The controls on Super Circuit drove me insane but the courses were full of win. I like the Wii course with the giant mushrooms. Playing that level at a demo station is what made me first want to buy that game. |

I agree. Super Circuit could have been done better control wise. I think that's the only game I never beat 100%... aside from the original which I didn't own. The mushroom one was fun. I remember the first time playing it and I got inked. I almost fell at one part, but half of my kart landed on the edge of a mushroom. I was EXTREMELY lucky. |

Ah, I get you now. Without being hit with items every 10 seconds, I can see it being kinda easy. Half the reason Koopa Cape is my favourite (new) track is the music, it never fails to make me smile ^_^ I sing along to it baaadly XD ... On a kinda different note, I came across someone today online with a 3 star rank, with 9300 or so points, he was bloody awesome @_@; Did he get bombarded with items? No. Do I get bombarded with items in the 10 seconds I was ahead of him? What do you think? -_-' I did beat him twice though :D |

You know.... I have yet to try the Wi-Fi racing. I should really give it a shot so I can attempt to make a name for myself. At least people can't cheat with snaking like they did on the DS. I used to think I was so good because I would beat hard level computers on the most difficult setting possible, then I go Wi-Fi and I get my butt handed to me. D: Btw, great job Fooly!!! You totally rock for doing that! I'd probably lose against you the way I am right now! XD You know, I should check about downloading the soundtrack for this game. I do like the music on it after all. |

I've had SNES Rainbow Road music stuck in my head for more than an hour now. XD Oh, snaking was fixed? THANK GOD. I might even play some online now. ^_^ When I get a friend code, I hope you'll play against me, Kate. |

Aww Dully, I wouldn't say I'm that great ^_^; Using the GC controller helped, hehe <3 Sure Ami, I'd love to race against you ^_^ Send me a PM when you get your Friend Code. I'll race ya as well Dully, if you want :D |

Sweet! Well, whenever I get my Wii race code, I'll PM you both if I can remember or post it on here! Trust me Ami, I don't think I'm that great either. I'll use the Wii wheel for fun, but on the harder modes, I catch myself using the Gamecube controller because it's easier. I feel like I'm cheating when I do that though... |

I understand what you're saying Dully, I use the GC controller more often than anything else. When I go online, and see that the people I'm up against are all using the wheel, I feel like I'm taking the easy option O_o; The times I've come 1st, and the rest have used the wheel..... It can be embarassing, especially when your points are 2000-ish higher than everyone elses XD ... Ok, using the GC controller IS the easy option, but if you want to have some good couple hours playing, constantly turning & flicking.. doesn't half make your arms ache :P |

True. I can race a lot longer using the Gamecube controller. The only thing I hated is they moved the item button from X to L. To me, X was a lot more convientent. |

I have no moral conflict by playing with the controls that best suit me. If the game was designed to be comfortable to all sorts of players, that's just how it is. Yeah, I COMPLETELY hate the new item button. It feels so wrong. T_T |

| Post subject: | Re: Mario Kart Wii |
I hated using the L button in Super Circuit too, but then again, the GBA didn't have lots of buttons like the DS. It took me a while to find the item button too when I first did the Gamecube controller. I was running into walls at the beginning because it kept making me look behind me. That's what I get for only reading the manual one time, completely overlooking the controls for Gamecube thinking they would be the same as they were for the Gamecube. I mean c'mon, at least SSBB had the same Gamecube control scheme between the two consoles. I would think Mario Kart would have followed suit. |

Here comes my next issue with Mario Kart Wii: The inability to customize ANYTHING. That is ESPECIALLY frustrating when it comes to the control scheme. I'm not the biggest Brawl fan in the cosmos, but I worship the amount of preferences you can mess around with. |

The DS controls killed my thumb, I had a go on it a couple of days ago & forgot how painful it was :o I personally prefer using the L button on the GC controller for items. It can be confusing if you've played MKWii with the wheel for a while, switch to GC controller, I forgot how to drift and use items XD |

