I played a Putt-Putt and Freddie fish as a kid but never played PJ Sam.

So I picked it up for a laugh or two.
I had forgotten how much fun point and click adventure (no matter how easy) can be.

Any other good games from the genre you can recommend (besides Zack and Wiki, which is next for me to buy)?

I always preferred Freddie Fish, Pajama Sam and Spy Fox over Putt-Putt. I played 'em all when I was younger, though. I'd love to play them again. :/

I remember Pajama Sam. They made a wii one?

Also, Spy Fox owns. One of these days I should play at least one of them again and see if it holds up.

Dude, Putt-Putt rocked. I used to play those games over and over. I played one Pajama Sam game and I used to play Freddie the Fish at the library, but I can't believe these are becoming console games!!! :udgy:

They didn't make a new one, just ported it onto the Wii as WiiWare (I think).

Oh my god, other people actually liked all those games. I kind of thought I was the only one.
Yep, I saw that at our local movie rental place... I showed my mom, and we both just started laughing.
Yes, I do believe it was just imported to the Wii, or whatever.

Anyway, I'm sad that I never played Spy Fox. I played the demos and stuff but I never actually bought a game. I thought it'd be too hard, haha.
I played Putt-Putt, Freddi Fish, Pajama Sam, the whole deal. I actually - somewhere, it's missing - have a Pajama Sam plush toy. I don't know where I got it but it was the bomb.

I don't really know what to recommend, but I kind of just felt like reminiscing. Sorry about that, hah.

IS THIS THE GAME WHERE I RIDE A DONUT THROUGH SOMEONE'S CARDIOVASCULAR SYSTEM?

I played almost every Humongous Entertainment game except Spyfox, if you don't count the demos. I even played at least one of each Backyard Sport. I was a Putt-Putt addict. I would wrack my brain trying to beat just ONE over the course of an afternoon, and when I did, I was SO proud of myself.

Now, when I play them, it takes me pretty much ten minutes to get all the animals back to their respective zoo pens.

O youth, your evasion from my grasp is all too swift.
I always loved hearing that one particular song a group of cars/people/objects would sing in the Putt Putt games.

HOLY CRAP

I REMEMBER THAT GAME

I was a huge fan of Freddie Fish/PutPut/SpyFox/Pajama Sam. My cousin and I were bored recently so we beat SpyFox in under a minute. (Hooray for the ESC key.) Also- PutPut is brain numbing. D:

I loved the Humongous Entertainment games. Another one in the same vein (but not for Wii) is Nightmare Ned, based on the TV show. Then of course, there are the LucasArts classics (The Dig, Monkey Island, Day of the Tentacle, Grim Fandango, Sam and Max), Beneath a Steel Sky, and I Have No Mouth and I Must Scream.

Of course, if you just wanted Wii games disregard this post.

Putt-Putt Goes to the Zoo, Putt-Putt Goes to the Moon, Spy Fox in Dry Cereal, Pajama Sam: No Need to Hide when it's Dark Outside, Pajama Sam: Thunder and Lightning aren't Very Frightening, Freddie Fish and the School Mystery (I think? Might've been "Goes to School").

Best PC games ever. No question about it. Seriously, Spy Fox's game had two different paths to choose, and you could change Putt-Putt's color! Awesomeness to the max. And Pajama Sam taught you how to play Tic-Tac-Toe with Cheese and Crackers. Total win.

good times, good times. :hobohodo: My cousin owned Pajama Sam and Putt-Putt and man, was that addicting.
I <3 Pajama Sam
Also, I'd buy those (ugh, was it... Kellog's that did it? *can't remember*) cereals where you get a free CD in every box, and I had so much fun playing Backyard Baseball because I failed so bad at actual baseball though for some reason I stopped playing right before my team got to the finals O.o
There was this one other game by humongous entertainment that was just a demo or something, but UUUUUUUUGH I can't remember what it is. I just remember something like... I dunno, 2 blue-haired people singing and stuff and something about having a backyard with a sandbox... and... shapes... ok I can't remember. Boy, no sleep tonight! *thinks about it all day* :eh?:

Actually, I was considering getting Spy Fox: Dry Cereal for the Wii recently considering I never play any of the original games. Of course, I want most want it for the crazy but hilarious story.

