No. There is a late sidequest where you can bump into them a few more times and eventually sort of point them out as imposters, but I think that's it. And you don't really get anything from it.

So i beat two dungeons today on Tales of Symphonia, one of them the Desians base, the other the water seal.

The desians base in Palmacosta wasn't a very hard dungeon, just kind of tedious, i was kind of bored by the maze and when i made it to the end
Spoiler:
Killing Magnius was really freaking satisfying. Although Chocolat not recieving help from Lloyd and rather killing herself seems... Kind of depressing. All in all a 100 percent successful trip!

I just kind of came across the water seal dungeon out of accident, i wasn't really looking for it i was just exploring the overworld, that puzzle was kind of difficult mainly because i don't think the game tells you that you can change what the ring does when you check the pedestal, as a result it took me a while to get it working.

Fighting the boss of that area was the hardest one yet as i used up all my items keeping Lloyd alive. Fortunately i amassed so much Gald between the two dungeons and walking in the world map that i replenished my item stock and then some!

Actually, isn't the Sorcerer Ring's function changing at the ring station mentioned in the first area it happens? Namely, the base in the desert?

Also, I'm guessing you missed a ton of items in the Palmacosta Human Ranch. Mostly because A) the items are only visible if you use the radar function of the Ring at that point (they appear as the white glowy things mid-air) and B) several items are only found if you go through the maze specifically and grab the right glowy thing. Don't worry, I never knew about half the items in there until I got a guide for the Treasure Hunter title.

Don't forget to make use of Customization or whatever it's called in English. Using items to upgrade your equipment. Some of those are better than what you can simply buy in the stores.

I guess i wasn't paying attention to that line of dialogue.

I'm pretty sure i did pick up a few items from the shiny spots, but i'm not sure if i picked them all up. I used the customization a couple of times but at the moment i don't have the items capable of making any more things.

So I beat the wind seal and Asgard. This was uneventful outside of the second battle with Sheena, which almost killed my party, holy crap actual difficulty!

Tales Of Symphonia.

Spoiler:
So Colette is slowly losing her humanity as she turns into an angel. Huh, being an angel sounds like it sucks big time.

Anyway i feel like the pasing for this game at this point is all over the place, between the first and second seals there was a huge break between them, or at least it felt like it, then afterwards there was the trip to Asgard and the third seal, feel like i skipped a section which is weird because i talked to every NPC i come across.

Sheena finally joined the party, which is cool, and then i entered the third Desian ranch.
The characters splitting up, man from Raine's point of view the battles just dragged on, nite to self, never put the mages on one team and the fighters on the other. One part will be fun while the other will be boring. The boss of this area looks like he wear saiyan armor. KVar, his boss fight was hard, it took me a couple of times to beat him, managed it on the fourth try.
Spoiler:
Also Kratos killing Kvar was one of the most badass things i've seen in a lont time.

Yeah, it really isn't.

As for the Kratos to Kvar thing, yeah, one of the best things in the game.
And don't ever make a non-healer party. At least, I would suggest to not do so. (One reason why my VS Kvar party is usually Lloyd, Kratos and Refill)

The game does have some minor pacing issues, but I think that's mostly cause the journey of regeneration part is so freaking boring. (And focuses on Collet... who, since I don't care all that much, bugs me for getting attention. I get it, Symphonia is basically the Tales version of FF X, only with a more tolerable protagonist)

Tales Of Symphonia

Somethings happened that i honestly forgot about because of a really long play session due to being hocked on the story.

Went to look for the summons scattered across the region on foot, which helped me get some money and levels, and then proceeded to the tower of Salvation
Spoiler:
These angels, they're tone of voice makes me want to punch them in the face, Colette is now in a catatonic state and i couldn't care less, i mean besides her usefulness in battle i didn't really care for her character. If anything i think this is an improvement.

Anyway boss fights that your supposed to lose, back to back... Jesus christ both times i almost had a heart attack because i ran out of items in the fights before then. Glad that was a thing that happened.

A resistance force that doesn't take the side of the heroes right away? That's an interesting spin. When the party escaped the base all i could think of was the back to the future theme. It fit the moment.

