I kinda freaked when she punched Travis and her hand went through his body then Travis's blood started spraying out. I thought I triggered an instant kill scene (When you do something then and a boss kills you instantly) then Shinobu comes out of nowhere and cuts Jeane's arm in half.

Now, you probably don't think this is scary. But for someone with a massive roach phobia, this can be an extremely traumatizing battle. Especially once the roach starts giving birth, and YOU START GETTING YOUR ASS HANDED TO YOU BY A FAMILY OF GIANT MUTANT COCKROACHES. And once said ass gets handed to you, you can't take relief in the fact the battle's over, because you must face that boss and kill it until it and its forever breeding, pestilent family after are DEAD.
It took me at least six or seven tries and that many weapons/armor upgrades... talk about hell! It's a little funny when I look back, but I still have nightmares of that battle.

I've played too many games with so-called messedup scary monsters in to remember one which is physically scary more than others plus my memory is shot, haha.
I remember being freaked out by the headless Jenova in the Shinra Building many years ago hmm and I still dislike Ghouls in Fallout but all undead like creatures freak me out, I hate them so much!

Also, the first time I played OoT, my first time ever seeign a zelda game, Ganondorf/ Phantom Ganon/ Ganon really fdreaked me out. Especially Ganondorf's transformation to Ganon after the tower collapsed.

Scary Moments in Un-scary games! EarthBound, to me, was just a happy colorful game. To someone at tenue age face Giygas... is disturbing.
I forgot to tell, a boss that scared me when I was little was a behemot in Castlevania for the SNES, he was pure CARCASS! Scary!

Same thing for the final boss of Condemned: Criminal Origins. Monolith can make really spooky games alright.
The Blast Pit creature from Half-Life (whose name I don't remember
) is not really scary, but having to maneuver around it in such a cramped room ups the fear factor by a lot. I always jump on my chair whenever it hits me Then, all of the bosses of Clive Barker's Undying are quite scary. Except the overly pathetic Undying King - incidentally, the final boss of the game.
But this is not the point of this thread, I just had to let some frustration out

The battle against Del Lago (Resident Evil 4) wasn't that terrifying, but the surprise that came if you tried to stand on the bridge and shoot the fishes was.