When I was younger I played Spy Fox and Pajama Sam. Can say I know much about the rest.

For Pajama Sam I just remember playing one involving the dark.

About Spy Fox, I remember playing one with cows and one that involved an amusment park.

Lucasarts and Telltale games are awesome. Shame Sam & Max for the Wii got pushed back to october, but meh.

Grim Fandango, Monkey Island, both the new and old Sam & Max games, Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis, Maniac Mansion and Day of the tentacle are some of my favorite Point & Click titles.

Ehmagawd, I actually still have these games! The old PC ones! Putt-Putt, Pajama Sam, Spy Fox, and Freddi Fish!!!!!!

I actually hated Putt-Putt. Except for the one where he travels through time. I loved the future level :3

Freddi Fish I also hated. They were so DULL!

Pajama Sam is effing hilarious. YES I'M GOING TO GET QUIZZED BY A TALKING DOOR TO GET INTO A SECRET KITCHEN FULL OF SINGING UTENSILS SO I CAN GET A LUNCHBOX THAT WILL HELP ME OVERCOME MY FEAR OF THE DARK

Spy Fox is cool as well. All of 'em are SWEET! The one with the Napoleon Bonaparte roach, the one with the crazy goat, and the one with the random ozone-killing cat! F'YEAH

It's cool that HE games are coming out for Wii. Also released for Wii are Spy Fox 1 and Freddi Fish 1. I'd get them if I didn't already have most of the HE games for PC.

I remember these! I used to play Pajama Sam at a friends house all the time!

Does anyone remember the one where you're a teddybear and you have to make a birthday cake for your owner? I used to have the game memorized, barely had to think.

You're thinking BIG!

Ah, I had basically every adventure game by Humongous Entertainment when I was a kid. Five out of six Putt-Putt games (to be fair, one hadn't come out yet) and all three of the Pajama Sam and Spy Fox games (plus Fatty Bear's Birthday Surprise, which never got a sequel, unless you count Bear Stormin'... Christ, I'm like a kid's games nerd). I also had the third and fourth Freddi Fish games, but they never really interested me as much as the other series. I even had some non-adventure games, like Putt-Putt and Fatty Bear's Activity Pack and Pajama Sam's Sock Works. And I almost forgot to mention the entire Backyard Sports line! Back then, anything that had the HE logo on it was good enough for me.

Anyway, the main reason I posted in this topic is that I just finished downloading copies of most of these games. This is probably illegal, but my family paid for all of them back in the day! It's not my fault I was foolish enough to give them away when I thought I was too old for them!... Still, it's a blast to play through these games again and relive the memories. Plus, all of the jokes make sense now!

I've also been really enjoying these games' music. The early games -- namely Fatty Bear's Birthday Surprise, Putt-Putt Joins the Parade, and Putt-Putt Goes to the Moon -- have especially memorable MIDI soundtracks. The music was composed by George "The Fat Man" Sanger, whose music you've probably heard somewhere in one of the 250 games he's worked on. I like these so much I've even gone so far as recording the tracks to mp3s so I can listen to them outside of the game. In fact, why don't I share the love?

(On a side note, I must profess my undying love for whoever it was that decided to make ScummVM compatible with a bunch of kids' games no one cares about.)

Well, since the HE games are running on the SCUMM engine (albeit enhanced), it wasn't too difficult at all to make ScummVM compatible with them!

After all, Ron Gilbert had just done such classic LucasArts adventures as Maniac Mansion, Zak McKracken, Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade: The Graphic Adventure, the first two Monkey Islands, and Day of the Tentacle before being a co-founder/co-creator of those great HE games.
