Have you ever thrown or destroyed something because a video game pissed you off? I was playing Diddy Kong Racing DS the other day, and Taj wouldn't get lost and kept appearing, forcing me to do some challenge I didn't want to do at the time. I thought I had gotten away from him and he appeared again. So, impulsively, I launched the DS across my room and CRACK, it hit a metal bar on my rowing machine. For some reason, the GBA filler thing (that goes in the DS Lite) had ejected out of it, but my DS was fortunately still in good nick. Good old Nintendo. Phoenix

Also, partially unrelated because games didn't cause it, once my dad was snoring and it woke me up at night. I must have been half-asleep because it wasn't intentional, but I grabbed the nearest object (my GP2X handheld console) and slammed it on the floor. XD And hey, a battery spring was out of place but when I moved it it worked. Once I also launched my Nokia phone across the room because Symbian crashed at a really important time when I was online. The screen smashed. Gant

I have an anger problem, right? Or have you, like, done worse? Ini Mimi

One time I was playing Super Smash Bros. Melee. No matter how hard I tried I just couldn't get past a certain event match because the AI was being a cheating hack, so I took my controller and smashed it against the side of my TV in a fit of rage, giving it a giant black mark along the side. That also destroyed (literally 'destroyed') my Z Button. I took a break then went back and pwned that event match with Marth.

Nah. I'm rather careful with my possessions (or those I don't own).

There was a kid in my Theory of Knowledge class once, that always brought a PSP and sneakily played games.
Apparently he killed himself in-game and decided that hurling the PSP to the floor was the best course of action and yelling "FUCK THIS" :Zenny

Thank god it was in one of those cases. Otherwise, that is an example of an anger problem.

I used to bite my N64 controller everytime I was frustrated while playing a game. Godot You should see those bite marks.

And, oh, except for that, I broke two Ps2 controllers because of Tekken 5. That game was too hard in the beginning, and I thought they had toned down Ling Xiaoyu too much. Now I guess I was wrong. Gymshoe
Also hated the last battle in Jak 3, it was unfair.

I'm not usually one to get upset over something bad that happens in a game. At least, not to the point of physical violence. It's much more reasonable to stop playing for a while instead, or so I think.

I used to throw my controller on the floor when I would get enraged at a game... (surprised my N64 controllers never broke) But now if I get mad at a game, I just turn it off and stop playing it for a while, all while fighting those inner urges to throw something.

I did something like this once to my old calculator. It was during the beginning of my Senior year and was really frustrated with doing bad, so I chucked my calculator. A big white line obscured the screen. I regretted it later...

I've never once gotten angry at a video game. Annoyed, many times, but never angry.

Even if I was, I could never throw anything... <3

When I was first playing Minigame Island in the original Mario Party, I always hated the minigame in which you had to row across a river by rotating the joystick repeatedly. It really hurt my hands (I could swear that if I rotated any more, my hand would have a hole in it ;__;). After doing it 20+ times, I got so frustrated (and burned) that I threw my controller at the floor in rage! Thankfully, only the L-Button (the least used button on the N64) broke, and from then on I vowed to myself to never (intentionally) throw another controller again.

Yeah, I remember Mario Party! Minigame Island ticked me off with alot of those minigames. In fact, I drilled a hole in hand before from having to rotate the control stick so much!

Ok, on topic, I'd have to say the only games that have really gotten me angry include probably every game but the final fantasies. Reason the Final Fantasies don't get me mad is because if I'm having a hard time beating something, I'll just examine the situation throughly, and go and train for hours on end until I'm uber strong. The games that probably get to me the most though are the older games because to me, they are just simply harder. I think they've eased down on the difficulty a whole bunch on today's games.

For about 2 and a half years in undegraduate studies (mostly in the gen. ed. classes) I did nothing but play my gameboy and pass with higher grades than the people who studied.

I don't really know if it'd work with a DS...I'd suppose the stylus would give you away. I kind of miss those easy A's. =/

OT,

I've never gotten angry enough at a game to actually break anything; they're just games. The most I'll do is usually get upset over something like untimed death, power outage, etc. and just shut the game off and play it a few days later. Anger management will save you a lot of sad controllers, people. <3

I never really got into a "Throw-Controller-At-Priceless-Ming-Vase-That-Is-Family-Heirloom-Which-Inevitably-Breaks-Said-Controller-Along-With-Vase-Which-Pisses-Off-Family-Members" mad (No, my family doesn't own a Priceless Ming Vase...it's just an example, folks), but I have cursed at my games when I got frustrated...that's about it.

I'm pretty much the same way. I'll scream and mumble angrily, but I've never thrown or trashed anything. My little brother though is a different story.

Not at all. Nothing about the PSP itself has really annoyed me so far. And this is a separate topic. You're forbidden to change topic like that. Like I said, I carefully removed the panel, and the PSP's cheap tacky plastic broke.

