Forgive the pun, in a good mood since CR is back.

Well I've started playing what some call "2D Minecraft" which I guess is ok for a brief comparison but it's far more than that really.

Since I bought it it has consumed too much of my life just digging and digging and building my little mountain fort :garyuu: Time well spent.

So a topic for discussion of this wonderful little game available on Steam relatively cheaply.

Also please lets not have Anti-Terraria/Minecraft comments, both games are good.

I just bought this game; it's awesome and a great way to pass the time as well. I haven't done any adventuring yet - I'm still working on finishing my house. It already has 3 floors and 5 or 6 rooms. Once that's done, I'm going digging for more ore! =D

Geez man you start big XD
My first house was just a little shack to keep zombies away.

My friend went to the far side of the map and flooded the world, including the dungeon by hacking through the ocean wall XP.

Yeah, I decided I'd get the house done and out of the way because it was just so tedious. I'm going to finish it now. Just lemme open the laptop and I'll find out my Steam name. I think it's Veritas. I've been playing Portal, Terraia and Portal 2 recently. Just so you know.

Man doubt my computer is good enough to handle games like Portal and Portal 2 but I made a more permanent residence in this big cavern that's connected to the surface. Building myself a nice little mountain for for (almost) all my NPCs to live in.

Making a house inside a cave? That's actually quite clever. I never thought of that. And yeah, my Steam name's Veritas. The Steam URL's something like VeritasOrbis though.

Meant most of the roof and walls were done already XD
Took forever to knock out all the dirt wall in the place though.
Really happy with how it turned out.
Discovered the cave after a random dig when I decided to tunnel to the surface to find out where I was.

Does the game update and add new content?

Yeah, apparently. I haven't been around long enough to see it myself but I have heard about it. Delivers new items and weapons as well as any bug fixes.

I'll get it soon. I've seen some videos of it. It looks pretty badass. Like a 2D version of (what Notch says) the Advemture update will be.

Adventure Update?

Enderman/Farlander: a new mob that is very mysterious(and holy shit 34 has gotten ahold of Enderman already), advanced NPC villages (no more *slightly* derpy Millienare), sprinting (damn useful. Basic, but useful), new blocks, ravines, strongholds, incredibly advanced puzzle-style dungeons, bosses, , universal mod support (theoretically, mods anywhere from Alpha to Beta 1.8 will work), and LEVELING UP.

Not sure how minecraft is going to do it Terraria has a form of levelling.
You get different Tiers of equipment and find items that are the only way to improve your health and mana.

Well, Minecraft will have experience points, and mobs will get tougher per day. So if you're one of those "Mine by day, craft, smelt, and sleep by night" kinda people, you're screwed. But i you're a "Get leather and meat in day, KILL ALL NIGHT!" person, no problem.
And on Youtube, Utorak is doing a Terraria LP. It's pretty cool.

It's officially stated as "seamlessly integrated into the Minecraft game, with no new modes added, save for realistic"
With the optional realistic (hungry and thirsty and tired) and the wall-walking Slenderman-based mob, I'm totally gonna die at least once a day.
