Nintendo is giving a big middle finger to Hard-core and Veteran Gamers by focusing on "casual" gamers who can't even work
the wii. "How do you start the game?" Casual. Ha. Nintendo is focusing on People who are stupid, and have never played a videogame. Let's not make Mario. No. We need "Brain Age" and "MyWord coach" and market it to whiny 5 year old kids who do not know how to work it, but Carnival Games is teh 1337. I am furious with Nintendo as it's DS and Wii are TOO popular.
Video-Games are WAY TOO MAINSTREAM. Instead of Great RPG'S, We have "Disney: Princess Adventures". Halo is NOT the greatest game ever. Yes, this is coming from a near 13 year old boy, but I miss When Smash Bros. Wasn't HUGELY popular.
What are your thoughts?

I love the Wii, it's incredible and getting more people into gaming. It has it's fair share of hard games...Resident Evil 4 and Super Mario Strikers Charged. It's also making gaming healthier, with Wii Sports and Wii Fit. (Oh yeah, really the cause of cancer.) Super Mario Galaxy is awesome, as is Resident Evil 4. Super Smash Bros Brawl will be fantastic, as we all know and the Virtural Console and Miis add a whole new factor to it. We even have Okami being remade for it.
I dispise the PS3 and Xbox 360. Halo is made for ten year old kids who love to blow stuff up. And the PS3 focuses on graphics, which is not the only thing that counts in a game.
Sony's days in the sun are over.

I find the Wii a toy(especially a nostalgia-inducing one), but it's a toy that I have fun with. I enjoy it for it's backwards compatibillity. I enjoy it for keeping me entertained with it's motions(I'm not really fond of button mashing really). I enjoy it.

The wii is also a source for great games. Look at Super Paper Mario, look at the Trauma Center, and especially look at Super Mario Galaxy, the up-coming SSMB, even Wii sports. If nintendo wants to make a wider appealing console and many of the games are good, why is it cancer, or even a bad thing?

You're looking too much at the negative aspect of the Wii. Trying looking at the lighter side and you'll see that there's more to it than meets the eye.Also, it's not a matter of appealing to the fans. It's all about money. If Nintendo can appeal to a wider audience and as a result rake in more cash, they're going to target as many people as they can. That's how it has been and always will be. Why don't you go play some Grand Theft Auto and act like the whiny, immature pest that you are?

* You'd best be joking, girly... RE4 is an incredibly easy game, as all Third Person Shooters are. The only difficult thing Nintendo has put out, is F Zero GX, and Sega had a large part in that.

I was actually looking back on this a while ago. Gamecube had Super Smash Brothers Melee and Harvest Moon, PS2 had Okami, PS1 had all the DECENT Spyro, and 64 had some good games too. But Wii doesn't really have too much to show, I mean out of hundreds of games all it really has that's memorable in my book is Twilight Princess and Smooth Moves, both weren't mind blowing to me either.
I do like DS, I need to be able to take this crap with me. How else would I get my Hotel Dusk, Phoenix, and Pokemans fix?

I expected the Wii to be like that, I expected the casual bullshit to be there in droves, but I also expected the third parties to swarm and make metric tonnes of good games for it. That hasn't happened, because third party titles are still selling like shit on Wii(inb4fucktardbringsupRE4). All in all, it's going to be Gamecube, with a lot less of the high quality Nintendo titles and a lot more casual, remote swinging anal seepage.

But getting back on the subject, the same could be said for the Wii. I bought one, beat Zelda, then never touched it again for months because there was nothing but ports and minigames coming out. I am very disappointed with my purchase. At least a few of the DS mini-games are fun (brain training games notwithstanding), whereas shovelware like Raving Rabbids is the cancer that is killing gaming. I've never liked a 3D Mario game, so Galaxy fails to interest me. The only thing still going for the system is Brawl, which I will be playing with a GameCube controller thus defeating the point of the Wiimote (and consequently the Wii) entirely.
I'd say Nintendo really screwed their audience over, but then again a lot of their core audience consists of Apple-style fanboys that will change their lifestyle based on what Nintendo does.

My problem with the PS3 is that most of the awesome games it has are not out yet. It's going to have some great games, but right now there's nothing out there to warrant the system's price tag.