I hate the horrible shooting games with scary zombie-thingies, I tried to conquor my fear a few days ago with "Prince Of persia: Sands Of Time" But the sand monsters really freaked me out, and I ended up dropping the controlls and screamed. ;_;

I've never got so mad at a game that I've broken something, but instead, when I get mad, I turn off my game without saving and lose all my progress, because I'm an idiot...
The maddest I've got a game is at Kingdom Hearts. Little Mermaid level. With the worst controls and the most annoying music, ever. And then the game glitched, and the dolphin I had to find wasn't there. (even after beating all the heartless, turning off and on again, leaving the level and coming back, and everything else I could think of) After two hours of searching I just shouted,
"ARRRGGGHHH! FOR THE LOVE OF GOD! I CAN'T BE BOTHERED WITH THIS ANYMORE! I GONNA PLAY A GAME THAT DOESN'T HAVE DONALD FUCKING DUCK SCREAMING IN MY EAR EVERY FIVE BLOODY MINUTES!"
Threw the controller down, but I was on my bed, so it didn't matter, and turned off.
To this day, I've never got past that part...

VG anger...
Ugh...I've only ever thrown one controller...and that wasn't because of dying or the boss cheating. No. It was the COPS cheating on Need for Speed. [Thus the reason I harbor hatred for it.] Needless to say, the controller got scratched some, but not broken. [PS2 controllers must be durable, I tells ya.]

...Most of the time I usually scream and curse a blue streak. Prime example: Final Fantasy X-2, my first attempt at the final boss [whose name I dare not mention because it makes me scream curse words]. ...Okay. And the second case of JFA...but that's Friska's fault, as much as I notice that I have a slight fangirlism for Friska...

There's no rule that we have that says people can't change the topic mid-discussion; and if we did have it, we would be the ones telling people. (About the only place it does apply to is the Interrogation room since debates need focus.)

I think one of the things that's always made me more angry than the games themselves are system errors. For instance I was playing F.E.A.R. on my 360, when apparently the next night the 360 decided it no longer wanted to reocognize my save data. I never did finish playing that game either; I had to walk away from the 360 before burnt it--although it did a good job of doing that itself about two months later.

I played Mario KArt DS WiFi, and I just couldn't understand why this guy was like a lap ahead of me, 'cause we were equal and then suddenly he just disappeared and reappeared a short distance behind me. And I watched the 1/2 become 2/2. Oh, the horror. Anyways, I got so mad that I threw my DS out of my room and it hit my sister right in her head.... She didn't get hurt, though.

My DS did, so now I have a Lite :P

Maybe Pokemon. I was so pissed off at the opponent getting critical hits litterally ALL the time I threw my Gameboy on the ground. It didn't break but my Gameboy memory broke and made my game funner. When I turned it on later I got all the Pokemon and they were all level 100!

I was playing Tony Hawk's Underground 2, and I couldn't hit one of the really long, difficult lines, and I got so angry, I threw my controller against the wall and it broke. It was my brother's though so I had to buy him a new one. Sadshoe

I sprained my wrist over playing Ninja Gaiden for the Xbox. I kept losing to this one boss, who was really hard and frustrating, I remember banging my hand on the floor multiple times, and then feeling a searing pain in my wrist.

...Come to think if it, I never did beat that game.

Erm...actually, I tend not to injure the games...rather, I usually wind up hurting myself, usually only on ridiculously frustrating games like Mario Kart. I'm usually not that bad about it...but the absolute worst is when the "Game Over" tune for the game has several very accented beats, in which case I feel compelled to punch myself incredibly hard on every beat.

I don't have problems! Sadshoe

Videogame related injuries is like a topic on it's own XD
When I played Mario Kart DS on my old DS, I snaked a lot. Disconnects from fellow snakers (or dc's in general) is a sign of some anger.

I did make my thumb sore from using that type of play, though. Comeuppance?

I keep playing on my DS during english class (My teacher is very boring) and I have a few examples of things that caught the attention of the class:

I was playing AA case two, and talking to Grossburg. I can't exactly remember what happened on the game, but my teacher just happened to walk past when I exclaimed "OH YOU FAT SONOFFA" (I mumbled it loudly). My English happens to be overweight. But, he didn't notice my DS so I got to keep it.

On the DS related note, on my old DS when ever I failed something I stabbed the screen with my stylus. HARD. It was chipped in seven places(Possibly more). But I got a DS lite for my B-Day!

On the gamecube I would bite or chew the wires and the controller. It's the reason no shop will part exchange it. Thank God for wireless controllers!

I was playing the Adventure of Link on my GB Micro, died a few time, got pissed, and then lobbed the machine upwards...

Hit the cieling and fell back down and crashed on the TV.
Let us dye the world in despair, and bring a dismal end to this fairy tale.
