I'm copying this post from a topic I made another forum I go to. No-one's even replied to it, but I hope it won't be the same here.
Yeah, I don't often make game topics since they usually die, but I have to make one for this. First, a brief history of how I found the game. Basically, a year or so back. I was bored and wanted an online game to play. Many places gave KoL the thumbs up, but it mentioned it had adult themes, and I wasn't bothered. Then I read up on it more, and it was all based around funny stuff, and pretty much suitable for teens upwards. So I played, got addicted, went away, and then recently come back. Unluckily for me, accounts die if they're not played on for 60 days, and I lost all my special items. But meh, I've started again, and I'm better at it than I ever was before.
So now to the game itself. It's hard to explain, but Wikipedia puts it as a 'humorous, browser-based, multiplayer role playing game' and I can't come up with anything better, or more true. For a start, it's completely loaded with funny stuff, mostly surreal and pop cultural. Want an example? Ok here's one of the Quests that you can do in the game. (A sidequest, so it's not too spoilery)
You meet this character, who wants you to find the mystical White Citadel and get him some food. So you, and your pet (Called a familiar) search a grove in the forest full of creatures made out of white chocolate, until you find the road you need that's full of business hippies, extreme sport orcs, an angry glove puppet a giant cat, which you have to fight. You then have to hang-glide over a giant cliff until you reach the place to find out... It's a fast food chain. Kinda like the ones in called White Castle...
Yes, that WHOLE quest was based around the film called 'Harold & Kumar Go to White Castle'. The entire game is like that, not only in what you do, and fight, but the brilliant messages you get when you meet, hit, get hit by, and beat them. Not only that, but it's pretty engrossing. There's a lot to do, including a clan system, shops to make money, chat rooms built in, etc. Now to the graphics. They're all stick figures. Yeah, like THIS:

That's a business Hippy.
What I like about it most though, is the amount of content and replayability it has. For a start, you can pick from six different classes, all which have their own style of play. They also have their own skills. Secondly, you only get so many 'adventures' (ie. turns) per day, and while alcoholic beverages and food can give you more, at some point you'll be done for the day. Thirdly, when you're done... YOU CAN START AGAIN. But, you can choose a new, or the same class, pick a skill to keep, choose a 'star sign' that gives you a bonus that opens up new content in the game... yeah. There's a lot to do, and it sucks you in like an evil whirlpool. I'm not sure there's one in this game, but I hope there freaking is. Then I can kick it's watery arse.
So yeah, as I said, hard to explain. But if you're interested, then check it out.
It's here. It's also free to play, and you won't have to pay for any of the normal content. For donations, you do get a special accessory that you can trade in for an item in a special store, but 90% of the time it's just a cool item or familiar, and even the ones that add content do it in a way that everyone can experience. One last example. Astral Badgers are a familiar that drops astral mushrooms, that give you special acid trips. Now, they often get sold in stores for moderate prices. That means anyone can get the cool rewards from the new content, which is fair.
That's about all I can say. But if you do join and like it, give me a KoL message. I can hook you up to my clan when you're leveled up enough and stuff. They've even made a multiplayer dungeon now for clans, seriously. You get to beat up hobos. :3
So yeah, discuss and stuff... or I'll probably go and cry in a corner :( (I'm not really having a good week so far, as you probably have guessed)
