I definitely hope that's true... (Although I did want the title to be "Pandora's Box", especially with what looks like Pandora on the cover =\ ) Of course, as I said in the Kenji Trademark Thread: I guess the title really doesn't matter, since the game is still the game ^_^

Lol, that guy (seriously) in the cover is called Anthony, and he's like the game's "final boss".

So Pandora got a gender change. So what? I don't care. It should still be called Pandora's Box.

And yes, I'm sure they had gender-changing operations in Layton's time period...

I don't think so. My guess is that you got Layton and another game confused. :phoenix:
Studio Ghibli are making another game with Level 5 (the makers of Layton), which is called "Another World". :edgy:

Ok, that guarentees that this movie won't turn into a piece of crap like that Dragonball movie. Still, it's going to be awhile before we get to see the movie.

Yes, it won't be coming out until next year unfortunately. It'd be lovely to see in English, but my guess is the only thing we'll be seeing is some subbed videos. :sadshoe:

Animal Crossing movie? When did this happen and how did I miss this?

On topic: YESSS!!! It's about time! I did all but one of the puzzles in my game, including the weekly ones, as well as several of the European-only ones.

Ahhh! ~ This is wonderful! I've been waiting to hear news of the second game being released in the states. I mean, I'm already antsy for the third and the second hasn't even been translated yet! xD

Thank you so much for posting the article!

I've just finished the first Layton, and can't wait to play the second. I read some stuff in Nintendo Magazine (which reviewed the Japanese release) which all seemed pretty cool when it gets ported over here. Nintendo would be silly if they didn't port the whole trilogy, given that it was almost impossible to get a hold of the first one within the first couple of months of release =S

ALSO Animal Crossing movie is brilliant! So cute!

Even if they do port the whole trilogy, it'll be awhile before we get it. It usually takes half a year to a year to translate it.

Weird, seeing as AJ took ten months to transalte, and Layton probably has way more text. :edgy:

10 months is between half a year and a year :payne: there are 12 months in year.

No, i think Phoenix Wright has more dialogue. Though you'd have to translate the buttons/interface etc. and the puzzles.

Hmmm...I guess I better get cracking on finishing the first game. I got frustrated with all the puzzles I couldn't solve and put it down and I have yet to pick it up again. I've been too busy replaying the AA games again and managing to squeeze in WoW to boot.

Layton is an amazing game. The music and animation is beautiful and the voice acting is great too (I can't say the same for a lot of other games... need more JP language options...). Once I picked it up, I couldn't put it down until it made me feel incredibly stupid. I eagerly await the next one as the first game continues to own my ass.

This is bullshit.
I'm done.

I've finished the main storyline but have a few hidden puzzles to find before I complete them all, which are being a massive pain to locate :zenitora:

Same here. If are trying to find hidden puzzles, try using a walkthrough. they can be very helpful. GameFAQs is a great place to start.

Apparently Layton's got legs. It's the fourth-best-selling NDS title this month, ahead of GTA Chinatown Wars, which moved 88,000. Not sure how much it sold, but if it's doing this well this far down the line then I imagine nobody here need worry that a sequel could be dropped for financial reasons.

Layton makes me happy. I'm looking forward to the release of this game, I need my Layton fix.

I was thinking something like that. It also sounded a bit Japanese. Maybe they dubbed this just for the trailer, and since that last scene hasn't got any text, maybe they didn't bother themselves and left it like that.

...The asthma teory is better.

Looks stunning. I like the logo, it's more refined and spooky than the Curious Village's.
I would've liked to hear how they did Anthony's voice though, but whatever. :phoenix:

IIRC, in The Japanese trailer Luke protests against opening the box to Layton. So yeah. :phoenix:

Incidently, Professor Layton 2 will be coming to the UK in September, except it'll be Pandora's Box (which I personally think is better)rather than Diabolical Box, but I'm gonna be naughty & import it beforehand ;)

Pandora's Box is a MUCH better name.
Haha, imagine if you pre-order the NA version, then find out that the dates are August 31 and September 1...

That would be pretty funny, but at least it would be a guarentee of me getting the game. Besides, I don't want to go through Luke's redubbed voice with the UK version (they did it to Curious Village so I'm gonna guess that they'll do it again) as its so pointless & fucking annoying.

Out of interest, as I own the US version, how was Luke's voice redubbed? What changes were made to the sound of it?

It's horrible. It's high-pitched, and the accent sounds like something out of a parody. Check YouTube.

Well, let's say Luke is about 8 to 11 years old. Well, the EU version made him sound about 3 years old.
I liked the US version voice, it was cute and appropriate.

Also, that's interesting news about the EU release. I doubt it'd affect Australia though, I think we actually got the US version. Also, checking the Australian EB Games website they have it listed as The Diabolical Box.

It is wierd I actually like "The Diabolical Box" over "The Pandora's Box"?
IDK, The Diabolical Box just rolls off the tongue better.
