It's too bad I didn't get to play this on my N64 back then. I do have the luxuary however to play it off of Virtual Console. As for the sequel I don't have it yet. What did you think of the games? |

Terrible game, even more of a half-arsed cash-in than Super Mario RPG. Avoid at all costs. |

Gears, we know that you'll always be wrong. Live with it. It's fun. And great. But it if you like RPGs. |

Why would he buy if it he liked RPGs? It doesn't resemble an RPG in the slightest, game makers these days have got the idea that if you through in some stats and level system, your game suddenly becomes an in-depth Role Playing Game. |

Then I guess that's the definition of an RPG these days. But, hey, what are you gonna do about it? |

That's not the definition of RPGs, though. Not as long as real role playing games are still being made. |

Paper Mario is a puzzle-platformer. |

Hmm let's see... you have turn based battles, you level up, you acquire new skills either by getting better or buying them, you can talk to people to solve puzzles, there are plenty of side quests, you have a variety of different sidekicks helping you with their own skills... no, nothing like an RPG at all here! :p Okay you could call the structure "RPG lite" if you want. The simple matter is that both games are brilliant, fun to play and try to beat, then if you want try to find everything in the game (certain pieces, all the cooking recipes etc). Plus they have a very black, dry line in self deprecating humour... the games take the piss out of many things, including the Mario series itself at times heh... |

I really didn't like them much, personally. The battle system irritated me, and the gameplay just felt clumsy. The goomba sidekick in the first one terrified me. Goomba + hair = .... Though the character designs in general were pretty cute, I must say. |

The thing that was better than most turn-based RPGs was that you can actually do stuff instead of waiting until everything's done doing their stuff. |

Sweet games unlike Super Paper Mario. Nothing was wrong with The original two games, so there was no reason to change it. Also Gears, Super Mario RPG was only released in North America and Japan. How did you even get an opportunity to play the wonderful masterpiece known as Super Mario RPG? |

I loved these games and owned both of them. I know the new one is nothing like the first two, but I'd still like to play it despite the different elements and what not. I'm a fan of the series. Gotta say though too that some of the soundtracks from these games are just beautiful. |

That was mainly an attempt to get under his skin and stick up for the Paper Mario series. I, too, have found myself agreeing with him on several instances. |

I played Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year-Door on GC, and I think it's the platform's best game after the Zeldas and SSBM. It's fresh traditional, serious and funny, hilarious and fantastic. What's your favourite chapter, guys? Mine is 6 (then 3). |

Chapters 3, 4, 6, and 8 for all games. Scary coincidence, eh? Although, for Super Paper Mario I would add Chapter 7 to my list. |

I consider all the Mario RPG's (SMRPG, PM, PM:TYD, ML:SSS, ML:PiT) a part of the same series. They resemble each other more than 2 Final Fantasy games :) |

I've only played the 1000-Year Door one. It's all right. I mean, I wouldn't call it one of my absolute most favorite games ever, but I like to play it every now and again. It's just sort of charming, in a way. Unlike the Sunshine game, which made me want to throw a brick through my television. |

I happen to like the games very much. Especially, The Thousand-Year Door. I don't think it's it's really for hard core gamers, though. |

The pair of them are great, Paper Mario N64 was the first ever game I completed. And TTYD gave you more controls over your partners, which I liked a lot. Buy them. Now. Right now. |

That's about the third or fourth time you've supposedly typed up an argument only to delete it, citing that you don't have time for this. ;) Seems to me that you actually don't have anything better than do, and this is just a fruitless attempt at making your life seem less bland. I have to say GotA that I find your reasons against Paper Mario laughable. So it's not a true RPG, doesn't alter the fact that most RPG's have gotten crap now. There, I said it. It's mostly just random kids with spiky hair who fight generic monsters. People are tired of those, which is why KotOR was so well liked; it did things differently and it actually had an interesting storyline. In other words, I think story and fun > Gameplay mechanics, and I'm sure a lot of people would be happier if you didn't throw your elitist opinions at us who like the game. Also on a side note, who are you to tell us how we should spell 'bawww', you're not the queen of the internet. |

Jibo, thats why I said most, there are some good RPG's out there, but a lot are now generic. Also, I've been around the internet for at least 4 years now, and I know people with the same opinion. Maybe most was the wrong word. Also, I am not Nego. At least I think I'm not him. Who can say. |
