The wii shop channel has launched a new... thing called the Connection Ambassador Programme (in europe.) Basically, if you have a friend who has a wii and an internet connection, but doesn't know how to connect them, you can help them out. Then you both exchange friend codes, and input them in the wii shop channel. Then you get 500 wii points. For free. Also, he you get 10 people, you get free first party NES games for life. Get 20, and you get free first party NES, SNES and N64 games for life. I am drunk with the aspect of free games. Believe me. Anyway, I just wanna hear what you think and hope and pray this is alright with people. (First real topic) But that's irrelevant. |

Why the hell am I not in Europe right now!?!?!? I need a Nintendo of South America, and quick. This "Ambassador Programme" seems extremely convenient. If I knew this, I wouldn't have helped so many friends with their Wi-Fi. I would have charged them a 500 Wii Points card! XD |

Err, how is the first party helping the second? If anything I would assume the reward system would be extra red tape and make it more obtrusive to get into WiiShop, particularly with the code exchange. Don't get me wrong, I'm always up for free Nintendo games. But I think Nintendo is the only winner in this deal. |

So the only winners are nintendo and the ‘ambassador‘ |

So the only winners are nintendo and the ‘ambassador‘ We have this in Australia too, and I'm pretty sure it says that both people get 500 Wii points. My problem is, who has 10 friends with a Wii that they haven't connected to the internet yet, let alone 20? |

Also, you're forgetting it's free games and points, and you neither party loses anything. Also, how does Nintendo win by getting another guy into the Wii-Fi? Sells? The helped person would probably spend less than what Nintendo pays the ambassador. |

It gets more people to purchase Wii's if their friends are saying "Get one! I'll hook you up to wifi and we can game together! It'll be awesome! :D", and the ambassador programme offer will encourage those friends to say that. The finances from more console sales will outweigh that lost by Wii Shop Points with this offer. |

The helped person would probably spend less than what Nintendo pays the ambassador. Firstly, the helped person gets hooked up to Wi-Fi, discovers all the retro games, Internet channel, a better Photo channel (if needed), Nintendo channel and a hell lot of Wii System updates (Sd-card menu etc.) Nintedo seems to be relying on all the helped persons starting to buy Wii points and buying stuff from Shop Channel. When I first heard about this i was like :p But when I discovered that I know actually 5 or more people who have Wiis but not connected, I might as well as score some Wii points. -SS |
