Am I and Pandan the only ones who have played any of the Monkey Island games? I've played Curse of Monkey Island and Escape from Monkey Island, and the Curse I will forever have a fondness for in my heart.

Where to start, where to start...

First I... wait a minute...

Have you only played the third and fourth?! I'm... I'm... disappointed in you.

...D:

Then go and get the first two!

If I should rank them, it would probably be: Curse, MI2, Secret, Escape.

Third one is too lovable, second one is... too awsome, first one is, well it's the first one! And the fourth is not great, but still funny.

And yes, it's almost impossible to buy the first two, but just download them, I did. And they're great. Of course.
It's Ron Gilbert! :D

...And yay! Another fan!

Ha, I'll go download them later. I've gotten excited about the games again, seeing as I just replayed the Curse.

Yeah, you're tempting me too.

Aww, I have to get my mom to play it again! She played curse, and she's halfway through Secret. But I think it was too long since she played it last so she will probably have to start over if I don't help her.

There isn't any official announcement that they're going to make a fifth one, all there is are rumors. I just doubt they'd return to an eight year old series.

I played the first 2... althought I only completed the first one... and the second one I think I was practically at the end...

Also played some demo for the 3rd game...

PS: The 1st one is still my favourite... :shoe:

Please don't throw sporks when I say this...

I've only played the last two, and technically I've only played the third one and about a quarter of the fourth one. I watched my dad play the fourth one...

Then again, I'm fifteen, I wasn't around for the original Monkey Island games and if I was I was way too young to be playing them!

I was in WallyWorld the other day and saw a game called Jack Keane. The review on the front said, "Monkey Island done right at last!" I was thinking, wait... Monkey Island was near perfect in my eyes...

Oh, and what about the Monkey Island play? That was really funny but it took forEVER to load.

Jack Keane sucks. Nowhere near the greatness of Monkey Island.

So, you're fifteen, no big deal.
The first one came out the year I was born and I have still played all of them.
Just download the first two, it's well worth it. Trust me. ;)

"Monkey Island done right at last".
There's nothing more to be done. It's already perfect.
The fourth could have used a little more work, but 1-3 are and will forever be unbeatable.

And the MI play, it wasn't great but still a little funny, yes.

The reason I say near perfect is because the third one ran really slow on my computer and was a little buggy... then I figured out that I hadn't installed all the files for SCUMM VM. That's the only way I can play the third one.

You've never heard of MI? o_O

The systems for the first games are probably too old for you but you can download the first two for PC if you want to, using ScummVM to run.
The last two should still be found in stores.
At least the fourth.

I have a version SoMI (and I used to have MI2 but I lost the file) that doesn't shouldn't require ScummVM.

And LucasArts is still keeping a really tight lid on all of their old games. It's practically impossible to find the files online on abandonware sites. You might be able to get torrents of the first two games or download them on Limewire or whatever if you're okay with blurring legal boundaries, but I haven't tried either so I don't know if they're available that way.
