Your waifu? Not in the game anymore? Uh, you weren't expecting Tales Of games to be a following story with the same cast all the time, were you? If you were, uh... you were kinda an idiot about that. :eh?:

Also, I didn't even know Bearseria (I will continue to write it like that, because F U, Teddy) was a supposed prequel to Zesty... but my main hope for it, is that Velvet will NOT be Milla Freaking Maxwell Version 2.0 - seriously, guys, the first version was not very successfull in both markets. Don't repeat her pattern. (Don't force me to go back to Symphonia or Phantasia)

Well, weaknesses are a part of it... at least, Weaknesses tend to help in causing more damage. I think in Xillia/Zesty, they also create the 'Weak Spot' mechanic that makes your attacks hit 150% damage, if you keep the green bar up... But, as said. I've heard a few things about Zesty that sound... meh.

Last I checked the two weren't mutually exclusive...or even on a scale.

Not being a "bitch" isn't being a doormat, there's far better ways to deal with problems than cattiness, snide remarks and "bitchiness". Likewise tolerating some problems and things does not necessarily make you a "doormat".

Even then in this scenario there was no threat to you being considered a doormat...there was no insult towards you or anything that would threaten your "reputation" you just threw out an insult for no reason.

I suppose I could just report you every time I see you do something like this but I hope you'll change and be less aggressive before it comes to that because one way or another the problem of your aggression will be fixed.

Anyway back on topic, regarding Soray and Mikleo as an official couple? Well I'll need more convincing but hey if it's official then that means at one point it'll be beyond dispute right? Like the married Delites being an official couple.

AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!! Out of the Tales games I've played, 99% of the 'official couples' are ones where I do not think anything would come out of it. So don't hold your breath. :will:

Seriously, only 'official' Tales couples I believe is AschxNatalia from Abyss - which has a sad ending.
And given that I've played Tales since its beginning as Phantasia on the Super Nintendo... that's a really sad thing to happen.

From the way it was portrayed, I felt Sorey's and Mikleo's relationship waa open to interpretation. It was only made canon when one of the devs, Hideo Baba, later confirmed their relationship as romantic in an interview.

Welp. Got some kind of ending in Undertale.
Spoiler:
Flowey was all like, "Hey bro. Go talk to Papyrus and Undyne and you can get better ending." I says, "K', coo. I'll do that". So I ended up going on a date with a spooky skeleton."

And called it a day.

Yeah Asgore gave me a real grilling, probably killed me about 5 times before I realised I'd have to fight him. All the same I'm actually really grateful for his difficulty in the end in hindsight. Makes it a bit challenging which is fine.

Spoiler: UT
I found his boss sprite really interesting. It took me a while to see that his head is actually downcast, but since I was always looking away (cause texting is more important) when his combat animation begins I never actually saw him lower his head. He looked like a fucking asshole who relished every moment of impaling me with his Spear of Longinus. Then I started questioning whether or not he really was taking pleasure in my demise, and then it clicked.

Spoiler: Undertale
Yeah I've heard folks talk about his Sprite like its one of those optical illusions where people see one thing or the other. I saw the hanging head so he can't look you in the eyes immediately so I didn't really see the maniacal grin some other folks claimed but its a clever bit of sprite design considering the two sides of him you head of throughout the story.

Kinda wish you got to see more of him. He seems like a swell guy but keep it up Blak-san, you still got some really special moments to go.

Just finished my first playthrough of Undertale (one of my birthday presents). I definitely died a few times. Amusingly enough, none of those times were against the two bosses you two brought up (I came very close to dying several times against both of them, though, and I suppose I can't prove that I really did beat both of them on the first try).

Man, I'm envious of you guys who only came close to dying during the boss battles. Even in my second run, I died so many times against the bosses - and not only the bosses. Woshua killed me a truly absurd number of times.

Finished Sakura Wars - So Long, My Love (= Sakura Wars V) (Wii). People who have played Project X Zone will know Sakura Wars: the three main heroines of the series were all there, joined by the original player character (Ogami). Sakura Wars - So Long, My Love starred Gemini Sunrise by the way, the Samurai Girl from the Wild West. So Long, My Love is the only Sakura Wars released in the West...and also the least fun entry in the whole series. Is it a bad game? No, it's still a decent anime-inspired mix of SRPG and dating sims (<- though 'dating sim' isn't really the right word for it, despite how it looks. It's a character relation-focused SRPG). But the previous Sakura Wars were much, much more fun. The change in the main cast (a new Combat Revue in New York) isn't a bad thing on its own (SW3 also gave us a new cast and setting), but I didn't really like any of the new heroines, even though this is a game where you're supposed to build character relations and pick your own heroine. Also, a lot of the changes to the battle system don't really work that well. It's good the enemies have become a bit stronger, because the series is rather easy, but the new Combination Attacks are overpowered, so that's back to zero. The new air combat sequences are bad: the screen is confusing and you actually have less freedom than in the normal combat sequences. Story-wise, it's also 'less' than an usual Sakura Wars, missing a lot of the usual cues (like mid-story upgrades to the STAR combat armors).