Once i made it to the otherworld i thought i'd go to the first town before finishing off, met two new party members Klonoa and Pretty boy, Wawhoo.

Basically this entire portion of the game can be summed up thusly:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kdhhQhqi_AE

One of those battles is not 'necessary' to lose. It can be won, but on a first playthrough, it can be really difficult to do so. I believe one of the drops is an Ex-Gem Level 3, which is the earliest you can get at that point in the game. (Though you will soon get to an area where you find one in a chest, anyway)

Anyway, to actually post on topic about what I'm playing...

My Pokémon Y Wonderlocke is slowly proceeding. I got the 2nd gym badge and didn't lose ANYONE yet (yay) and finally got my Eevee to Espeon at Level 26... and it knows not a single psychic move. *grumblefuckinglongtimeforfriendshiptoincreasegrumbleotherwisewould'vegottensomething* My Magikarp turned Gyarados and I'm not sure if I should put it into the box. I have an Azumarill and I wanna keep that, since it's currently my only Fairy-type. Though it doesn't know a Fairy move.
Mostly grinding berries (cause I love arming) and money.

I also felt like reinstalling Rollercoaster Tycoon 2 again because I felt like playing the whole theme park thing again. I had difficulty with it starting several times, but that seemed to stop once compatibility was changed from Windows '95 to XP. You know, while I LOVE some of the changes and improvements RCT2 did (like adding an ATM so that my guests stop whining about not having money and then leave angrily), some of it I don't like.

So I also ordered the first RCT and Loopy Landscapes. I'd have to get Corkscrew Follies separately, since the Deluxe edition (which has the main game and its two expansions) would cost 140€!

Tales pf Symphonia.

...I got lost for like 3 hours after going to the university. Only to realize that i had to go to the store next to the university. I. feel. like. an. idiot.

Anyway traveled back to the mountain, which trigered a boss fight, said boss fight was pretty dang easy because of all the enemies i fought during the 3 hour gap. Also have 20,000 gald at this point. Neat.

At this point i have some many party members i have no idea who to put in the main party.

Been messing around with Link Between Worlds. I have already 100%ed the game before, so this time around, I've been trying to replicate glitches (mostly ones that break sequence) and try to get them consistent.

I was able to get the early Death Mountain skip fairly quickly in about half an hour and get it consistent within an hour. However, I've been trying to the big key skip in the first dungeon. Out of, I'd say, 200 tries, I've gotten it 4 times. I have an idea of the precise positioning to pull the glitch off, but not having the exact positioning down yet, as well as timing is still making it very difficult. I'm hoping like the first glitch once I pull it off more frequently, I'll get a better idea of how to execute so it'll be easier to start getting it consistent.

I'm usually not a fan of breaking games, but having done everything in LBW, I thought this would be a good excuse to go back to a game I love and approach it with something new, and I'm glad I'm having fun with it.

Hey, at least you didn't end up accidentally doing the Hard Path of the game because you were too stupid to realize that Izoold had TWO screens! Haha, which is totally not what happened to me on my first playthrough... :sadshoe:

As for whom to put in the main party... someone you can control well, Refill for healing, then it depends. Presea is a great tank, but her defense sucks early on. Zelos is like Kratos, except I personally feel like his fighting style is too flourish-y and slower. But he's a good back-up healer. You'll get another guy later on, he's pretty strong and also has some healing spells. But is not really amazing... least, I thought so.

Much as I love Symphonia, I always felt like Presea and Regal were... just there. No real purpose to their character being around, once their personal plot has been resolved.

I started a new file in A New Beginning. Once again, I will do some minor stuff (cut enough grass to make money early on and unlock better field types; do the fish trapping because I freaking hate that thing) and then sleep until Year 5. Then I have everything unlocked that is unlocked by being in Season X in Year Y and the forage items are good ranks, too.

