I don't' see that as grounds for disappointment. I haven't gotten that far in the translated version of Roy's game, but Eliwood's story seemed more complex.

I liked Golden Sun a lot and I was always looking for info on a sequel from time to time (Golden Sun 2 left too many questions unanswered or half-answered, in my opinion). I remember when I finished the first Golden Sun, and Golden Sun 2 wasn't even out, I was especulating about the history. When Golden Sun 2 finally came out (the joy!) I said "I fucking called it". But now... I can't really "call" anything. I know what everyone else does. It's a sequel and the characters are descendants from the original characters... And I think Alex could appear somewhere too.
Guess I'll have to replay the first two games again.
