futy World at War >.>;

I also have UTK2. It was EPIC =D

Hopefully they don't delay this for a ridiculous amount of time on Australia like they did with SO and NB.

I wish they put this in the same order as the picture;

- Maria Torres is an on-site paramedic doctor; her story has you applying advanced first aid to multiple patients simultaneously at the scenes of disasters.

- Gabriel Cunningham is the Dr. House of the crew; he likes yelling at people and is an expert diagnostician. His scenario has you examining patients at the doctor's office, using a stethoscope and such to figure out what's causing their symptoms.

- Finally, Naomi Kimishima is a genius surgeon who's appeared in the supporting cast of several Trauma Center games. She's changed careers since then and is now a CSI-style forensic specialist, reconstructing organic evidence from the scene of the crime, so her scenario plays out a great deal more like a traditional adventure game.

- Prisoner CR-SO1 is a brilliant young surgeon who was sentenced to 250 years in cryogenic prison, but accepted a reduced sentence in exchange for his returning to the operating table. (Did I mention that this game's set in the near future, by the way?) His scenario will be the most like traditional Trauma Center; you'll be conducting assorted operations on very sick patients.

- Tomoe Tachibana is a reserved Japanese girl who wears her doctor's white coat on top of her kimono. Her specialty is endoscopic surgery, the type where they run a tiny camera into your body.

- Hank Freebird is a hotshot cosmetic surgeon; you'll use a variety of fancy equipment to help with his patients, performing procedures like hip-replacement surgeries.

The females are easy to get right but the guys I guess with there expressions and there outfit. I like the prisoner one(If I'm right) but thought he was a she till I see there only 3 description for the female and I can see the three female easily.

Trauma Center is one of my favorite series, I had no idea about this new game. Sa-weet.

Personally I think they should focus more on the DS for the series, but a new Wii game should still be fun.

I'm pretty sure he's not a robot. I mean, who would put a robot in prison rather than just dissasembling it? It doesn't make sense.

Anyway, the game looks interesting already. I'm glad they're expanding into other professions in the medical field, but I hope they flesh each one out as much as they have with the surgery aspect in prior games. Otherwise it might just end up as a medical-themed minigame collection.

I don't think they left a big impression on me. Didn't try the wii games yet, but I doubt they will be any better.

Wait waht!? Is that what the artical saids or someone sees an iron face and think robot? He look human just in an iron face treatment.

But-but robots cannot love ;-; and yet suddenly the whole cryogenic freezing thing makes a little more sense to me. While I suppose they could disassemble him, it could be possible that he's one of the more advanced creations (maybe he's one of the few who has emotions [/irobot]) and they don't want to risk getting rid of one of their best successes.... who has done some unspeakable crime that we still have no clue about.
... I imagine killing people with laser eyes and setting buildings on fire, but this is all just in my personal daydream :yogi:

I believed they weren't for the longest time. That and I thought I was pathetic for not even getting that far into the KYRIAKI X mission.