Currently playing through Persona 3 FES for the first time. I'm at mid-September in-game (the last Arcana Shadow I beat was the Hermit). I just got to the top of the first part of the Tziah block of Tartarus, and WOW the Sleeping Table was merciless. It took me quite a few tries to beat. It didn't help that Yukari wouldn't use Recarm unless absolutely everyone was practically at full HP :/

Maybe I got lucky, but I never had problems with Yukari's AI in my playthrough. Mitsuru though was another story. Funnily enough though, several months back, I watched a live stream of someone doing P3 FES for their first time. They used Mitsuru the whole way through and her AI was pretty good for them. Left me utterly shocked and pretty jealous.

Makes me wish they'd release a definitive edition of Persona 3 like they did with Persona 4. P3P, while it was a great improvement on the battle mechanics, was a huge step back in the immersion department. Plus, rather than adapt The Answer, they instead gave us the female protagonist storyline. Which wasn't necessarily a bad thing, just would have preferred to have both.

Really, all they'd have to do to make it a win in my book is have the social links focus on your team instead of idiot classmates like the one who thinks his teacher's in love with him (worst part of that social link is having to feed his delusions in order to progress), make the romance routes optional, include the improved battle mechanics of P3P, keep the female protagonist as an option, include The Answer (if possible, have an alternate Answer Arc if you played as the female protagonist), keep the 3D graphics of P3FES for the overworld, and turn the costume armors into skins that can be worn regardless of which armor you're wearing.

Oh, and give me the option to turn off Mitsuru/Fukka's voice during battles. Yes, I know Junpei's about to die! I don't need a play by play, thank you! (actually, this option alone would make it worth it).

On that note, the option to switch language tracks would be a plus. Don't get me wrong, I actually rather like most of the voices in P3, it's just that I'd like the option for any replays. Even better would be if I could switch character voices on a case by case basis, that way I can still have Vic Mignogna as Junpei, but have Mamiko Noto as Fuuka (if they do that, I mind not mind her yelling in my ear so much during battles, actually).

My P3P LP was 'undubbed'... it didn't alter anything for me. I still hated all the characters (except Ken, to an extent), still hated the plot, HATED the pacing and the music was as unmemorable for me as before. Only upside, I did not have to listen to Junpei say "Chee-DOOOO-reeee" and actually heard the proper way to pronunce the name. Nothing ruins a supposedly touching scene as someone badly saying another person's name wrong.

I'll admit, some of the addons weren't particularly well thought out, although gardening's probably one of the less irritating ones. (Actually, an "expanded" mode with all the new changes added, plus a "classic" mode with gameplay/story identical to the original would be a nice touch).

That's actually a pretty good idea. As it is, I thought her character was kind of pointless, so this would help matters some.

Hmm, I guess me not having heard the proper pronunciation was a good thing the first time through. Seriously, that bugs the crap out of me. Why is it the director, the actors, or heck, anyone at all, can't be bothered to listen to how the name was originally pronounced? I understand if it's a western name in a semi-western setting, but this is flipping Japan, for Pete's sake! I think they should know how to pronounce their own names! (of course, if you're localizing it to the point of referring to everyone on a first name basis instead of last names, I suppose you'd have an excuse, but still...)

The Japanese voice actors pronounced it properly. The English one fucked it up. I can understand, it's a name that is not common in English and the way of pronounciation is different, yes. But don't they realize how STUPID it sounds, when they say it wrong? And this isn't exclusive to Japanese names. Just imagine someone mispronouncing an English name. Still sounds dumb and annoying. I agree with you, if they had updated the setting to take place in the Western area (like Persona 1's localized version did, which also included name changes) I can understand it. But Persona games have always been localized (except 1, again) to be very open about the fact that they take place in Japan.

And the whole Last Name to First Name always bugged me. It's a huge significance in Japan. Maybe not so much in the west, but you can still write it in and have it be good.

On-Topic. I played the indie game One Night Stand... to make it short, which the game is, it was a disappointment. I like the artstyle and I guess they used motion capture for the girl's movements. That's good! But the rest is... meh.

And I'm gonna play "Death Room". Maybe blind LP it. All I know is, it has multiple endings with varying flavors cause I can choose a lot of things.

I don't know the Persona dub, but in general, I can sorta imagine Western voice actors (trained in Western languages) to have some trouble with Japanese names, because Japanese doesn't have a stress accent (you don't emphasize parts of a word), but a pitch accent (the relative pitch in a series of mora is important). If you're not used to thinking/talking in pitch accent, I can definitely imagine that voice actors have trouble switching midway in a sentence to different pronuncation 'mode' while reading from a script.

