Ghirahim is entertaining because he's goofy and intimidating at the same time. The fact that he switches between calm to angry so fast makes it scary because you never know what may set him off when.

Then again, maybe you gotta either be half-insane yourself or have a fascination for insane people... they're not boring.

If they added the Goddesses, they'd also add Hylia. And the first three Goddesses would be OP and Hylia would be a drag along.

Hmm well I've not played Skyward Sword sadly but can you provide evidence that would indicate Ghirahim is intimidating? Goofy I can get from what I've seen of him, but I don't quite see the intimidation factor.

Perhaps the Goddesses might be a tad much but perhaps Luna (and two other as of yet unannounced characters) will turn out to be a representative of them or something like that? Just wondering how they'll tie her in.

Like I said, the fact that Ghirahim switches so fast is part of what makes him scary. Also, he says he'll torture Link so badly he'll deafen himself with the sound of his own screams. Even enjoys the idea of beating Link within an inch of his life. I think Ghirahim is a bit like Kefka in Dissidia - cool and calm one second and then yelling and hitting people the next. Also the whole enjoyment of causing other people pain~

Do you have a clip or something of it? Threats aren't all that bad.

Really this all comes down to personal taste...you like the sadistic threats of Ghirahim. I like the twisted honour of Ganondorf, he beats you almost unconscious in Wind Waker and says he won't kill you because he doesn't care, he just wants the Triforce.

I like some respect in a villain.

Zant's trailer now. Looks like they went with his over-the-top psychotic side rather than the brooding, boring personality he had during most of Twilight Princess.

Also a fair warning to anyone that cares about spoilers (though that might be a bit moot in a musou game), the final boss and ending to the game has leaked two days before the games' Japanese release.

And finally, in honor of the late Robin Williams, one of the best Zelda commercials ever.

I want to say if it's not mentioned in the Oracle games, there is some official source material that says that the Oracles are completely separate entities from the Goddesses themselves.

As for their appearances in Minish Cap, I just saw that as a nod to the Oracle games considering Capcom published both the Oracle games and Minish Cap.

Nayru's figurine description: She's looking for a house in Hyrule to move into. She is descended from a line of oracles in the land of Labrynna.

So I'm guessing it's the same story with the oracles as it is with all the Links and Zeldas; same name, different person.

I've seen that OoT commercial before, but I don't think I can watch it again right now. Too soon.

In the Hyrule Warriors Artbook, on a page showcasing unused character designs, is this:

Image

At first it seemed like a female version of Link, but the translated text seems to infer that this was to be Link's daughter, Linkelle (or Linkel, depending on how you interpret the text). I'm not sure how that would've worked within the game's story though. His time-travelling daughter from the future, maybe?

That's a mistranslation. The Japanese text literally says she's a female version of the hero Link; if it was his daughter, the Japanese text would have said 娘 (musume, 'daughter') instead of 女の子版 (onna no ko ban, 'girl version'). It's a bit hard to make out the characters in the second sentence, but I think it says she was proposed as a mirror-like entity opposed to Link.

Based on some of the character designs perhaps they scrapped the idea and changed her into Luna? She looks sort of magic-orientated in the third design for her.

Also how can't she be Link's Daughter...she's got Zelda's hair.

Why not go the common route and just do Linkette? After all, putting -ette after a name makes everything sound more feminine. Just look at Bombette.

No. No. Proper way to do it, considering it's Japanese and all, would be for it to be Linko. リン子
With ko being a general way to end or make names female.

Actually I don't think there's anything especially 'masculine' about "Link". :ron: Could probably have changed the gender without bothering with the name.

Like when folks thought it was female Link in the upcoming Wii U one.

So if this was to be an alternate version of Link, would she come from a parallel world where everyone in Hyrule was genderbent? Like, would she have to save prince Zeldo from the evil Ganondora with the help of the prince's bodyguard Impo?

Whoa, this reminds me of genderbent Zelda for dirty fantasies... :sadshoe: Then again, I think I more named them Zeld, Ganny remained a dude for reasons and Impa never appeared.

Is it weird that my main complaint about Fem!Link is that she... well, looks too much like male Link? Can't they work on her design so she doesn't look like "Girl in Green Hero Tunic"?

Well you like boobs a fair bit so it doesn't really surprise me you'd want a more feminine looking Link.

Still doesn't bother me, I actually wonder if they did this in response to that person who modded the game so that Link was a girl.

Yes a parent modded a copy of Ocarina of Time so that Link was a girl so that their daughter would be able to play a game with a positive strong female role model.

Feminine Looking does not automatically mean Has Boobs. And I quite honestly don't care if the Link I'm controlling has a sausage or a rack under their clothes.

It's a smart idea because not a lot of female characters are portrayed as the strong and independent

:ron: I'd say it's one of the more defining female sexual features however. I know you don't care but I don't especially see how that's relevant, was just answering your question by saying I'm not surprised you'd like them to appear more feminine.

But whatever

Anthony wrote:

Probably not that difficult (compared to some mods out there), I'm not sure what exactly it was they did but really it's probably just editing the model slightly and changing the text files to reference "he" as "she" and things like that.

An yeah Danny it's not a bad idea, I've often had an inkling to make a fighting game and as costume changes I'd just make an genderbent version of the character who has the same plot and moves and mechanics. Then I'd never confirm which version of the character is canon dohoho let them argue.
