Now, I know that HDTV's are bad with video games because there's a slight lag when playing. However, if it has high definition as a setting, if you use it as just a regular TV and turn off HD, would it still have the lag?

I'm pretty sure if you turn it to SD, it would in fact, kill the lag.

But I do know that many new games (like Guitar Hero) can be run in Progressive Scan. Try the options menus to see if they can do that.
