If you haven't guessed already, I have a few questions about taking my Nintendo DS on a flight with me that I have take soon. I have never flown before (not the traveler type) and I must admit, I'm freakin' nervous about it. If I had my DS, I think I would be able to handle the trip without a panic attack. However, The only things I'll be taking with me is a small shoulder bag and a cat carrier and hopefully my DS in my pocket. Because of the cat carrier, I don't get to have a suitcase. So, maybe a frequent flyer or someone who has flown recently on here can help me out, It would be super appericated!

Can I take my Nintendo DS on the plane with me?
If so, Can I carry it in a small carry case I have for it?
Can I used it during the flight? (No Wi-Fi, of course)
Are there any Restrictions I should know about?
Any other things that I might need to know in this kinda area?

Also, if you think I was making an "Snakes on a Plane" joke with title, you have spent too much time on the internet.

Thank You For Your Time :larry2:

-Yeah you can take your DS on a plane.
-You can carry it in a small case (I'm not sure if that'll count as your one carry on bag only though...if they still only allow one carry on baggage still).
-You can play to your heart's content during the flight.
-I think the only "restriction" is that you can't play during take off...supposedly hand held electronic devices can mess with the on board flight computers and stuff.

Thanks for the info, it really helps me out. I don't think I have any problems with the flight then. :larry2:

I haven't flown in a year or two, but they don't seem to mind DSs. I brought it in my backpack on the plane, so I think a small baggie'd be okay.

It depends. I'm not sure what the regulations in your country are, but here in Europe one can have only one bag with him/her in the plane (my sister have taken two though and nobody said anything about it to her). I'd stuff the console in my pocket or in my bag.

And yes, you can play it during the flight, but you can't use Wi-Fi. Just like Deltron already said, you can't use it during take off and the time the plane is coming down. All electronic devices should be turned off for that time. If you have more questions and concerns about this, I think you should contact the air line about it and ask their opinion about it.

I'm pretty sure the regulations for bags are pretty much the same here. I'll take your advice and just keep it in my pocket. That should make it easier to get through the extremely heavy security I'll have to deal with. And keeping it off during liftoff and landing, I'll make sure to keep that in mind. :garyuu:

Thanks Everyone for the Help

I was recently on JetBlue, and my TV was out.
I proceeded to spend the next 3 hours playing Apollo Justice.
So, yeah, you can.

As long as the pilot doesn't say, "I've had it with these MuthaF**king DSes on this MuthaFu**king plane!" You should be fine.

No, but I've brought my DS on a flight before, and there were no qualms with it...

Yeah, as already previously mentioned, you can play it. But I have one thing to say, that should make you a little less nervous about flying: Plane accident's are less likely than car accidents. I don't know if that helps you, but it helped my mother. :sadshoe:

Electronic devices are allowed on planes, and you may use them pretty much anytime except for take-off and landing. The only rules regarding them that I've heard is that you shouldn't use wi-fi features in the air. Aside from that, it should be fine. Oh, and I recommend bringing headphones.

Just a teensy bit of innacurate feedback: You're allowed to have one large carry-on (your cat carrier I guess) and one "personal item" like a purse or shoulder bag. Therefore you should be able to keep your DS in that if you wish, or in your pocket. Having a DS on a plane is one of the best ways to endure one of those long boring plane rides (though reading has always worked for me in the past when I didn't have any games I wanted to play.)

One thing is that when I flew with my DS, whenever this sign was blinking you had to turn electronic devices off, then when it's off you can switch it back on again. Oh, and you can't play during takeoff.

Not in Europe. Leaving the US yes, but many flights within and from Europe are one carry-on bag total still.

It depends, I guess. My sister has been able to bring her shoulder bag and laptop bag when flying from Finland to Sweden.

I took my DS on a plane in my pocket. That is my DS's home by the way.
It wasn't to bad except I was playing T&T at that point... and you know who was popping up on the screen. :flowsers:
I was afraid I was going to frighten someone.
