Best. game. ever.

Well, 7th best game on DS, at least.

Blows the majority of the Zelda series out of water, only Majora's Mask, Phantom Hourglass and Wind Waker manage to hold a candle to it.

The game is surprisingly dark, it's essentially about the evils of capitalism. Your main goal is to buy a 'stairway to heaven'. Everyone you meet only cares about the rupees, it's a rather haunting reflection of modern society really.

Oh, and it's never coming to America. :D

Tingle is a hated character in America, NoA decided it wasn't a good financial move to release the game in NA. All due to the results of a poll, I believe.

If you think Tingle acts like that, you ain't seen nothing... there's a bridge builder in the game that an obvious parody of Hard Gay! Creases me up every time I ask him to do something... mind you Tingle is almost as bad, you see him slip major treasures into his clothes... down the back side if you get my meaning :p

Playing this on and off at the moment when I get the chance, currently just about to launch into the fourth area...

Well, if it's not coming to North American shores, than it's probably not worth the time anyways.

Letting character bias get in the way of enjoying one of the most original and fun things Nintendo has ever done, for the lose. :(

Go play Majora's Mask, first game he appears in... like the hero "Link", there appears to be different "Tingle"s across the ages...

To put it simply, in the other Zelda games he's a CROOK! :karma:
In this game, he's the hero but still a crook

Ummmmmm, isn't it not a spin of if its based on the normal character, eg. this is a spin off cause tingle who is a side character in LoZ, is now the main character.....

Post subject:  Re: Freshly Picked: Tingle's Rosy Rupee Land

This is a spin-off cause the genre is different.
Like Mario Kart counts as a spinoff too (although you can play as Mario).

No, it's a spin-off when it's not like the rest of the games, in this case a dungeon crawler, and instead is a shooting range-like game. Tingle's Rosy Rupee Land can be considered a spin-off because of what you mentioned, though.

Tingle's Rosy Rupee Land actually plays like the Zelda games for the most part. Go into dungeon, solve puzzles, kill boss.

But isn't it more like "let other creatures beat the boss" kinda game? I haven't played it yet, but I've understood that Tingle uses other characters to kill enemies.

I'm going to buy this sometime. Maybe after I have bought and beaten Phantom Hourglass. (I'm loving the fact that this is EuroJapan only. :edgy: )

By the way, Tingle is not gay. He just wants to be a fairy. (And Galactica is not gay either).

The opening clears up Tingle's sexuality. He wants him some woman.

And yes, for the most part you use a body guard to kill things, although you can try fighting yourself(You will die, however, if you go it alone).

Bosses are mostly a solo affair. Your bodyguards don't do anything against the bosses. Unless the boss sends out minions, which your bodyguard can clear away.

My local magazine (Official Nintendo Magazine UK) said that it was not as good as it looked, but then I was listening to you guys so I took a deep breath and bought it yesterday. Clearly, you were all right! It can get a bit hard sometimes but its still great anyway!

My biggest gripe is the save system.

Apart from that, I think the devs achieved exactly what they wanted from this game.

It gets a low 8 from me. :D

I would play a Navi game...

I can picture it now, the purpose of the game is to guide juvenile delinquents onto the path of righteousness. And half-way through the game you meet, Gackt. Who you must help save Hyrule from the wrath of Vaati.

Fuck yes, you are the best game ever.
