Not like the previous cases were in AA were all that difficult. :ron:

Finished first playthrough of Akiba's Trip (Vita), which is actually the second Akiba's Trip game. It's basically Yakuza in Akihabara. The digital recreation of Akihabara is pretty cool and accurate, especially as you'll find A LOT of shops of the real Akihabara in the game (Animate, Gamers, Tora no Ana, Super Potato etc, etc.). The game also features pretty neat customization features, with lots of weird clothing and weapons (laptops, spring onions, iron bats, wooden boards, anything). Reminds a bit of Irem's free-roaming adventures like Steambot Chronicles.

Combat revolves around stripping your opponent (male or female) of their clothing (because vampires-can't-stand-sunlight reasons), but the fighting system is very, very clunky (stripping your enemies is shown with a comedic tone by the way, not an erotic one). The story is also incredibly boring, without any notion of development of tension. The side-missions are fun though, as they really do connect to otaku/Akiba culture (one of the funniest ones is when you're asked to fight against a certain idol group from Akiba with 48 girls...). The game can be fun, if you're interested/familiar with Akiba culture, but as a game, it does feel a bit lacking.

Finished the first part of SC2 Nova Covert Ops.

*sigh* Gonna be a long next few months.

Got a bit of nostalgia and downloaded Super Mario Land 2 from the eShop.

Also picked Pokémon Picross back up. (Still know next to nothing about Pokémon, but for some reason, I can't shake my love of puzzles.)

Err you'll need to hit me up with where THAT part of Xenoblade Chronicles is....

There's a lot of really great moments there.

I've had Amnesia: The Dark Descent sitting in my library for quite a while and never got around to playing it, so might as well start.

I started up Idolm@ster One For All again. I decided to pick my main trio to be some that I generally don't use (Yukiho, Iori and Mami) and removed all my DLC and catalogues. The only 'DLC' I have are the EX Episodes for Iori, Yayoi, Hibiki and Chihaya - and those I can't do, anyway, until I have completed their plot and ranked them up a lot. So I have no DLC that somehow makes it 'easier' for me. I wanna see how that works - I mean, I KNOW that it can be done without DLC just fine. I just want a little comparison.

I recently found Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines on Steam... took me an hour and a half to get past the freakin' tutorial because I was learning the mechanics at the same time I was put through a through stealth quests. (I think it changes depending on what race you go with). I've been craving a vampire roleplay, so this should be fun.

HunieCam Studio

I was planning on passing on this one since the game concept didn't sound that interesting and I wasn't a fan of the art direction

Then I watched a Let's Play and realized the devs can sell me pretty much whatever the hell they want so long as Kyu runs the tutorials

Just got done playing some online matches in Pokken and i couldn't help but notice that i kept bumping into the same 5 or so people. One of them having the worst connection i have ever seen, the lag was unbearable! I know it wasn't my internet because the other matches were pretty fluid.

Spent part of the night playing Tatsunoko Vs Capcom, i love this game so much it's one of my favorite games on the Wii, shame that i don't recognize most of the roster.
Even more of a shame that i bought the game after the Wifi went down.

The game was suggested to me months ago. I think I read totes spoilers for the story yesterday.

I'm playing Attempt #2 at Pokémon Y Wonderlocke.
My current team is Vulpix, Rondoudou (Jigglypuff, I got a French one, so I won't get an English name until I am in Reflection Cave), Flaafy, Zubat and Spewpa. I had a Trapinch and was really happy, but Ground types are apparently cursed with me. At Level 12, it Sand Tomb-ed a Level 9 Riolu and that stupid thing countered, killing Trapinch...

Given that the plot contains short term time travel in a contemporary setting, I'm kinda expecting the ending to be unsatisfying. Worst case scenario, Max is actually dying/in a coma, but I doubt it could be that bad. I am a bit more interested in seeing how everything else unfolds. Seeing the statistics of the decisions the other players made is nice touch.

Sure that's been a thing for a while, earlier I remember was TellTale's the Walking Dead doing it but it might have been in a bit before. Is there no good example of time travel in a contemporary setting? What about Dr Who? Or Back to the Future (at the time). I hope you like a lot of pretentious arty stuff about photography as well.

Playing through Professor Layton and the Miracle Mask. 3D Emmy is weirding me out, but not too bad for the most part. I like how I don't have to tap all over the screen just to find hint coins and puzzles now. Tracing the stylus across the screen to move the cursor is definitely preferable to me.

I just wish the character models didn't move around quite so much. The movements are meant to make the 3D models look more natural, I'm sure, but it really has the opposite effect.

The magnifying glass is great, but one of the things I don't like is that if you aren't constantly searching or using a walkthrough, then you can easily miss an item for the collection. One time, I permanently missed one of the items and couldn't access some of the puzzles under Layton's Challenges.

I ended up playing prequel trilogy backwards because I'm an idiot so I ended up transitioning from the calm magnifying glass thing to the Last Spectre's tap everywhere thing. It was pretty jarring, to say the least.

Fatal Frame 2: Deep Crimson Butterfly on the Wii via WiiU.

Three minor complaints up to now.
1. MOVE, Mio! Use those freaking legs of yours, especially since Mayu isn't holding you back right now. This is a general complaint for the entire series, these characters can never run faster than a light jog. Hey, there's a ghost trying to kill you! Pump those legs up to your ass.
2. English voice acting... I dunno if all the people honestly ARE British or if it's an exaggerated British accent, but it sounds annoying. (British = Japanese?)
3. Can't quite get the Obscura controls... like, motion controls for up and down, but I need to use the nunchuck for left and right. Why? I know it's a port, but still. Either make all four directions motion control for the camera or don't. Don't half-ass things.

