Good news, indeed. Now we just need to ignore all the silly rumors of how since the initials for the game spell NMH: DS, that somehow automatically makes it a DS game.

Seriously though, the first game was great, even if it did sell poorly. If they can expand the concept in a unique way, I'm all for it.

According to the press release, the game is set to be released in the U.S. in January 2010, and Europe February/March 2010. Yes, that's about 15 months away from now.

It may have been highly repetitive, but the boss fights and soundtrack so made it worth it. Also, how many games can you say that has you mass murdering people but taking a break once in while to rescue kittens? :garyuu:

I'm glad to see another NMH game but I was kinda hope it wasn't a sequel. Oh well, I'm sure that Suda51 will keep the story as great as it was in the first NMH game.

Don't get me wrong I loved the game, as I made evident in my post, "highly repetitive... But it was fun". It was certainly different and a breath of fresh air from all those rubbish Wii games.

But even so, I'm pretty excited for this one. It's really nice to see such an original game be successful enough to merit a sequel

other news involving this game (sorry if it was in the source from the 1st post) Is the game will have 2 versions, a censored one (most likely to get the 15/16 age requirement) and a normal, lotsa blood one. This news is good for the European gamers who were forced to get the censored one last time.

Ah! I read about that from Youtube Comments! It's great to hear there will be Blood, as well as "Teh Black Ooze!" having seperate versions this time...

From Rising Star press release, a little info about NMH:DS story was added:

Quote:
Taking place three years after the end of the first title, No More Heroes: Desperate Struggle sees hero Travis Touchdown embark on a mission of revenge following the murder of his best friend. Featuring improvements to the game engine and graphics, Suda51 also promises a far busier Santa Destroy, much darker tone and also a few surprises to come.

So, Who is this "Best Friend" they are talking out? The Beefhead Video Dude? His cat, Jeane? A new character?

Also from an article I saw on GoNintendo,

Suda51 wrote:
“I would like to use Wii MotionPlus for No More Heroes 2 if I could…I haven’t even touched Wii MotionPlus yet so I am not aware with how it works so that’s why I am not sure yet.”

So, Wii Motion Plus is questionable at the moment. But with over a year before it's release to go, we'll have to keep our fingers crossed. :hobohodo:

The only censoring that I liked was
Spoiler:
Jeane's revelation being fast-forwarded. It was a nice touch, a brilliant way of breaking the fourth wall. And it was necessary. After all, molestation and prostitution will jack it up from M to MA here in a flash.

I'm really kind of worried. One of the reasons I love NMH is because of it's humor, but NMHDS is supposed to be more "serious"? I really hope the humor isn't a thing of the past :larry:

Lets be honest. The humour is really fully brought up at the END of the game, isn't it? Right before the battle against the Top of the List fighter?

Sure, they show plenty beforehand, but they really give the amount of humour a boost at the end.

On the issue of humor:
Suda on the game’s tone wrote:
I think it’s time for No More Heroes to become serious. But it’s going to have humour, don’t worry. It won’t be too serious.

You have from the mouth of the man himself, it's serious more then NMH 1 but not overly serious.

Quote pulled from this article and it contains a link to a 3 page interview with Suda 51...

Relevant bump, new trailer for the game is out.
And it looks like Bishop is indeed the victim and Travis's reason for fighting.

Unlike EU No More Heroes, they'll be releasing two versions, a hardcore version with blood, gore and flying limbs, and a mild version with vaporising dust.
