One thing I miss so much in today's uber-realism games is bosses. They were even in the American games back when they were made right. Heck, I think we can all say we only play Megaman for its great bosses. But this post is all about their music. Whatever songs really get you pumped during a battle, or emphasize the epicness of the monster/person you're fighting. Here are my top picks, in no particular order. NOTE: I would be grateful if you post a YouTube link to the song with your post. Just hearing about a song doesn't help much. If you can't find a link, it's fine. FFVII FFVII: One Winged Angel (Okay, you've all heard it before) FFVIII Jet Force Gemini Paper Mario: Crystal King (the ORIGINAL, none of this Bowser-on-your-side crap) Paper Mario: Bowser Trauma Center UTK 2: Aletheia Starfox 64: Andross' Brain (learning that there's a secret boss after playing the game like 50 times gives you such an insane rush) Sonic 3 (& Knuckles): The Doomsday Zone (another "secret boss"; you only get this if you collected all the chaos emeralds) Ridley (I took the one from Metroid Fusion, which I like. A lot of people have preferences, though) |

Though if I'm not mistaken, "Kraidgief" walking all the way over to you in the battle against him plays something that sounds like "Yu Wa Shock"... Maybe that's also from it... |

This tune from Tales of symphonia, it was from a few of the bonus battles, most notably the one against past tales stars. Viewtiful Joe Another Joe boss theme. mario and luigi Popple the thief's theme. I'll think of some more tommorow. |

Yggdra Union: Gulcasa's Theme Radiata Stories: Uber Enemy Theme Soul Nomad & the World Eaters: Rock'n Rocks Mana Khemia: Crystalized (I dunno, the label says "Battle Theme", but it IS a boss theme for me, since it's only used when we face Toni and Renee, so...) I guess that's it, for some variety.

My favourite is Crocodile Cacophony from the Kaptain K.Rool boss fight from Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy's Kong Quest. Second would have to be Boss Bossanova, the regular boss music from the same game. |

Without a doubt, that chase was AWESOME!!! For the entire level, you're avoiding Clubba after Clubba by slowly sneaking around them... (Or fighting them if you're trying to gain exp., but you're probably going bad since their attack is so freakin' powerful!), and then you see Tubba Blubba... We all thought it at one point... "Maybe all those claims of invincibility were wrong...?". ... They weren't. Then you run out of the room, thinking he won't follow you... but when you see him RIGHT behind you, you're basically ignoring all your "Stealth" abilities. "OUT OF MY WAY YOU STUPID CLUBBA!!!" It was, by FAR, one of the best parts of the entire Paper Mario series, since very few parts of the MAIN STORYLINE pump you up like that one scene did... And he was only the THIRD Boss with a Star Spirit!!! And the MUSIC in that game was pure art at its finest. Each theme there seemed to compliment the boss you're fighting! Anyways, from Earthbound, clocking it at an Unknown Weight... |
