I always liked To Zanarkand, but the end theme to that game blows it--and everything else--out of the water. I've never been that big of an Uematsu fan, but this song is just gorgeous, especially played by the full orchestra. If there's any videogame track I would ever recommend to a non-gamer to introduce them to the fact that VG music can be more than bleeps and bloops, it's this one.

Oh yes! Yes! ...I'm not going to say yes a third time because it might be mistaken for the "fake orgasm in a deli" ... It's been so long since I've heard that, and it STILL brings tears to my eyes. I swear I've re-beaten that game three times just to hear that.

OMG! I totally agree with you Funk! This is definitely one of the best VG songs ever, and it being apart of my favorite game of the Final Fantasy series just made it more awesome! I listen to this song a lot on my playlist (got the whole track from http://www.bluelaguna.net/music/ffx/mp3s.php) and it still brings a tear to my eye whenever I hear it. Definitely one of the better songs that Nobou has composed imo.

I love it too! One of the best ending themes ever!

Speaking of orchestrated FF music, I was able to attend the Dear Friends concert in Atlanta two years ago. It was amazing. They didn't perform the FFX ending theme, though, which I would have loved to hear.

I can't remember it I beat the darn game twice and can't remember! I'll have to check it when I get back to England.

Actually, I liked 9's music better. I don't like the singer who did Suteki Da Ne (she also did a rendition of Aeris' theme from FFVII which is painful to listen to). And 9's was so woven into the story that by the time it played in the ending, I was in tears ;_;.

As far as X's music goes, I like the Faith song better. Especially when sung by Yuna, it sounds kinda porny but it's still really neat.

@Rev: Dang. You are just like me. Especially the last one. If I don't count the FMV soundtracks, the last one would probably be my favorite. Best remix of the main theme song of the game if you ask me.

I love most FF music (4, in particular, may have the distinction of being the only game I've played where every track was godly), but I think that other series deserve some recognition as well!

Case in point, The King of Fighters. Every game (with the exception of '02 and '01) has an arranged soundtrack, and they're awesome if you're a fan of classic rock (especially Pink Floyd, as a few of the tracks I've heard sound very much inspired by them). The best track I've heard out of any of them is this one:

Tears, from KOF '99. It's Kyo's theme for that game, and my god does it kick ass. That being said, check out the other arranged soundtracks as well.

That song is okay. "Those Who Come Closer" is better, though. And "Sprouting". And "To the End of the Abyss". And "Someday the Dream will End". And....well, there are many better ones. But that is a great song, though.

I argee, it is a beautiful piece, but I do likeother songs in the ff series better.
Like, Fisherman's Horizon, Breezy and Balamb Garden from FFVIII, I have really grown to love these tunes.
And I ahve to argee with Croik up there too, The FFIX soundtrack was amazin'. I couldn'tpick a fave song from it, as there are too many, though You're Nott Alone and Msytery Sword cstand out to me. <3