I've definitely enjoyed it. The game's commentary on the player's role has given me some things to think about, though I'm not currently approaching the same conclusion the game is arguing for.

Undertale: Don't you feel bad over killing these fictional characters?
Me: No. :agent-Smith: *sluuuuuuuuuuurps energy drink*

For thread topic, I'm playing A New Beginning again. And I'm contemplating if I should buy the European version of Story of Seasons, despite having the Japanese version and that working just fine. (Plus, it STILL only allows for 6-digit names...)

That's the reason why I have no intention of playing Undertale. All of this glamorizing of and hype about it would just result in the same thing that happened with Danganronpa: everyone's words of making it sound amazing will only result in my seeing its flaws worse than they are and, hence, judging the game worse than if people had kept their damn mouth shut about it.

Games can make me care about the characters. But not by repeatedly breaking the fourth wall and saying "Gawd, can't believe you did that! You should feel bad! You killed someone! You should feel horrible!", it just makes me more cynical. (Once again, similar to Danganronpa which obviously wanted me to care about the characters, but either never gave me enough time to care about them before they were inevitably killed or by not giving them enough of a personality for me to give a damn beyond mild acknowledgement)

Yes, I am very easily inclined to criticize something, but I am aware at what makes me criticize something worse than I usually would.

That's the same thing I expected with Undertale, but I still enjoyed it, though not to the extent of the near universal praise it gets. Granted, I had yet to be spoiled on the really big things which the Internet has already made common knowledge. Zero Punctuation said it best (when has that ever happened before?): it's the kind of thing that's best experienced when you have almost no knowledge of it prior to starting.

I died the most on Undyne personally. It wasn't that the boss was hard (even though it certainly is) it was more that I kept getting taken out on my neverending quest to go back to the shop to buy more food to heal myself. Woshua and that Jello Worm Thing do not make a good combo.

Also, I finished Professor Layton and the Miracle Mask recently. So far l, it's my favorite in the series (which isn't really much because I've only played two games) and I'm planning to get the Last Spectre next.

It's a shame I can't play the older games, but for what it was I thoroughly enjoyed SLML. By thoroughly enjoyed it, I mainly mean just the picking of a heroine and banging dating to get an ending. Ratchet is best girl, but you have to get a main heroines ending before you can pick Ratchet. Gemini second best.
Combat sucked though. I didn't really care for the clunkiness of the Valkyria Chronicles-esque movement system, and was even less thrilled when I had to fight in the air.

Liking the girls or not is a fairly personal matter, so I can definitely understand if you enjoyed the game better than I did. In the previous games, there were always multiple people I thought interesting, this time I went for Diana as my 'if I really have to choose...' choice (for some reason, I always end up with the book reading girl as my SW heroine).

Combat was a lot clunkier in this game than in previous games, actually. 1 and 2 used a grid-based system like Fire Emblem/Super Robot Wars/whatever, while 3 and 4 used the original system of the ARMS system. SLML has an 'upgraded' version of the ARMS system, but the changes in the Strategems, splitting the battlefield in smaller stages, the way Healing/Special Moves work, as well the new unit order list make combat much slower and more tedious than in the previous two games. Air combat in SLML was really hell and not fun at all (and because all the STARs needed to transform, the designs were also not nearly as unique as in the Kobu in SW3 & 4).

The older games were made when in a time when SEGA was willing to do all kinds of absolutely crazy games, and that really shows in their quality. SLML lacks the energy of the previous entries.

Welp. I got an ending for Undertale.
Spoiler:
I got the Pacifist ending, and everything turned out hunky-dory. I get to live with Tori-chan, and all is well.
Now. I must go back and murder everything. As someone that loves murder, the thought of me robbing Tori-chan of her life for a second time bothers me, but it's a necessary evil that must be done.

For $10, not a bad game. Pretty good actually. Needed more waifus though.

Man, I'm envious of you guys who only came close to dying during the boss battles. Even in my second run, I died so many times against the bosses - and not only the bosses. Woshua killed me a truly absurd number of times.

... I'm not very good at bullet hell.

(I love Undertale so much, though. Game of the Year for sure.)

My deaths in Undertale involved an angry Gyftrot after giving it googly eyes and gifts.

Currently playing AAI for the feels and Harvest Moon: Tale of Two Towns because a friend told me to. XD

Twin Villages is a fun enough game, though it has issues... but then, so do all of them.

Also, I decided to do a new save for Xillia 2. 71 Hours wasted, all because I decided to get some of the Transformation Items and then decided to not want them, after all. (Yes, I could just do NG+ and decide to not carry over fashion items, which would mean I'd need to recollect them with Character Episodes... but I don't really want to redo the episodes, so I'm redoing a new file entirely. Don't try to make sense out of it, it'll make your brain hurt)

But is that the "right" thing to do?
