Ah, good ol' half-sarcastic, half-serious GotA. That's what I like about you! Gonna play this as well. After being disappointed by the overhyped Call of Duty 2 and the even worse Call of Duty 3, it's nice to see Call of Duty evolve beyond the battlefields of WWII. |

I don't know...this installment of CoD is kind of over-hyped. What makes it stand out than most other FPS? |

This game is PHENOMENAL. I don't even like CoD series...but this one takes place in Modern times and just surprised the hell out of me. Single-Player was short but amazingly done, the action was intense, the story was engaging and the atmosphere was incredible. Trust me if you haven't gotten into the Cod series still give this game a go. |

Eh... it doesn't interest me much at all. Which is odd, because I love first person shooters. |

It was one of the first WWII shooters to deliver the most realistic, up-close-and-personal, cinematic WWII FPS experience ever. The AI may not be impressive compared to games nowadays but it almost made you feel like you were in a real battle, not mindlessly gunning down drone after drone. It was also the first WWII shooters where you fought alongside a team of competent, almost like-like AIs. The game actually made you care about what happened to them. |

This game is amazing I had no intentions of picking this up since everyone was up in arms over it's greatness and it didn't even come out. Then the beta came out and I was hooked, gotta play a quick round before I head out to work now. |

Oh, and what does a change in time period have to do with anything? Throwing in a few gimmicky 'modern tools' is about as fresh as Roster Updates in EA's various sports titles. It still plays exactly like the first 2 installments. I mean for fuck's sake, we still don't vehicular combat in Multiplayer, something which we had in 1998 with Starseige Tribes. |

I wish they would bring back the vehicle combat from United Offensive's multiplayer. Fun times those were and they would be even better on a new gen system like the 360 or PS3. |

Most are fucking terrible, Halo is actually a solid series. Sure, the campaign is abysmal(Though still above average) but the multiplayer is almost unrivalled, the only modern shootan that outdoes(Multiplayer-wise) it is Team Fortress 2. And this is coming from someone who despises Halo with every fibre of his being. And Medal of Honour wasn't always terrible, Frontline was the best WWII FPS until Call of Duty came along. |

I hate Frontline because every copy of it I bought that I tried to load onto my PC couldn't load. Everytime I tried to install it, it simply wouldn't install. Thus, I couldn't play it and I doubt I'll ever get a chance to. I'm even less inclined to play it now that I've been spoiled by CoD. |

I liked Rising Sun a whole lot out of the MoH series, that about it. Everything else is a hit and serious miss. I can't really get into Team Fortress 2, it's ok but I rather play CoD4 of Halo 3 if giving the choice. Guess I gotta get with a good group of people, it's kinda just kinda boring. |

I'm gonna pretend you didn't saying Rising Sun ok EDIT: Oh wait, Frontline? I was thinking of Allied Assault. In any case, Frontline isn't much better than the rest of the series. |

I suppose some people aren't bothered by it though. |

The only real fault of the online play is the fact that it hasn't evolved at all since CoD2. Fixed that for you. :) |

Call of Duty 3 is fine on Xbox 360. It has a negative reception more for other reasons than the game itself. One being another developer, which is something nagged on constantly. Second is it's ports. The PS2/Xbox/Wii versions had the same campaign levels, but worse graphics. There also mysteriously was no PC release (which of course REALLY ticks off diehard shootan fanboys). Just get the 360 ones of CoD2/CoD3/CoD4. All are solid on that platform, and will do split-screen. No bots though. Interestingly... I haven't tried it with CoD2 or CoD3. But in CoD4 on 360 (dunno about PS3) you can begin a split-screen match with no opponents. Yes, that's right. You'll be entirely alone on the battlefield. So there isn't a real "battle" at all. |
