Lets look at it another way, as though you're on Nintendo's team deciding who should be in and who should not. Who can you 'afford' not to return? Unlike Roy, Mewtwo, Ice Climbers, and Ness who have one hit title then fall off the face of the planet, Ganondorf has been a major returning character in the LoZ franchise. I honestly think he's here to stay like Bowser.

Sheik, granted, is much more questionable. And the designers have said that they intend to redesign many of the characters... But, I can't imagine Twilight Princess Zelda transforming into Wind Waker Tetra. Granted, it could just be filled with a more generic Down-B move.

But, again, it's obvious that OoT hasn't been forgotten either, we've already got the (highly jumbled) Ocarina Battle Music.

... I honestly don't know why I'm arguing this. I never play as either, and I'm not a huge fan of the Legend of Zelda series.

Now we have a new item; from the Mother/Earthbound series, the Franklin Badge. You pick it up and put it on your chest (or in Kirby's case, the forehead) and it gives you complete immunity from projectiles for a limited time.

I see this as a good advantage for the more hand-to-hand characters like Ike, D.K. and Captain Falcon, who lack projectile attacks.

It reflect the projectile back at the shooter, think of it as fox/falco's down b move but in an item.

Now I'm not expert on the Earthbond/Mother series, but what game does the Franklin Badge come from?

I don't know if it's in Earthbound 0 / Mother 1, but I know it's in Earthbound and Mother 3.

It's also fascinating that the item appears not to block the hands. I anticipate this being a mechanic that'll appear more then once.

It's been in all of them.

Also I hope this means we'll see at least one Mother 3 playable character.

Only problem with that is Nintendo seems real anal for some wierd reason to keep mother a japanese exclusive, but maybe SSBB and a Mother 3 character could get the Mother series over here, kinda like Marth and Roy from FE did.

New scans of famitsu show some new pics of brawl, most of them are stuff we already seen but there are some cool pics in here.

http://true-gaming.net/home/?p=337

The coolest one is kind of blurry, but on the last page of the SSBB section it shows off more of the story, and we see what looks like Kirby in a cave jumping over a spike pit. Also there is another shot of wario's down-a attack (where he goes straight down head first)

Nothing too new or exciting in the Super Smash Bros Brawl pics, but the Super Mario Galaxy ones look amazing.

I haven't seen the SSBB screenshots in Famitsu issue yet, though I did see the Super Mario Galaxy screens (Rosetta seems very odd...do I sense a predictible "She's really the villain" type plot twist? =P)

While we are on the subject of SSBB though, I wanted to post these Custom Sprite stages I made. If you want to use them, use them all you want.

We saw it coming, but it's still the most interesting news yet.

I really don't think anyone could've seen this coming. At the very least, certainly not in the original, almost genius way it way it has been implemented. I wonder, though, just how the Pokémon Trainer will get around on stages like DK's.

I wonder what the Final Smash will be.

"GO! ARCEUS!"

>_>

at this point, they can ditch all te clone characters including Marth AND Roy.

Ditch te entire cast.

Just have Pokemon.

I'm guessing the FS will be the strongest attack that the Pokémon is currently out can learn; Hydro Cannon for Squirtle, Frenzy Plant for Ivysaur and Burn Blast for Charizard. Or maybe it'll be a team attack of all three at once.

I think "Pokemon Trainer" sounds really dumb. They should call him Ash or Red (Like HH said). At first I was VERY disapointed. We already have PLAYABLE POKEMON, so why just make a trainer. I now feel as long as they don't have Pokemon clones (even though Pichu is my second favorite Pokemon) I'll be happy with it. =]

...Well, atleast my cousin will be happy. He loves Charizard...He'll probably have some sort of floating platform to keep him level with the Pokemon he's controlling...Which is how he'll probably get around on scrolling stages. Although personally, I would've prefered Pokemon Collesiums trainer. Much cooler lookin.

...And what about Adventure mode?

(You'll see each character under the pressure of they're own personal history)

...This is some Random Pokemon Trainer plucked out of and Average Joes Firered version...Or leafgreen. I mean, he beats Team rocket and all, but, heck, I don't see any hint of Angst there...

...Also, in other news, the Fanshipping community for SSB moves fast. I just saw a Pit/Ike. *Wince* Next thing you know it'll be Pokemon Trainer/Palutena or something wierd like that....

Stamina just sounds weird. . i'm guess it's how many times your can do a attack i'm guessing.
Now, I wonder if Red can use potions on his Pokemon or can they evolve during battle? That would make Red in my top fav list.

I just want the damn Solid Snake annoucment!!!

Last week updates were nasty, so they gotta do something big this week.

You play as the Pokemon, unfortunately. You switch between them using B + Down, so it's a Zelda/Shiek type character, only with 3 transformations.

Still, it would have been pretty sweet to play as the actual trainer.

If they keep his name as Pokemon Trainer, I am going to rip the faces of EVERY LIVING HUMAN ON THE PLANET...

...

But then again, sticking with that name is VERY likely.

The -real- protagonists of Pokemon have always been anonymous ciphers. Canonized characters such as Ash or Blue are simply there for merchandising purposes and have no real bearing on the true spirit of the Pokemon franchise, as much as they've become the figureheads.

The alternate costumes will probably be other trainers, so it would make no sense to call him Ash/Red.

I have a neat idea for Trainer. You know how you can change your trainer's appearance in Pokemon Battle Revolution? I was thinking you could import your trainer as a fifth costume or something.

Well, for alternative costumes, there will be either

Alternate Color Schemes

Different Generational trainers(Which I doubt will happen)

And possibly female characters.

Today's update is an assist trophy named Devil, a character from Devil World, an NES game never released in the US. He has the power to shove the entire stage offscreen in whatever direction he points, which is a pretty big hastle in a game where going off-screen means you lose.
