Resident Evil 5 is an awesome game. Although I hope it's just a cheap RE4 rip-off because I haven't played 4 yet so when I do that would mean huge levels of epic. XD

Anyways, considering how hard it is to actually make a computer intelligent, I found Sheva's AI astonishing. Although after playing it through a couple times I now just use her as a trash can for ammo and healing items because I have infinite ammos. :P

Though Professional is proving a challenge. I'm stuck at Ndesu because my infinite rockit luncher is useless in that chapter. -_-

re4 is, in a lot of ways, a different experience from re5. don't go into it just expecting action - it's a bit slower paced, and the item management system is pretty radically different (though it's probably my favorite inventory system ever). it's also longer and more of a lonely game, since you don't have a partner and ashley gets kidnapped a lot. i think i still prefer re4 to 5, though, because it's more of a survival horror game than re5 which is just shootan.

Tbh, if you have a Gamecube, get the Resident Evil 1 Remake. Personally my favourite RE game ever and the only one to ever actually have scared me a little.

Of course if you don't have a Gamecube, then you could get DS or the original. I know that DS is pretty much another remake of number 1 but I've never actually played it so I wouldn't know how good it is.

Gozu you're a fartface.

I need more PSN friends to play Versus with. Sometimes you meet really awesome people and it's a ton of fun, and sometimes you meet jerkfaces. Thankfully I've met more awesome people than jerkfaces so far, but it just takes one 13 year old ranting about balls to make you want to throw a controller out the window. And that dualshock3 was expensive!

God you lost your Resident Evil 5 online virginity to justinrocks187, some random no namer who isn't me

By the way, playing co-op completely made the game funner, although a lot of it was Gozu and I just bullshitting over the mics.

Sheva's AI is still uncontrollable and shitty though, so I can't play it without co-op, which sort of makes it a bit annoying. I refuse to play with random people on Live

Got 1000 on Resi 5 today and bought Versus, not yet played it but I hope to get the achievements from that too, I look forward to it. It was a good game, but going through Pro difficulty on solo was just incredibly frustrating. I can't help but feel cheated when I get put into dying standing right next to Sheva, and all she does is face me and watches me die. She either does that or decides to run off to fight an enemy, regardless of whether she is in Cover or Attacking mode. Her AI is bearable on Normal and Veteran though.
Streets ahead.

Yeahhhhh AI on Pro is like suicide depending on the chapter. I was doing okay with her the other night in the early sections. But 5-3? Bahhhhhhhh.

But if you're having problems with the AI in normal or vet mode, what you really need is to give Sheva just the bow. She almost never misses and it's an instant kill on all low level enemies. Then you don't have to worry about her needing ammo, just pile all your herbs on her.

Here's some time-saving tips I picked up from various players too:

Spoiler: "chapter 2-2"
Especially useful on Pro. Instead of tossing Sheva across the gap, stand on the right side of the balcony and chuck a grenade against the signs on the opposite building. If you aim right you can blow the lock off the door and then just make a run for the chainsaw - skip the whole sequence.

Spoiler: "chapter 4... something"
If you have the infinite rocket launcher (or if you and your partner have one) you can take out the Sunlight Lasers. Walk down the steps until you're almost in the laser path and aim for the base. Then you don't have to worry about your patner blundering to their death!

Trust me, Chapter 6 is just impossible, you have to do the whole thing (well, do each checkpoint) without getting hit since any attack will put you into dying and Sheva just won't save you. Out of the all the times I died in Chapter 6 I think Sheva saved me once. That said, if when you say 5-3 you mean the end boss fight, I actually did that on my first go which I was rather pleased with, I gave her a magnum though and she used it well. Chapter 6 is tough, but when you memorise where all the enemies are its not too bad, its how I did it at least.

Also, I played a few versus matches... sorta pissed off that I lose because everyone is running around as Wesker/Jill and end up killing me with their powerful starting weapons and the like. I can see it being fun, but I get annoyed by the Majini in survival mode, and the whole no move and shoot thing is still a little stupid for online play. That said, I'm still going to try to get 1200 on Resi 5, but it could take a while...

Yeah, I've never had a problem getting Sheva to heal me. You just have to ask nicely~

I like playing as Sheva with the bow! I know some guys that prefer Sheva because she takes up less of the screen and doesn't hold the Hydra like a badass. I like to switch back and forth, personally.

This is why I've been playing mostly Survivors. The starting weapons are a lot more balanced and there's never a question of if you should be shooting Majini or each other. But I'll have to switch back to Slayers for the trophy eventually... There are people on Gamefaqs all the time setting up "Friendly Slayers" matches to get around the Broken Wesker issue.

Kinda wish they'd just make Mercenaries 4 player then you wouldn't have to worry about that.

I really would prefer playing as Sheva because I get to stare at her ass, it's on the right side facing left instead of vice versa (which I feel is way cooler), takes up less screen, and all of that great stuff.

But when gozu and I switched characters, we were both so used to playing as Sheva and Chris respectively, we just couldn't aim as well anymore. As Chris I know exactly where my guns are facing at all times. When I quickly raise up my weapon to aim, I know how far or little I need to tilt the analog stick to get my laser pointer at a headshot, so when suddenly I was mirrored, it kind of screwed me up and I felt uncomfortable.

Goddamn ;_;

Which one is 2-3, the turret section and boss fight? I did the turret fine, I found the boss the hardest. It would be easier if those Majini didn't pop up now and again, and I swear the button prompts to dodge his fist attacks just popped up for less than a second on occasion, making them impossibly to dodge.

Geez, you didn't all have to make such a bigg deal out of this.

@Gozu: I never considered Jill actually died, I meant the fact that you had to fight her was a twist, since Chris & Jill are practically inseparable partners. Call me dumb all you want, but I never really took mind manipulation into consideration. Besides, don't you have better things to do than going around making fun of people that are younger than you?

Read the computer right after you fight the U8 and it explains that the blonde hair and paler skin are a side effect of the cryo treatments and various experimentations blah blah blah.

Alternatively: Capcom were going for the sex appeal approach. Y'know, between the blonde hair, tight cat suit, Jill ripping open said tight cat suit at the chest etc.

I personally think it's a not very subtle allusion to Nazism.
Wesker's aim was to create a new world order, one of only "superior" people such as himself, Jill and people who had been fully accepted by the parasite. This obviously parrelels with Hitler's dream of the master race.
Him, as well as Jill, being blonde most likely points towards that.

(Also, I've only been spoiled for re5, I don't actually own it yet so I may be talking rubbish)

Some friends of mine have taken it upon themselves to beat every resident evil in order in a week, which was quickly changed to a month, which was quickly changed to one summer. I witnessed some RE0 playing last night, and man, T Virus monkeys are hilarious.