...For the first Godot-knows-how-many races, I kept picking "automatic" because I assumed, like a normal human being, that they were talking about whether you had to shift gears or not, and missed the fine print that caused many an obscenity to stumble from my mouth. "What the $#%$#^%$@^% WHY CAN'T I HOP OR DRIFT?! Screw you, Nintendo!" |

I think I find automatic harder to control than manual, and I forget that no matter how long I turn, I don't get a boost. I love hopping <3 ..... Spoiler: Complete random MKWii photos O_o; |

O_o I've not seen that before. Maybe someones been at photoshop~ That, or someone edit-raped baby Daisy. As cute as baby Daisy is, I feel like it was a "Well, we have baby Peach, lets put in a baby Daisy to even it out" sort of situation XP I don't want to see any more baby characters now, personally. Although, come to think of it, "baby" Yoshi has been a character for a long time, why hasn't he been given a chance? YOSHI PREJUDICE. |

I agree. They should've drawn the line at the Baby Mario Bros. (first seen in SMW2). These baby characters are to SMB as the "-alities" is to classic Mortal Kombat. |

Hehe ok XD Well, the advice I've (mostly) followed is: Use Dry Bowser (or any heavy character really) Use the Torpedo bike or the Aero Glider kart. Drive using Automatic (no boost, no hopping) Keep on the road, don't cross any grass/dirt for a shortcut. Keep an item behind you to protect you from red shells etc And of course get 60 points (full marks) :P ... I think that's it. It's helped me tremendously. Although some of the courses have still been an absolute pain in the arse, I've still got 3 star rank in the end 8D http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=f5roeyYBbQU - That's the link that helped me (eventually XDD) If you've unlocked the medium kart the "B Dasher MK 2" , that's also quite useful. Now, everyone can be a 3 star rank >8D Dammit if you guys become better drivers than me, I'll be like oh noes. XD |

I got this game yesterday! It's been a lot of fun so far. Right now I've only taken a run through each of the Grand Prixs to unlock all the stages and then raced with my friends on VS mode. I don't like the Wii Wheel too much, but the Wiimote-Nunchuck set up works well for me. I don't know if I'll actually have the determination to practice and get good at this, but I'm enjoying it right now anyway! I guess I'll have to do SOME practicing if I'm going to unlock all the characters. And I see what you all mean about the items. O.o |

Has anyone found, that after playing 150cc/mirror cups, that when you play 50cc again, it's actually kinda easy? Maybe it's because you get used to the hardness of 150cc, and it improves your skill, so you bring that skill to 50cc? O_o And... Is anyone working towards unlocking the expert ghost datas in Time Trial? How do you know which ones you've done? Sometimes it's sorta hard to tell from watching the replay. Imma trying to unlock at least 24 (or whatever it is) to unlock [SPOILER???]Mii Outfit B[END SPOILER] |

I guess the CPU karts are slower and less skilled? I haven't worked on time trials yet - still trying to unlock everything in 150cc mirror and it's taking awhile since I only get to play about every other weekend. How do you get Rosalina without having a Super Mario Galaxy file? |

It might be clearing a certain number of cups, or doing well enough in general. You can unlock some karts/characters through certain numbers of online wins rather than just timetrial (I've gotten a couple like that, one being Toadette). |

Hey, anyone wanna play, I live in england so we may not get to play all the time if your'e american (time difference) but if you feel like it then PM your friend code and i'll try to get mine back to ya! (I feel stupid playing with wii wheel, but its what i'm used to and hey, if it got me a 2-star ranking, then yeah, it works for me! Doesnt tire my arms out...guess everyone is different, lol.) Hey, I see what you guys are getting at with the babies thing. I think a better candidate for a new character other than baby daisy (who is SUPER CUTE btw) would be Toadsworth, E.gadd or Paratroopa. Any of these I would love~ |