Playing Sloan & McHale's Nazo no Monogatari 2 (DS) again, one of those quirky Level-5 adventure games before they started to focus more and more on cross-media projects like Layton, Inazuma Eleven and Yo-Kai Watch. You're told a tale with a strange twist, and you need to deduce why that happened by asking Yes/No questions.

I've spent the summer playing through MGS2, 3 and 4 then burned out through my second playthrough of 5, due to vacations and good weather lol.

Instead I started playing a couple of less time-consuming games that I could play on my smartphone. I tried browsing the Play Store for nice story-driven or at least atmospheric game experiences, and I ended up downloading the sequel to Broken Sword: Shadow of The Templars which I finished two years ago, and I started replaying Last Window on my DraStic emulator as well.

Broken Sword 2 is probably a bit less interesting than the first but it's still great and I love the tone and atmosphere of the games. It's point-and-click adventures with whimsical mysteries. I'd say it's mostly character-driven though. Fun fact: When Dan Brown's Da Vinci Code was first published many players of Broken Sword actually questioned whether Dan Brown's inspiration for his conspiracy-driven plot came from his own research or from Broken Sword, because the ideas are kind of similar, just more fleshed out in Da Vinci Code, but naturally I like Broken Sword better myself, simply because it's not drab and up its own arse about its minutiae.

Broken Sword 2 is definitely not as good as the first one (and a lot, loooot shorter), but a decent game. 3 and 4 each had their own set of problems, and 5 is a decent comeback to the older formula. Not a big fan of the remastered version/Director's Cut of BS1/2 though. I don't really like the new portraits, and in the case of BS1, the new segments really hurt the narrative of the first game (ruining the opening of the original game for example by adding a Nico part before the iconic explosion scene).

I know. I was referring to how English dubs seem like they rarely consult with the Japanese for pronunciation of names, even when they're names the Japanese should be experts on.

Back on topic, I've recently finished Professor Layton and the Miracle Mask. Now I'm debating on whether I should finish Etrian Odyssey Untold, Majora's Mask, or Steins;Gate next.

You're told a tale with a strange twist, and you need to deduce why that happened by asking Yes/No questions.

Wait... 2? They made a sequel to that game?

Tales of Symphonia, went into the forest, got lost for a bit.

Eventually i made it to the Japanese village Mizuho before going back into the forest.
Got into a boss fight which was the definition of 'that escalated quickly' before making it out.
Presea left the party which is unfortunate, i liked having her in the party. Got a muscle man who reminds me of Ike as her replacement for now as i went to a mineshaft.

I saved the game halfway through the dungeon.

Huh... I picked up the first one for 250 yen in Book-Off. I had never heard of it before, but it looked interesting enough for 250 yen. I only ever got around to doing a couple of the puzzles.

Bet you didn't get the Wolfsuit armor in there. It is pretty well hidden. Thankfully, I got so used to that dungeon, I know how to proceed through it ASAP. And be glad you got the GC version to play. The enhanced ports REALLY darkened the dark rooms, so you are more reliant on the lightning.

A anime-memorabilia shop I go to has an arcade cabinet with old 2D JoJo's Bizarre Adventure fighters on it and those are plenty fun.

Rollercoaster Tycoon 1 - OmG, I forgot just HOW stupid the guests were! They claim they don't need the toilet, when their toilet bar is almost full; I plunk them near a toilet that they'll pass... and they just pass. Urgh, I'm so glad that RCT 2 improved the guest AI a little bit!

Teatrhythm Curtain Call - I might restart this... again... dunno... Also, I STILL hate Ultimate Score difficulty. Especially in the Online Battles, where Ex Bursts fuck with your notes. That's just annoying.

I think you can disable Ex Burst in some matches. I know you can do it for local matches at least. It takes skill almost entirely out of the factor considering that the bursts distributed seem random. Could get 3 Judgements in a row and just suffer.

I'm playing Monster Hunter Generations.
