hey guys, wasn't sure where to put this, considering it didn't fit in the Ace Attorney fan game criteria in the Present Evidence section. I'm here to present Operation Libra, a game I've been working on for the past 3 months or so. It's an escape-the-room sort of game, a genre that I felt would feel welcome here since this is a community with a fanbase for visual novels. I recently entered this into the Neoflash Summer 2009 International Competition and came in 1st. There is French/Spanish support (thanks to the translators involved in the project). Any comments/questions are welcome, you can download the ROM here. To play this game, you will need either an NDS flashcard or use an emulator (I would suggest no$gba) to play it. Some screenshots: ![]() ![]() Enjoy. |

you mind if i have a look at the source code? edit: okay, i've played through a little bit, seems like you took combined some elements from pw and hotel dusk, but it's a pretty interesting text adventure. |

If you have any questions on how exactly I programmed something (like collision), feel free to ask about that. This is a really simple escape-the-room game, shouldn't be too difficult for any novice to program. It only took me about 3 days to finish the engine, took me a month or so to perfect it though. These sort of games are also pretty open to bugs, believe it or not. |

yeah, the engine looks pretty simple in itself. the thing i hate about side scrollers is the physics in jumping, gravity, collisions, etc. i'm pretty bad at coding though, if i tried to make something like this, it would probably have some huge memory leak or something like that. |

A good tip would be to start off small when you first start programming. The first application I made when I first started as a piano application for the Nintendo DS. Reading up on how to better organize your code/make your own code more organized is always good as well. |

Operation Libra BETA v1.5 is now out. You can download it here. Revision 5 includes:
Fixed chair angle in bedroom (bitmap art showed chair at a different angle than the vector art) Added French/Spanish support (switch your DS language settings to access them) I doubt I will continue development on this project, outside of fixing the occasional glitch if found. Have fun guys ^^ |