Also, up to now, I didn't see Mayu as a hinderance. I only went through one location with her up to now, but she isn't that slow or annoying. Just a bit in my way when I'm turning around. Other than that, don't see why some people find her too annoying.

Woooo!

Glad to hear you are loving it.

@Cat: The trick is to let the ghosts attack her, she probably won't take much damage and I think there's a lengthy time as they initiate a grapple before she takes damage but it's basically a free Fatal Frame shot.

I know. I'm doing a Hard Playthrough right now and am on Chapter 5. While Mayu may be good bait for ghosts, I noticed they still tended to attack Mio and not her. Plus, majority of the time, you're on your own, so Mayu isn't all that helpful. Best to get used to Fatal Frames when they go for me... I know WHEN the sign is (the little flashing on top) but they seem to sometimes skip that step and still hit me.

Stupid ghosts. Just lemme Poltergust them, like Luigi!

The controls have taken a while to get used to, but I'm finding the game a lot of fun now that they have become second nature to me. Only issue I really have is that it's too easy to accidently summersault/u-turn while trying to boost or brake with the right stick. Otherwise it's been a blast.

Started playing Final Fantasy XIII for my first time. Steam version has some frame problems and lag, but I'm getting okay with them.

I'm thinking I'm nearing the end of Chapter 3. So far, I really like the music and I really like the environment of chapter 3. Reminds me of the Dead Sea in Chrono Cross, with all the frozen waves and such. The battle system right now is okay, but I'm assuming it'll pick up.

As for the characters, the only one I'm even liking right now in Sazh. The main thing that's bugging me right now with these characters are two things.

I'm really not getting their motivations right now. I get they have a focus, but they're unsure what it is. Great. But there's no way to figure out what it is, so that kills any motivation or idea as to where they need to go or what to do. As I was going through Chapter 3, the whole time I'm just wondering what the reason is as to why I'm going through this area. And the only answer I can come up with right now is that they are just running away. Honestly, running away is not my favorite motivation for characters in video games, especially when some of them like Lightning come across as someone who can kick butt and instead she wants to run away from the enemy. Even though a couple of chapters ago she was fine with going against the odds and bringing the enemy down.

The biggest thing right now that bugs me with these characters is right now, I'm not finding them too likeable. By themselves, I think these characters would do fine, but together? It's just a constant mish-mash of hating each other over and over again. I've never seen a cast that was so full of hate for each other. I get jealousy, rage, and all that. But it's pretty much with everyone. And I get that Vanille is supposed to balance it out with her cheerfulness, but the animosity between the main cast right now is just too strong and I really hate it. Sure, I don't expect a group of strangers to be happy and get along with each other, but when this hate is just constantly rubbed in my face time and time again, it serves as nothing more than to make me hate the protagonists. If that's what it's trying to go for, then it's doing a good job right now. I had a similar problem with this in FFX, but I didn't feel it was pushed into my face nearly as much as this game.

But overall, I'm liking it enough to continue. My main concern right now is with the characters, and I'm hoping, really hoping that'll improve. I do love Sazh and his Frocobo however, so at least he'll motivate me to continue to play for now. I am liking this game more than Final Fantasy 8 so far, so that does say a lot. And the hallway stuff doesn't bother me. At least this game is doing a good job at showing off unique environments early to keep my interest. More games need amazing crystalized areas.

And yes, Pierre and Cat, I know you guys looooove to debate about this game. I don't want to debate about this game. This is my first time going into this game blind and these are just my first impressions. I ask that you guys do not try to sway me one way or the other to like or hate this game, I want to make that judgement for myself.
On April 3, 2016, Court Records Forums experienced a miracle upon that day.

Don't you know that their mission is to SAVE COCOON, as is repeatedly stated by Mr Hero Snow?

Besides, I personally like how they have no clue. It's kind of a motive/theme that's going to go along in the game - they each have no clue what to do, but have a timelimit and just aim around. It worked. It didn't seem like a forced kind of "Eh, no idea" type to me. It made sense that they were walking around cluelessly and just... you know, doing stuff.

In Chapter 3, they are sort of running away, but only cause they're still trying to wrap their heads around the whole l'Cie thing up to now. Honestly, closest reaction to sanity was Hope's. Pretty rational for a kid.

The biggest thing right now that bugs me with these characters is right now, I'm not finding them too likeable.

As someone has said (and I kind of agree with them) is that the XIII cast tends to come off as very unlikeable in the beginning, but they do grow to get along with each other and as characters themselves.

More games need amazing crystalized areas.

Absolutely. Crystalized areas can look amazing! I really liked Lake Bresha, especially since it came after the Hanged Edge and the Vestige, which both are the kind of... drab, gray/green, darkly-lit areas with no real... you know? Just looked a bit boring. No real change between the two. But Lake Bresha... gorgeous.

I am doing a DexNavlocke in OR.
I got a Ralts, which I am happy about. Not sure if I'll keep the EXPShare off or on. We'll see.

Also started a new Nuzlocke in Y, since Lysandre practically killed my team in his lab. (Asshole.)

Started playing Final Fantasy XIII for my first time. Steam version has some frame problems and lag, but I'm getting okay with them.

Enjoy

On the topic of Crystallised Areas, there's some beautiful ones in FFXIV.

If you guys want, I'll try to keep ya'll up to date as I go through the game. =) It would be fun to at least discuss this game as I go through it.
On April 3, 2016, Court Records Forums experienced a miracle upon that day.

I'm not sure I do, I'd probably be incited into an argument somewhere down the line. You don't want a debate but I'll say I share some of your concerns about the game.

Go ahead, dullahan. I'll try my best to keep myself from starting an argument or so. But it'd be neat to see how you feel about the game, as you go on.
