Yeah that's a problem with the game. Fighting the Imprisoned a total of 3 times. First time was kinda neat. Second time, it did add the Groosenator. But it already lost its appeal. Also... I BLAME HYLIA FOR THAT! Fucking bitch can't do the ONE job she was supposed to do.

So. New Info about Hyrule Warriors.
Fi is a playable character. (I'm happy about this)
Ghirahim is a boss enemy on a Skyward stage. (Happy about this)
But so is the Imprisoned. (Urgh...)
Link has the Ball & Chain as a weapon. (...neat)
Zelda has the Wind Waker as a weapon. (...neat)
Link and Zelda have DLC that are Skyward outfits. (Nooooooooooooooo!! Fuck that Zelda, I don't wanna see her again!)
And there's apparently parameters upping and leveling. (Whatever)

Got a source for this?

Also I was kinda hoping Ghirahim would be playable....is he just a boss or is he a boss and a playable villain?

There's also a new trailer for Midna.

I can confirm it comes from the most recent issue of Famitsu that was leaked online. I was actually looking for a scan to post with the info but I couldn't find a decent one. Then Cat beat me to it anyway, so it's rather moot now.

I also feel I should point out that, being a musou game, there is a chance we'll get to play as the bosses in some sort of reverse-POV story. Some other Tecmo-Koei musou games had something like that.

This is the scan I found and it's not very big. But you can tell things. They also say they bring out a DLC for Ganondorf's TWO appearances from Ocarina and Twilight Princess. *sigh* Why? Ganondorf isn't a very entertaining villain. And why no realism-design for the Wind Waker one? Katana Ganondorf with the yukata, that was a bit neat.

Also, Fi killing things by dance-kicking them = epic

This game wouldn't exist if Ganondorf wasn't in it. It's a love letter to Zelda fandom.

Also after seeing Wind Waker's finale Ganondorf comes across as much more interesting to me. Almost remorseful and more chivalrous than I'd normally give him credit for.

Then again you don't like sympathetic villains much...still do we actually have a trailer or something for Ganondorf yet? I'd love to see some action from him.

Here's the magazine scan revealing Ghirahim as a boss during Hyrule Warriors. I know people are like, "But this is his original pose" and complain how foppish he looks in this one.

I dunno, it doesn't bother me. It fits Ghirahim. Sure he's foppish and hilarious, but at the same time, he always intimidated me in Skyward. I dunno why people get their panties in a bunch over his pose. It's... Ghirahim. And quite honestly, what exactly says that a funny, foppish villain can't also be incredibly threatening to the player? Ghirahim definitely did it.

PS: OmG, seriously, people are complaining that Fi is playable? Not that it bothers me, but nobody complains about Ageha being playable? Or that chick that's being made just for HW? Come on, guys. Everybody's all "Fi sucks!" Dude. She's KICKING these hordes away. Without the use of arms, she dance-kicks things away. That's freaking awesome!

I actually enjoy him. Yeah, he's flamboyant, but he's an actual threat too. Unlike Ganon who just sits on the sidelines and waits for Link to come, Ghirahim gets involved to do what he can to stop Link at each interval. I like that and more Zelda games need to do that. The only other characters I can think of who came close to that were Vaati in Minish Cap, Veran in Oracle of Ages, and Zant in Twilight Princess. And we all know how Zant turned out...

I haven't beaten SS yet, but I believe I'm fairly close (getting Tadtones), and if Ghirahim stays true to character and doesn't turn out to be another amazing villain that is really a complete sop, then he's going to go up there for me as one of the better Zelda villains. I don't think SS is the greatest Zelda out there, but Ghirahim keeps it good for me. I could care less how flamboyant or muscular or whatever a villain is. As long as they can be threatening and consistently try to ruin the hero at every turn, then yeah, I think they're a great villain. Saying they're "gay" is a stupid reason to state that a character is a bad villain.

Sticking his tongue out like that is hardly a proof of homosexuality and that's not a bad thing anyway.

Way I see it Zelda has an extremely limited roster of potential combat characters anyway, considering the standard roster for a Koei "Warriors" game, they need to pull as many combat capable characters as possible in so Ghirahim and maybe some other villains I wouldn't be surprised if they made it in as they need all they can get.

When they flesh out Agitha to be a combat character you don't complain when they have an actual combatant in as a character.

Eh, nothing wrong with that. Also, just pointing out, considering Yuga is basically Ganondorf design + Ghirahim = Kefka, he should be like that, too. But strangely enough, I found Yuga to be incredibly boring. I dunno, maybe it's cause the art style, but he just didn't intimidate or make much of an impression on me than Ghirahim. Ghirahim almost scared me at times, he was a threat the entire time.
Yuga just... talks about beauty and disappears. :ron:

No, you don't. If "gay" characters bother you so much, maybe it's about time for you to stop playing video games. Or watching any form of entertainment, for that matter.

I think they still have several options if they want combat-inclined characters. There's the remaining sages, the Majora's Mask transformations (especially Fierce Deity Link and the Goron form for more male characters), maybe even Sheik as a separate character.

While I don't really care for Ghirahim personally, I can understand why others do. He just doesn't really fit the role as a Zelda villain to me. I'm not sure if it's his personality or his rather heavy involvement in Skyward Sword's story; I'd say he may have even showed up too much, as after the first couple of times there just wasn't much suspense when he showed up. It seemed like it was always, "I'm here, let's fight to the death but I'll let you live until next time anyway!", almost in a shonen-like manner. I guess he just never really clicked for me in particular.

Not quite in the way Ghirahim puts it, though. The pre-battle boasting from the second encounter on makes it feel as that he's already going all out against Link and still losing, rather than actually improving himself between their encounters to beat Link, if that makes sense. The only time their meeting feels like a genuine I'm-finally-better-than-you moment is when he goes all black-skinned and crazy, and even then that seems more subdued to me since he only does it after having lost two or three times beforehand?

I know it's done a lot in video games, but the build up to that here in particular just didn't feel genuine to me, like he was holding himself back for no apparent reason before that moment. At least if he was just toying with Link like in their first fight it would have purpose, but otherwise he just kept getting annoyed at being defeated, and then all whiny after being beaten by him the last time. It was just very off-putting for an otherwise cool looking and powerful character.

What killed Yuga for me was his lack of involvement in the majority of the game. He did so much in the beginning, built up his plan of what he wanted to do, and then he gets cast aside once Link enters Lorule, where you don't see him again until the final end of the game. I liked Yuga, but his presence as a villain was overall underwhelming. Then again, Ganon usually does the same thing so there's that.

@Orca: Maybe Ghirahim is one of those who likes to play with his prey? He kinda comes off as that to me. Akin to Freeza in Dragonball, makes the the threats but likes to see his prey squirm before he gets serious. Then again, with the combat system the way it is, is there really any effective way to present Ghirahim as getting stronger and stronger with each encounter. I would think once the player has the combat system down, there's really only so much you can do. I mean, I'm sure you could change his fighting style, but then I'd feel you'd be fighting a completely different character that just has Ghirahim's skin.

It makes me think of a comparison to Golbez from FFIV. That guy was a threat, always on your tail. The couple fights you had with him in the beginning of the story, he had a reason to have been weakened those times as directed by the story. And when you do get to fight him with full power, he has no hindrances to hold him back. It works in a sense that he doesn't train himself, but rather fought with full power the whole time, but would run against a couple of mishaps before the true battle. I think if they could have done that in some way, shape, or form with Ghirahim, it would have been better. Like, for example, even having Zelda use her powers to weaken Ghirahim in some state before fighting Link the first time. That way, at least for me, it'd be more believable when you meet him in his second encounter when he says he won't be holding back. It'd also give Zelda a bit more to do.

I'll honestly say that Zelda villains overall have really never done much for me. They just serve more as a presence rather than anything else, so to actually see someone threatening Link at each turn is somewhat refreshing. Granted, I've seen much better villains than Ghirahim in other games, but as far as Zelda games go, I feel he does a better job than many other Zelda villains. Again though, I don't really feel that it takes much. Outside of their RPGs though, it kinda seems to be a reoccuring theme with main bosses in a Nintendo game in that they really don't have much personality or presence throughout a majority of the game.

Which is my problem with Ganondorf. Well, also, I find Ganondorf to be a very boring villain. I've said it before, I don't like Sympathetic Villains, so I enjoyed Ganondorf when he just wanted to take over cause he's power hungry. Wind Waker tried to give him a sympathetic reason for waning to take over Hyrule and that just failed for me, cause it seemed incredibly dumb. Now, I find Ganondorf boring. He's supposedly a big threat, but I never see him do all that much - at least nothing that seems to make sense.
And if anyone says "Well Ganondorf only takes over cause he's Demise's hatred reincarnated" you can go bend yourself cause that doesn't excuse or explain anything.

Well going into a Zelda game, expecting to see great, interesting villains is like going into a Zelda game, expecting there to be a grand RPG-styled story. It doesn't work cause Zelda games never had those and trying to put them in feels out of place. Zelda stories are always variants that end in "Save the World" and the villains are just there to be your big hindrance to overcome. Nothing more, nothing less.

Fi's trailer is up. She looks to be kind of floaty and slow, but her kicks are pretty cool, I guess. Her specials involve transforming into a sword for a swift downward strike.

Ok, ok, I'll be the first to say it. The Skyward sword is doing a Downward strike! Looks a bit slow, but it still looks pretty cool how she kills things. I don't know who is doing her voice, but it sounds different from the one in Skyward...

New trailer of Zelda using the Wind Waker as her weapon. It's definitely a more interesting option than the rapier she was using in the other trailer. I like the musical references she makes as she fights as well. It's like she's orchestrating their deaths.

On a more serious note, aw, I would have preferred to see her using like... The triforce or something. D:

Sounds about right. I mean, it's like Metroid right? That male bounty hunter?

Kay, guys, enough with the dumb, off-topic banter jokes.

I personally call Link either Link, Twink, once I called him Mados in Skyward because that's what it sounds like when Fi says his name... and once I went the immature route and called him Balls, so Ghirahim will have difficulty remembering the name "balls" and Fi refers to me as "Master Balls"... Yay, Pokémon reference.
